History
Established in 1974.
We began from humble roots, founded by three college students in the free-wheelin’ hippy culture of the 1970s. They wanted to open a restaurant that reflected their eccentric philosophies, progressive values and above all serve a high quality slice of pizza. What started as a hole in the wall pizza place with lots of hippy culture, has evolved to a collection of almost 150 restaurants in 18 states. Mellow is a highly experiential concept — no two locations are alike. Every restaurant has a unique décor with a custom designed art package featuring the work of local artists and unique local flavor, down to locally brewed beers and local menu specialties. Even today, as Mellows continue sprouting up all over the country, our mission remains the same: to provide you with an experience filled with colorful art, eclectic music, craft beer and food that comforts your soul.
