My first visit, I would rate the food and service 3.5 With each subsequent visit, the service stays about the same but the food is less and less appetizing. At this point, I consider it a couple notches above Pollo Tropical. I recommend Sazon if you want tasty Cuban cuisine.

We had a great time at this restaurant, the waiter helped us pick some great food. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The meal was great, with a ton of variety.

My and my boyfriend went here for lunch the day our flight arrived. We were starving! My boyfriend ordered off the lunch menu, a skirt steak, rice & beans, tostones(which they allowed as a substitution). I ordered off the regular menu the trio of their most popular dishes, lechon assado, chicarones de pollo & fried beef, with rice & beans and yellow plaintains. The portions on both meals were huge! The reason why I gave them 4 instead of 5 is because I felt the food could use more flavor/seasoning, something was definitely missing.

My in laws are visiting and wanted Cuban food, and this is our go to Cuban restaurant. Always delicious. They bring out really good hot buttered bread and we ordered sangria. I know some people consider it low class to use canned fruit cocktail, but I am not one of them. I think it makes it sweeter which I like. Plus it’s better to eat. ;) The daughter always gets the baby palomilla. So not baby size though. It’s got to be at least 4 or 5 ounces, and comes with beans, rice and plantains. For $ 9. And the steak is crazy good, beautifully seasoned. I love getting her leftovers. The husband had the ropa viejo and I had lechon asado — roast pork in mojo. Mil had chicharrones de pollo(chicken chunks marinated and deep fried) and fil had the vegas combination plate. All came with rice, beans and plantains. All the meats were tender and moist, and the ropa viejo had a great tomato sauce to it. All plates were cleaned. Service is always good and the restaurant is right across from beach, in an area that is nice to walk around in. Highly recommend!

I have been eating here for the last 20 years of visiting from time-to-time(I live in Dallas). 5 stars plus! Favorite dish is Lamb Stew!!! But, everything is fresh and yummy and the fried plantains are the best anywhere. Great service always as well.

It was good. Wanted to try something new in this area, will I go back? Yes. Ordered the fried chicken breast with rice and beans. Chicken was a lil dry but in all it was tasteful.

This Cuban restaurant was recommend to me by a friend of mine years ago. I try to dine every time I visit Miami. Food is delicious, service great(especially if you’re Spanish speaking… Very authentic), and delicious mojitos. Definitely a Miami staple.

I love this place, reliable, delicious Cuban food! Every time I am in Miami we come here and it never disappoints. I love their avocado salad, empanadas, mariquitas, and their delicious plantains! I’m craving it all right now! This a great no frills place in Miami Beach, very comfortable and a perfect place to go with family and friends and just relax and enjoy good food. I’d definitely recommend a stop here, you won’t be disappointed!

This was very very very good. Know a bit of Cuban Spanish? You will be happy even if you don’t. This is a must! Braised Lamb was crazy good. Black peas in the rice or just separate is great. The bread served was NOT Cuban bread so that was disappointing but you aren’t there for the bread but for the meals. My poor belly was extended from eating so much. Anytime you see an ethnic food place full of the same ethnic group… chances are… get in line! Las Vegas restaurant is such a place aforementioned!

Came in for lunch while in town with a friend and her mom. They love this place, and we NEEDED some cuban food before heading back up north to DC. Everything was delicious and authentic and very generous portions. All three of us ordered the lechon asadom and the meat was tender and crunchy and flavorful. Hope to come back!

So after some serious consideration I am re-writing this review. At first I thought Incredibly good, I read a lot of good reviews but was skeptical going in and ended up very happy. Although the sangria was made with fruit cups it was still good and sweet enough that it was above average. The food on the other hand was good for the most part with some complaints. If you enjoy yucca and onions getting that for a side is a great idea. Pork dishes are very good almost like a steamed beef, seafood is really smelly. Admittedly this location is in a little but of a dumpy strip and the building isn’t great seems tired and dirty. The food speaks is good but some if half assed. The beans had no flavor the chicken was good but dry. I would say realistically they waiver between a 3 and 4 but the dumpy area drops them to a 3.

Warning: Do NOT order the Zarzuela de Mariscos. It’s listed on the menu as «Seafood Mix» and is supposed to come faster than a seafood paella. But for $ 28, this is a hot mess of overcooked frozen seafood. At least, that’s what it tasted like. The lobster tails were mealy rubber. The mussels nearly as bad. There were a few flecks of a white fish fillet that might’ve been fresh and could’ve been tasty. But we couldn’t tell for sure because the fish pieces were so small. Shrimp was nothing to talk about either. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing because the reviews for this place are good on Unilocal. And, while we dined outside, a Miami firetruck pulled up to pick up takeout; firefighters usually know good food. Then again, the pressed garlic bread that came for free was so sad and tasteless… maybe it wasn’t us after all. On the plus side, I will say the staff is very, very nice. And we enjoyed sitting outside, people watching. Maybe this is a better place for a few drinks and fried appetizers? Or a chicken entrée?

Wow that’s a I can say… I thought Miami had the best Cuban food, so I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was really nasty… I would never order from this place again… The sandwich was too fat… Way to much meat no pickles just plain cheese and meat… Oh and I had a hair in my sandwich as well

The MOJITO was tasty. Fresh herbs & lime. Very refreshing! You don’t taste the alcohol as much but it catches up to you. The OXTAILSPECIAL was delicious! Great tasting base sauce. It could’ve been cooked longer, but still very delicious! The WHITERICE&FRIEDPLANTAINS sides were good too. The YUCCA W/ONIONS INMOJOSAUCE was amazing! I loved it! The texture of the yucca was cooked perfectly. The onions & mojo sauce added just the right amount of flavor w/o making them too salty. The CUBANCOFFEE was great! Very strong & flavorful! They put sugar on the bottom of the cup, so even the black coffee is slightly sweetened. I loved the coffee! I like that there is a selection of sides to choose from here. You have options & not just stuck w/the rice & beans it normally comes w/. Great experience & food overall!

Excellent price versus quality, especially considering the location. Starter: giant shrimps with garlic and onion. Being a garlic lover, it was a real treat. Main course: 3 kinds of grilled meat(chicken, beef, pork), with, off course, the typical«rice and beans». Finishing with a «Cuban coffee»(=espresso with lots of sugar).

This place is so good that I fly in town just for dinner here. Been coming here for about 5 years. I am a creature of habit and always get the Filet de pollo w/sweet plantains and white rice. I never get tired of it. The red sangria is also off the hook. Service is always with a smile. This is a great authentic family Cuban restaurant. While they have multiple locations I always come to 6970 Collins Ave in Miami. If you like Cuban –try this place and you won’t regret it.
