La Folie D’Amour

La Folie D’Amour is yet another slap jack operation, doomed to follow in the footsteps of this location’s previous names and owners.
Nothing has really changed since it was Deck 23. They hung some stuff from the ceiling and covered the patio walls with fake ivy.
Yay.
A shoddy revamp of the décor is not enough to incite my scathing disdain and disgust. No my friends, my mantra was insulted… I was given shoddy service!
A social group I belong to rented the venue for a large theme event party. The crowd was amazing, and the DJ was great, but the club was not responsible for the DJ or the guest list. La Folie was supposed to provide security inside the venue, bar tending services, and bathroom maintenance. All of which they did with staggering incompetence.
The bartenders were worthless. It took forever to get their attention, and they didn’t have any idea what you were asking for once you got to them. A simple request for a captain and coke and a red bull in the can resulted in about fifteen minutes of irritating confusion and a final tab of $ 25. Fifteen dollars for a captain and coke, and a staggering ten dollars for a can of red-​bull. After a discussion with the owner, in which he was informed that his club was ridiculous and his staff composed of morons, he said he would take care of our next round.
Sure enough, we go to order a round for some friends, and the trouble is back. After waiting ten minutes I finally flag the bartender down and order four patron silver shots. The owner notices my annoyance and says he will take care of it. He them grabs a bottle of rot-​gut– no-​name tequila and I see him urging the bartender to «Pour them small»
I told him I would rather pay for patron than even think about consuming his «courtesy» shots.
The bartenders at the outside bar only charged $ 7 for a red-​bull. If you are going to rape your customers, at least get the price list right.
The bathrooms were disgusting. All three toilets in the ladies room were overflowing by two am, and numerous girls fell in the puddles. Disgusting.
Boo, La Folie. Boo.
