I was referred here from a friend of friend. Decided to check it out. It did NOT disappoint. I love the owner. He was so nice and the meat was tender. He gave us a couple slices of meat and sausage to taste since it was our first time. I think everyone should go to Slabs. It was great!

The links taste like they had been boiled. The brisket was hard with ALOT OF fat on it. Please pass by this place and go some where better.

The ribs were great and tender! Fried okra was freshly fried, and the baked beans were good. It came with two pieces of white bread. This was a dinner plate for about $ 11 and some change after taxes. I just wished they had more options for dessert instead of just banana pudding.

Their ribs and Potato salad are delicious! That’s all I ever get when I eat here. I tried the chopped beef once but was not a fan. Can’t go wrong with the ribs!

Dive spot with great service. No tables, to go orders only. The ribs were very good, as was the potato salad and beans. The sausage had great flavor but I would have liked it a bit more firm. The banana pudding was pretty good too.

I’m sorry!!!; (Really REALLY wanted to like you BBQ and Pork sandwich… But the salty taste was too much. :(I could feel my blood pressure rise with each bite. q_​q I’m really sorry Slabbs… but it ended up in the trash. A BBQ sandwich isn’t worth getting sick over.
My husband had the same thing happen to him. Guess our bodies aren’t used too so much sodium. If you have high blood pressure issues or don’t normally eat lots of sodium, it’s best to avoid the pulled pork BBQ and try another food on the menu!
3 stars because it was the best 3 bites of my life… it hurt so good!!!

This place is great! It’s in a strip mall next to a gas station and parking is limited. But well worth the trip. It smells like real BBQ should. Their sides are small (a small really is small!) and it’s take out only, but the BBQ was delicious. The guys who work there were very friendly, too. I highly recommend this place, we will be going back next time we’re in the area.

Bbq ribs were ok. I love the idea of doing bbq on open flame but ribs should be served immediately. I do not like the bbq sauce either. Although I have to admit it is actually better than Lockhart’s.

This is the best BBQ in Mesquite. My Boyfriend and I love this little hole in the wall… They are such friendly people and we go every chance we get.

Loved the banana pudding! We ordered the ribs twice hoping the second time was better than the first but it wasn’t. The meat was well cooked but was dried like yesterday’s meat that was left out.
The chopped sandwich was saucy and tasted like sloppy joes which I like but everyone else hated.
I’m giving them three stars for the yummy banana pudding, decent potato salad, and the crispy fried okra.

If you want amazing BBQ this is the sleeper place! It’s far better than any chain in DFW! I have been eating here for 10 yrs and it’s always good! Meats are all tender and fall apart smokey goodness! Sides are all good I’m a fried okra and beans guy! Ribs are a definite must!

Get the loaded potato! It is so good. After reading other reviews I had to try it. Next time I will get it with chopped beef on the potato. Sandwich was great.
Was in and out even though they were packed. Staff was really quick and nice. Yes, it’s a hole in the wall… the best kind! If you like banana pudding, they make it right!

3−½ stars. Service was very friendly. Portions were ample. My ribs were just OK though. The texture was good. But the crust was lacking in flavor and they didn’t taste smoked. The sauce was good. Less sweet and more spicy and ketchupy. It seemed popular for a small place. Note that there is no place to sit here and it is a take out only place. Also, the good is pre made then heated in a microwave.

I read all of the rave reviews so I had to try it. I love exploring new dfw bbq joints so I could not pass up this opportunity to add to the list. I had the two meat plate with beans and fried okra. The ribs were dry, tough, and not smoky enough. They were cut in a way that made them more «riblets» than full ribs and the meat was very low quality. I am not 100% certain, but I think my brisket was oven roasted vs. smoked. If it was smoked, I could not tell. They pulled the frozen okra right from the plastic bag to the fryer… so ehhh. For the finale… their bbq beans were literally pork and beans straight from the can. It was funny to me as it should be embarrassing to them to even have this on their menu. I was truly shocked. The 2 meat platter set me back $ 14 bucks so it is not like it is even cheap bbq.

I started coming here a few years ago because I passed it on my way home and the smell is enticing. The portions are plentiful, the food is tasty and the service is with a smile. Their ribs are my favorite but I’ve had brisket and the loaded potato. I’ve actually never tried any of the sides but if they’re anything like the smoked meats then the are excellent.

Today I wanted to be adventurous so I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried this new place. Not much to look at from the outside. As soon as I stepped in I was greeted. Very friendly staff. I ordered the fully loaded backed potatoe. In one word it was «massive». It was really good. One word of caution, ask for the BBQ sauce on the side. That 1 baked potato filled me up all day and I’m not a light eater.
