Alberto Linero Gallery

Upon entering the Gallery, I noticed the cleanliness was above par compared to other places I attended that day. The staff was friendly and didn’t hover over me like in other locations. While i don’t claim to get all art, they did have a cool variety of artists.
At one point one of the ladies walked over to see if I needed any help. She was extremely polite and knowledgeable on the artists they were currently displaying. I will definitely be stopping back in for Art Walk.

Yeah. Gross. If you’ve ever wondered why Miami has so much heinous art, here’s one reason why. Yeah. It’s absolutely awesome walking into a gallery filled with knockoff Jackson Pollacks on the wall next to knockoff Giacomettis. And yet everything in sight is beyond ugly.
Art is subjective, so it’s hard to fault this place on the basis of its bad taste alone. But try being ignored by a gallery woman on the phone speaking rudely in broken English to someone enquiring about a piece. Then see her hang up and ignore you some more. This lady managed to be rude to two people at once, which I didn’t even know was possible. Yet this didn’t win any points from me.
This gallery is just ridiculous that I’d normally say I wouldn’t be back. But I’m sure I will, if only for a laugh, or to see if the workers are still unconscionably rude.
If you’re in the market for art, be smart with your money and go to reputable dealers of legit art: not heinous, derivative knockoffs sold by morons. Peace.

Formally the Area 23 Galeria, taken over by Alberto Linero about a year ago, undergone some alterations; some paint here, a wall or two there, another change or two and «Ta-​Da»… a few months back the last change of renaming the space Alberto Linero Gallery
A fabulous addition to all the galleries that have made Wynwood such a hot spot.
I love all the vibrant colors (white walls and colorful art). Each artist’s style was presented in their own section of the gallery.
Some a bit simple but artistically it was perfect (like the various peace symbol paintings and sculptures).
Some a bit risqué, like the crude but interesting sexual sketches.
Some a bit political but amusing and unique jus the same (like the Fidel Castro paintings with real darts stuck into Fidel)(or better yet, the painting of Fidel performing oral suggesting he is a Co*k-Sucker… rhymes with dock).
And some additional great works.
