Abreu Paint & Body Shop

Got into my first accident March of this year (I was T-​Boned into driver side and the other driver was found at fault). Rather than taking my car to where his insurance recommended (where I also had to receive and the turn around for my car would be 2 – 3 weeks), I decided I’d rather support a local business that I grew up by (and that had a turn around of about a 5 – 7 business days).
I took my car in and the gentleman that helped me was friendly and honest about everything. I do not recall his name, but I do know that he was not the owner.
USAA (driver’s insurance) covered my rental for the turnaround rate that the Abreu Paint & Body Shop told the insurance. The shop also requested additional funds from USAA as there were supposedly some internal things that that the previous shop (that provided quote) had missed.
Where things went wrong:
My car was ready and the shop was waiting on that second (and smaller) check from USAA to arrive in the mail before releasing my vehicle to me. I had to pay for extra days on the rental (which USAA would not cover since the car was ready) because the shop was basically holding my car ransom until the check arrived.
Both my claims specialist (Progressive) and USAA claim specialist were surprised that the shop was holding my car over a smaller summed check. If we working with some Mickey Mouse insurance company, I’d understand. But USAA? Come on…
USAA spoke with Abreu Paint & Body Shop and offered to fax documentation that the check exists, but the shop wouldn’t budge. It was their policy. I was almost in tears in the office because I work through the weekend and couldn’t really afford the weekend rental prices. I begged.
The shop offered to have me pay the total on the smaller check and they in turn would then write over the USAA check to me when it arrived. Even if I did have the money, if they couldn’t trust me and USAA to not disappear off the face of this planet after releasing my car, I couldn’t trust them to write over the check to me. Both insurance companies said that this behavior was unheard of from a shop working with a MAJOR insurance company.
Had to pay for 3 days of rental (Sat-​Mon) as the check arrived on Monday. I had to call twice that day to check if mailman came by.
As for the work:
No complaints on the body except they buffed the ever living hell out of the «new» driver-​side door and the passenger door behind it. 9 month later and it still sucks to look at.
My car is black with silver and blue «glitter» and the paint job is pretty close but a bit off… they probably buffed it to death to hide it.
Lesson learned?
I’ll stick with going to what the insurance company recommends. I should’ve taken that route for the extended guarantee/​warranty on the work done. Had I gone to where USAA recommended, my car wouldn’t have been held ransom.

This place made dealing with the heartbreak of my car that I am still paying off getting crashed into a little less heart-​breaky. The service was great (from the kindness and agreeability of the folks who work there to the actual communication, response time and time of service), my car looks and drives spectacularly, I have no complaints whatsoever. In fact, my Geico agent was the only thing slow about the process. Calling and speaking with Georgina was the easiest route. She was always happy to put me on with the guys working on my car for an honest status update. Even though I have moved farther from the area, I would travel back here if I had any other auto mishaps in the future. Can’t praise these guys enough. THANK YOU!

This is my go to place. They are right behind my job making it so convenient. They work fast and efficient. Any problem they will gladly help.

Came to Abreu’s shop to fix some things on my Ford Focus. Very nice and friendly staff, got my car fixed in 3 days at a price I didn’t even think possible. Saved me over $ 1000. Absolutely recommend.

I highly recommend Abreu’s and would go back if I ever needed to get my car fixed again. I brought my car in for a fender bender. They gave me a great price quote and my car was repaired within 3 days.

I’ve been a customer of a Abreu Paint & Body for over 25 years. Before that time, I used various body shops in Broward and Dade County but was never satisfied about the job they did or the customer service. The front office is professionally run by Abreu’s daughter, Darlene, and run by Abreu and his son-​in-​law, Santiago. They have all the bells & whistles: ChassisMaster, painting booth, etc. This is a family-​run business that shows pride of craftsmanship in every job they do. They’re also State Farm certified. Don’t text and drive but if you do (like I did) this is the place to go!

I’ve had only one experience with Abreu, and many with other body shops. I will never use any other shop in the future. The shop is clean, professional, well-​run, state of the art. They do what they say they’re going to do, they do it well, and on time. Their prices are fair and each person I’ve dealt with is honest and good.

Where do I begin??? Should I start with their excellent customer service or their great work! I’ve taken 3 of my cars there and I couldn’t be happier with them. Not only is their work great, but Santi, the owner, is very honest when he gives you a pick up date. They work with you on every level and they truly are one of the only paint & body shops that when they tell you your car will be ready in a week. That really means a week. They’re customer service is excellent! I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking to fix their car.

I’ve been using Abreu for many years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for body repairs. After having two teenage girl drivers I had to use a body shop a lot… and I mean a lot… like 3 – 4 times a year. Abreu makes the entire experience a pleasure. Their work is impeccable, they do it relatively quickly, it’s always ready when they promise, and they are very courteous and professional. And their prices are reasonable. The shop is family owned and they now have the second generation taking over. Ask for Arturo who is terrific.
