This has to be the best BBQ in DFW and all the fixins and desserts are made from scratch, and OMG the bbq sauce is to die for, great food great folks

The owner and her son were working today when a group of 5 of us went in. They were super nice and very hospitable. I kinda felt like I was dining at someone’s house, it felt right. The food was yummy, the bbq brisket was juicy and the sausage was very good too. I also liked the sweet tea. I looked closely at the menu and it has many items. A little something for everyone. The BBQ sauce was great, but u did feel it need a bit more bite to it. All in all this will become my new BBQ place. I recommend it.

For all the people who are craving barbecue in Mesquite this place is by far the the best. Bad location If you blink you might miss it. The lemonade is the only thing I won’t suggest.

Tried this place out using a groupon. We drove in from Rockwall. It was definitely worth the drive and we will go back. We shared the 2 meat meal and added an extra side. Pulled pork and sausage was very tasty. The addition of their Bbq sauce was very delicious. It’s on the sweet side but that’s the way l like it. Our sides were equally delicious. The baked beans were to die for. Corn on cob was great. Potato salad is more like mashed potatoes (I prefer chunks of potatoes) but they were still good.
Their prices are very reasonable even without a coupon. It was worth the drive.

Horrible. Shouldn’t call themselves a Bbq spot at all. I think it’s a down right travesty to «boil» any meat & call it barbecue. I’ll never. .ever, ever come back here!!!

This place gets 5 stars for the combination of price point and taste. We tried this place because of a
coupon, and are very, very pleased we did. Let me break down our meal for you. We ordered the family pack #2 for $ 55. It included 3 — yes — 3lbs of meet, 5(!) sides, and 8 rolls. PLUS, they give us a free sandwich as part of the Friday special. Here is what we ate:
1.) 2lbs of brisket. The brisket is delicious and worth the price. ⁵⁄₅. A previous reviewer complained of fat and, as you can see from my photos, there is a layer of fat. I might have been slightly disappointed IF I paid full price, but I did not so, frankly, I have zero complaints. There is a place much closer to my house named Monterrey BBQ and they charged me much more for even more fatty meat. You can see my review on their page. The beef was amazingly tender and has a nice smoky flavor. Definitely worth a try.
2.) 1lb of pork ribs. Smoky, moist, delicious. Anyone would enjoy these ribs, and they are very large and tasty. The only downside is that they taste very similar to the beef, probably because they use the same briquets when cooking the two meats. No major problems. Good flavor, just same taste. And it was glorious.
3.) 2 pints of Mac and cheese. It is awesome. The best side of Mac we have ever had at any bbq joint. Give it a shot, especially hot.
4.) corn. Did not realize it was on the cob but it was quite good, and the portions were generous.
5.) mashed potatoes. The only side I would suggest avoiding. They tasted like Betty Crocker ready made with excess pepper. I enjoyed them but cannot imagine paying bbq prices for them.
6.) fries. They taste like carnival fries and are fresh. Too greasy for me but my wife SWEARS by them. She thought they were awesome.
Finally, the free sandwich. Could I ever complain about a free sandwich? NOPE. Tasty and awesome.
If I had to pay full price, I would give this ⁴⁄₅ stars, but at the discounted price, it is some of the BEST bbq we have ever had. We will definitely be back, discount or no. Great service and friendly people.
PLEASE NOTE! The biggest disappointment was the bbq sauce. If we had one true complaint, it was that the bbq sauce was so sweet it tasted like ketchup. It did not taste like anything we ever tasted from a BBQ joint – but again, at the price, we had nothing to complain about. Please see my photos for details!

I wanted Barbecue for New Years Eve and the restaurant I usually go to for barbeque was closed so I had a coupon and decided to go here. I ordered a chopped beef sandwich with mac n cheese and potato salad to go. The chopped beef was cold but tender. The potato salad was just ok it had big chunks of pickles that were to big for a potato salad and the mac n cheese was very dry like it had been sitting all day. Even with a coupon I dont think I will eat here again. It was nothing special about the food.

We just returned home (Waxahachie) & the 40 miles we traveled to Brooks Backyard BBQ was well worth the trip. At first we couldn’t find them (on our Harley) but we sure could smell them, so we just followed our nose, which led us to some of the best BBQ that we have found. Carl & Rona own & run the place & they are both super friendly, served us a very healthy sized 2 meat plate, which came with 2 sides & Today their special was FREE desert. We travel around trying different BBQ & I can honestly say theirs is right up on the top of my list. We will gladly make the trip again to enjoy some of the best BBQ that we have ever experienced
