Argentina has a long tradition of helado, influenced by its Italian counterpart, gelato. In the late 1800s, more than two million Italians came to Argentina, bringing with them their passion, artistry, and their gelato making experience.

Rooted in tradition but with its own unique spin, helado is known for its silky texture, handmade cones, mountainous presentations, and its artisan flavors. Dulce de leche, the most distinctive Argentine flavor, is as rich as a scoop from a just-​opened jar. Sorbets — fruit-​based helados — are only surpassed in flavor by the real fruit of which they are made.

My friend who is visiting from New York took me to this gelato store. They were super friendly and kept giving us samples to try. The dulce de leche ice cream was super sweet. Loved the dark chocolate gelato and the mint chocolate chip (it was bursting with mint flavor).
Will definitely go back when in South Beach

So I wanted dulce de leche icecream and was asked whether I really wanted to order it when the fridge had been left open all night and it was soft. Say what?!? There are public health laws against this. They should have thrown it all out. They ended up serving it to someone else and it was too soft. They can get someone sick.

Friendly staff and great gelato. I knew it was good quality when i saw that it was kept in stainless steel canisters and not on open display in a glass fridge. Open glass fridges are used to display colorful gelato to trick kids into convincing their parents to spend money on poor quality gelato. This gelato was in a canister, hidden from view, so you know they are not gimmicking anyone. Spatial layout could use some help, but only design nerds like me would care. I would go back.

Best ice cream place ever! Have never been to Argentina but my boyfriend is from there and he suggested that we go there, was not disappointed and now every time I go to Miami beach I have to have ice cream there. Every flavor is amazing so try everything ! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The staff is very friendly as well.

Was not prepared on how good this was! The manager was great and let me try a bunch of different flavors since it was my first time there. Went with his suggestion of the Dulce de Leche and the dark chocolate. This is a must try, you won’t be disappointed. The flavors are rich but surprisingly the gelato felt light. Simply amazing!

Being Argentinian I know good ice cream. This is the best ice cream that I’ve had in the US and the closest to those that I’ve enjoyed in Argentina — creamy, delicious and flavorful.

Having lived in Argentina and having Freddo at every street corner, I was spoiled to have such amazing gelato available everyday. When I saw there was a Freddo in Miami I was beyond ecstatic to have a taste of my beloved Argentina!
Even if you don’t have the nostalgia that I have, it’s impossible not to love this ice cream. literally impossible. It is hands down the best I’ve ever had! You should taste a few flavors before deciding but I will let you in on my secret recipe that, after months of trial and error, I finally perfected. That is dulce de leche and marscapone. you’re welcome in advance.
If you have more of a hankering for chocolate, then you should try this combo, also very good, the grand chocolate and the strawberry cream flavor. seriously so good! If you live in Brickell, they just opened a location on S. Miami Ave near Mary Brickell Village. Enjoy!

Love the ice cream! is the best for me! i never tried the mint flavor i only do the chocolates and dulce the leche which are very creamy and rich!
My complaint is the costumer service! They are rude! with 0 costumer service even managers! and whats weird they are not argentineans! I think if argentineans did the costumer service it would be a much better service!!! The only reason i put up with it is their icea cream so I will continue to go everytime I go to SB! The ice cream is worth it!!!

I was craving ice cream so decided to walkover to Freddo after having lunch. The place was mostly empty when we arrived with the exception of a couple of other patrons, so we were served quickly and didn’t have to wait. One of the employees even offered us some cups of water as we were eating our ice cream which was nice.
I ordered a regular cucurucho (waffle cone), which comes with two flavors. I opted for the banana split and the dark chocolate, both which were amazing. The banana split was banana flavored ice cream with dulce de leche swirls and chocolate flakes. I’m a huge banana and chocolate fan so I really enjoyed this flavor and the dulce de leche added a nice touch. The dark chocolate ice cream is made with 70% cocoa and was absolutely sinful! Sooooo good and made a great combination with the banana split. The cone with the two flavors was around $ 7 if I recall correctly, which sounds like a lot, but really isn’t bad considering the amount of ice cream you are getting. (I once paid $ 7 for one small scoop of ice cream at the Haagen Dazs on Lincoln so this seemed like a deal!)
My coworker tried the alfajores with dulce de leche ice cream. I tried a bite but honestly could barely taste it because my mouth was coated in the taste of dark chocolate. However, he seemed to really enjoy it so it must’ve been good! Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for a sweet treat to cool off while walking down Lincoln Road — but beware, if you choose you walk and eat your ice cream will surely melt onto your hand in about a minute so maybe ask for a cup to put it in. There’s no sense in wasting good ice cream!

I got the Italian maarscapone raspberry flavor gelato in a panini…
1. As they bring out to you the panini, it just LOOKS awesome. Something that you just want to gaze at for a bit, then devour…
2. Once you FEEL it and get your hands on the panini… the panini is warm and the gelato obviously cold, but feeling the warm panini right off the back was just wow. Idk y I got so excited just holding that warm panini stuffed with gelato.
3. It tasted awesome. The panini is thick and fluffy and the gelato is creamy and clings onto the panini dough. They complement so well.
They have a variety of more unique flavors that I really like. You can choose 2 sauces to add to your sandwich. I tried a Nutella and coconut/​almond sauce. Both had rice crisps in them… they were frickin awesome. I had a 5 out of 5 experience with the panini gelato sandwich. I look forward to getting that again when I’m in the beach. This is my new go to spot for dessert.

Where do I begin…
Greeted by the manager Armin I felt nothing but welcomed… That’s how is should be but that feeling becomes almost odd in south beach, where staff seem to think they are doing you a favor waiting on you 9 out of 10 times.
We had never had the ice creek here so we wanted to take a couple. At no point did we feel like we were a bother.
Now to the yumminess!!!

I lived in Argentina for 26 years so I know how Freddo’ icecreams taste like.
Let me tell you these are as good as the ones served at any Freddo in my country.
What I did find here in Miami is that they don’t have as many flavors.
Try the «Dulce de Leche» you won’t regret it.

Not impressed at all. Tried this place because my favorite spot closed… Kilwins. This place cost twice as much and tasted half as good. Friendly staff but TERRIBLE ice cream.
I got the mint and it tasted EXACTLY like toothpaste. Exactly.

Saw on Deco Drive Freddo was opening on Lincoln Road. We discovered Freddo in Argentina in 2005 where we got hooked on Dulce de Leche Ice cream so imagine how happy I was to see them opening around the corner.
As there is currently no visible signage I walked Lincoln Road several times on different days before I found it this past Sunday.
Long line, long wait, got Dulce de Leche, Dark Chocolate and Banana Split (?) in a cup.
MLK day I went back, only 1 person ahead of me. I was taking my order to go (sin Banana Split. The Dulce De Leche and Dark Chocolate are just perfect!).
I was pleasantly how well they packaged my to go order (please see pics). At home 10 minutes later I enjoyed every bite!

I crave ice cream in my sleep… And when I found out an Argentine heladería was opening on Lincoln Rd., I knew I had to try it (more than once, of course)
As you walk in, you will find the cashier who will take your order and give you a ticket. Then, you hand this ticket to one of the servers and ask for your flavor. Sounds easy, however, the space at Freddo is extremely small and its layout does not help them be organized to get you out of there. I’ve been here at peak times and this is a problem. I also have to mention, I thought I had to go to the eye doctor when I couldn’t read the ingredients for each flavor on their board and voiced it to my sister, but two other patrons had the same issue when I was there… it’s hard to read their gold font on black background.
The variety of flavors is scarce but you should try what Argentina is known for: sambayon and dulce de leche — you can find your mint next door at 4D.
The seating space is limited inside-​only so far but I enjoy walking on Lincoln Rd. so that works.
