This place has a pretty cool tiki lounge vibe. You can sit inside or outside. I sat outside to enjoy the great Miami weather. I really liked the location of this place as well. Super close to the beach & right in the middle of all the excitement. This place also has a chill relaxed vibe. Which i did like. I came here for some sushi. However, I left disappointed. The fish wasn’t very fresh and the rolls had way too much rice. They were kinda skimpy with what they put in the tuna rolls and made up for it I guess with rice? I was not impressed. I also put in a order for chicken pad thai which was actually good. Maybe, I could have enjoyed this place more if I didn’t order sushi?! The food also took forever to come out. I don’t understand why it took so long. I noticed several of the waiters not paying attention to their tables but, instead checking out the girls passing by the restaurant. It was a little amusing but, its not really the right thing to do if your working. Yes, I understand this is Miami but, do that on your time off. The customers would appreciate it. Also, at one point I went in to use the restroom & there were two guys standing around. They didn’t look like they worked there and it didn’t appear as if they were customers either. I thought maybe they are waiting to use the restroom but, they told me to go ahead and use it & informed me that they were not waiting. Then on my way out these two guys are still standing there. Weird…

Food is good however the portions could be bigger. I had several rolls of sushi and the chicken Pad Thai which were all good. Just wish the sushi pieces were bigger and a little more fresher!

I don’t know what these other people are talking about but the food is awesome. The service is fast and a great atmosphere to eat as well as party in. The kung fo shrimp is a must at this place.

Overpriced food, horrible service! Gave a group a heads up before they sat down… They didn’t listen, poor them:(

Shitty AND overpriced! Now THAT’S a two-fer! You can always tell a place is gonna suck when they automatically include gratuity. Even the sub-par service isn’t as bad as the food, though.

Didn’t stay at this hotel. Didn’t party at this hotel. In fact, my girlfriend and I stayed across the street at The Surfcomber during Art Basel Miami and we always ran across the street to this place for the sushi bar. Sushi man is Japanese and he is meticulous with the fish and the cuts of fish. Strange location to have sushi, I know but a hard find. Price is great for the sushi. As far as anything else in the hotel, who the hell knows. Don’t expect anything else from this hotel, including service. I just love the sashimi.

In town from LA and need to get my sushi fix. Think it is 5 bucks for 1 piece of sushi. When I finally got some, it was pretty bad. But what should I have expected, they combined a Chinese and Japanese phase to name it

We stayed at the hotel attached to this restaurant and had we not been staying there we may have not discovered it. The international staff was helpful and attentive, which was unusual for Miami service from our 5 day experience. Martinis were spendy but delicious and the sushi was moderately priced. Again, good sushi will not come at conveyor belt prices but if you are a foodie/snob this place will not disappoint. Oh, and great outdoor atmosphere for being on a busy road. No other spot on Collins offered the same all-around experience.

This wasn’t supposed to be where we ended up for our friend’s birthday dinner… but as usual when do things ever REALLY go according to plan when you’re with 6 girls in Miami? ;) We literally stumbled up to Kung Fu Chus’s after getting completely sh*t faced at the hotel bar at the Dorchester hotel a couple doors down. I’m not sure if it was because we were drunk or what… but the food that night was Stellar! The biggest thing that stood out was the tuna tataki. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! so amazing, that we actually went back the next day for lunch. The service was great, the staff was über friendly and helpful in recommending things to try and the atmosphere was delightful.

Pretty good but not stellar. The menu options are definitely unique — I’d never had a sushi roll wrapped in kiwi before — and the vibe is really neat. There definitely aren’t enough tiki-style quasi-Japanese restaurants around. The location right on Collins Ave is cool, especially since you get to sit on couches and armchairs. The sushi isn’t bad, but not exceptional or particularly flavorful. So yeah — semi-recommended. I had a good time. I’m sure there’s better sushi very close by, but the atmosphere is fun and the food ain’t bad.

Another great idea brought to you from Mr. Chu, the owner/head chef of Mr. Chu’s on Washington Ave. You sit outside on the patio, enjoy a nice saketini while people watch. Since it’s on Collins Ave, many times you’ll spot the paparazzi stalking some celebrity. Yes, they serve good sushi. However, you want the Hot Dishes. The Steamed Beef Short Ribs are to die and the Baked Sea Bass Miso Glaze and Clams with Ginger and Scallion Broth are great as well. The dishes are in tapa portions so you can try as many items on the menu as possible.
