United Structural Design was founded in 2013 with the mission of becoming an innovative force in the Building Construction Industry. As a lean and energetic company we are able to provide accurate and efficient structural engineering solutions for small to medium size projects with quick delivery of quality design documents. Our company is organized to avoid the high overhead and multiple levels of management and titles associated with larger consulting companies which add time and costs to your projects. When you work with United Structural Design you will always be assigned a senior level engineer that will work with you from the design through construction. You will be assured that all design documents will go through a stringent quality assurance review by a licensed structural engineer before they arrive at your office, inbox, or ftp site. This not only assures that you have a safe and efficient structural solution but also reduces the time plans sit in city review and reduces RFIs and change orders in the field. Along with residential and commercial building design United Structural Design provides a range of specialty services including forensic evaluations, non-​building structures, construction design services, mechanical supports, and code compliant special structural inspections. History

Established in 2013.

United Structural Design was started with the mission of becoming an innovative force in the Building Construction Industry. John and Ben founded United Structural Design in June of 2013. After working for the leading structural engineering firms, John and Ben are determined to provide quick delivery of quality design documents and build long lasting relationships with all their clients. Ben and John carry on the values and traditions they gained while working under some of the top Professional Structural Engineers in the Southwest.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

John earned his M.S.C.E. in Structural Engineering from the University of Nevada. Studying under several top professors, John studied advanced topics such as Seismic Base Isolation, Structural Dynamics and Structural Steel Design. After graduation John moved to Phoenix, Arizona and continued his professional career at Paragon Structural Design (a subsidiary of CH2M HILL) where he and Ben first met.

Ben earned his M.S.C.E. in Structural Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Studying under Dr. Scott Civjan P.E. Ben published his graduate thesis on the topic of experimental concrete admixtures for enhancing concrete durability. After graduation Ben moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began his professional career at Paragon
