Affordable Stop and Go Driving school was established May of 1998. Joe Zahara, the owner is a certified teacher and has a minor in Traffic Safety (Driver’s Education) from Central Washington University. He moved from Seattle to Phoenix in 1996 and quickly realized that there was a need for quality Driving schools. Stop and Go currently offers Driver’s Education, Traffic Survival School, and Defensive Driving School.

Hello, I am the owner of Stop and Go Driving School. I am also a certified teacher and have a minor in Traffic Safety (Driver’s Education) from Central Washington University. My wife and myself moved from Seattle to Phoenix in 1996 and quickly realized that there was a need for quality Driving schools. I take pride in teaching all my instructors the knowledge I received from Central Washington University. My goal is to provide a safe and friendly learning environment for all students learning to drive for the first time. Learning to drive can be a stressful time and here at Stop and Go we pride ourselves on making this learning experience fun and exciting.

Trish was immensely patient with me and kind, a great teacher. She managed to squeeze us in as a walk in and was very understanding to our situation. I learned more from her in an hour than I’ve learned from most drivers in months, she really knows her stuff and is always willing to offer help and make sure safety on the road is a number one priority! 10/​10, definitely would recommend!

Entering into driving school was very nerve wracking, however I made it through with ease! Brianne is a tough instructor but is very rewarding, and she made me feel very comfortable behind the wheel. Volker is also a very kind and patient tester; despite my anxiety on the road, he remained calm through my hiccups in the test. This company is not only more affordable than most, but it is a very friendly business with customer service that exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommending Stop and Go to my peers that would also benefit from driving instruction.

I took the 6 hrs silver package. Frank was my instructor. I had a great experience. It was my first time behind the driving wheel so I was kind of scared of hitting someone… But it all went fine… Frank was patient and guided me thru the basics n helped me to develop confidence.

I signed 2 teenagers up for this course, I can say I’m very impressed. The staff has all been very friendly and knowledgeable. The material and training has been top notch, the instructors are very responsive and knowledgeable. I had a couple scheduling issues and sent them an email concerning it and had a response and call from the owner in minutes. I can say, Joe really understands customer service and had everyone corrected in a very short time. He takes the reputation of his company seriously and I believe that reflects on all of the employees that have been very helpful. Thanks, will most defineatley be sending my youngest through the course at Stop and Go when she gets to that point as well.

This company had great customer service! The instructors were all terrific and patient with my son, especially Volker.
We had some issues with the third party motor vehicles service where my son took his driving test & got his license… Joe the owner called me that evening and apologized for the 3rd party service (NOT his employees). I was impressed that he was concerned enough about his customer’s experience that he would personally sort out the issues.
We chose Stop-​and-​Go because they had cars that my son could learn to drive on and take the test with. Further, they offered a service where their personnel would take him to get his license, as parents who travel quite a bit, this service was a lifesaver.
Stop-​and-​Go offers classes for speeding tickets as well — so when my lead foot gets the best of me, I know who I’ll be calling!

Found an instructor driving holding their phone in her left ear with their right hand doing 25 in a 40. You are not setting a good example for teens today. Please pull over and conduct your business don’t do it while driving.
Update. The owner contacted me through message within minutes of my posting. So I have changed the review to be 4 stars because of his quick action to remedy the situation.

I purchased the Platinum package for my wife Jackie-​Lou and she was able to get her permit after the first attempt. She took driving instructions from Michelle who was very patient and helped her learn the mechanics of driving and the importance of safety. After a few months of practice my wife passed her driving exam and is very happy to be driving on her own. If you are close to making a decision, choose Stop and Go.

Both our kids have completed Stop and Go Driving School and we have been very pleased with the instruction, service and price. Our kids safety is #1; the instruction given was professional, complete and left both kids with confidence in driving. The instructors were thorough and related well to students which helped to impress the importance of the lessons. The driving instruction included all facets of what young drivers will face once on their own. Our kids feedback was positive at each step of the instruction. Each lesson covered new challenges, that could have proven scary for new drivers, but these instructors really know how to work with new drivers and kept them calm and built confidence.

We appreciated that Joe Z. contacted us and wanted to make things right. We were given the price match. My daughter completed the 6 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of In-​Car Training. All the instructors were patient and informative. The only small inconvenience was when my wife called to schedule her 2nd drive everything was booked for almost 3 weeks. I was however able to research and schedule an earlier drive time by using the «Book your Drive» option on their website. In the end it was a good experience for our daughter.

I want to update every one on my review on this business. To my surprise the owner contacted us and tried to make it good for us. He apologized for our experience and reimbursed us for the money in question. I was happy to see the owner go the extra distance to satisfy the customer. I would give this business another opportunity. I think that was so nice of him to try to change our experience with his business. This is a business committed to customer satisfaction and service.
