Avant-Gardens

My experience with the staff at Avant Gardens was phenomenal. Julia was very attentive and Rick had amazing ideas for the décor and design. I had other vendors for my event and by far the easiest to work with was Avant Gardens.

I have known Rick the owner of Avant Gardens for about 30 years. He loves what he does and has worked very hard to get where he is. I can tell you that he will do whatever he can to make your flower wishes a reality. Call him up and genuinely explain what, where and when you need his services. Nobody is perfect, but he will try to accommodate your requests and make you smile in the end! Give him a try!

BEWARE ! If your planning on hosting a nice event, count this company out. The owner is extremely arrogant and that’s not the worst part. I had my wedding at the Biltmore where my bouquet had dead flowers and I had to have them remove dead flowers from my table arrangements on my way to my first look. The linens they used were wrinkly and ruined my 7,000 dollar pictures. When I got my sample the linens were pressed and nice, completely different from the disaster set on my main table. When I spoke with the owner he could not have acted more snobby and told me basically too bad so sad. I am in shock that a Biltmore vendor would be capable of such terrible service and table setting. There are much better vendors in the area that truly care about making things perfect as I found tons for my daughters birthday party. Trust me move down the list of preferred vendors. More than ten thousand dollars spent and they could do nothing to fix my concern.

I placed my order online directly through Avant Gardens website. Both flower deliveries were completed the following day in a timely manner. The arrangements were as depicted in the photo online, if not better. The people receiving the flowers, commented on the the beauty of the arrangements.
Ordering online was easy, I didn’t have any special requests. I didn’t have to communicate with anyone at Avant Gardens.

I have been using this place through teleflora for a year. I needed something last minute and wanted to pick it up myself and decided to orderly directly over the phone. We chatted for a few minutes and told them what I wanted and didn’t want. I definitely didn’t get what I ordered. Things I specifically said no to, where in the order. When I went to pick up, the lady at the counter was not friendly and barely said two words. If I use them again, it will definitely only be through teleflora.

I want to love this place so much, but the owners are so unfriendly it is mind boggling. I have been there at least 5 times because like i said, i want to love it. It is near my house and has great window displays. After my past experiences with them just being kinda snarky, i had decided not to go back. BUT then they had a GIANT banner that read «Sidewalk Sale Saturday» that I saw on my home from work Thursday, so i thought what the heck, i will go give them another try. Drove over there Saturday to find they’d taken the sign down, went inside anyway, no sale, i was the only person in the store, owner was at the counter and never even acknowledged i was in there. She just sat there talking to an employee, even when i walked directly in front of them and said hello, NADA, no response, not even eye contact or a nod, bubcus. Wow. Lets just say customer service is not their thing.

Horrible experience very unprofessional drivers and staff. Boyfriends, fiancés and or husbands steer away from this place, might as well take her flowers from the gas station.

I tried to support local businesses and went out of my way to not order from Proflowers, FTD or Teleflora for a Mother’s Day gift. Boy, that was a MISTAKE! I ordered online for a bamboo plant on a Monday and got an order acknowledgement then received an e-​receipt on a Tuesday. And come Wednesday receive a call where I am told the item has not been available for a while & there are no plans to get it anytime soon.
Well hell take it OFF your website if you can’t fill the order. Bad service. Back to the national florists I go who are way more reliable but now I lost 3 days.
It makes me wonder if small businesses should dabble in e-​commerce at all.

I really thought I had found my new florist when I walked into this place. Everything appeared so high end and I loved all of the décor, furniture and artifacts. In fact, they were closing in one hour and were extremely professional and patient while taking my order. I gave a clear explanation of what I wanted (and didn’t want) and was assured that the Designer would make it happen. So I was encouraged to come back in 30 – 40 minutes and it would be ready. I ran a couple of errands and returned to a very blah arrangement. Not at all what I had envisioned. I even had to point out that the roses were burnt on the edges so the lady at the front desk thought it would be a good idea to remove the outer petals… Really??? Needless to say, I ended up removing the roses completely in my car because I was embarrassed of the quality. So disappointing.

Well, where do I start… By far the most unprofessional business I have ever come across. I booked them (deposit placed and then 1 week prior to our wedding, paid for in Full) for a carpet aisle rental for an outdoor lawn wedding. On the day of our wedding, 2 hours to be exact prior to the start time, I was made aware that they «decided not to rent me the carpet due to it being outdoors». We had a contract with ALL detailed information and clearly it was agreed to be outside prior to any payment/​reservation being made. Needless to say, I was left, on my wedding day, without an «aisle» to walk down in our outdoor wedding.
Unfortunately, that was not the worst part. After our wedding, I naturally went to the store to get my refund along with an explanation for the broken contract. The store was busy with customers as it was the week of Valentines day. I asked to speak with the manager that had assisted me with my reservation and the employee went to call him out to the front while providing him my name etc. The manager comes out to greet me, as well many waiting customers, and start by saying «oh yea you were the wedding this past Saturday at Fairchild? Yea there was no way I was going to put my carpet on that lawn!» I was left speechless. He continued rudely to say that he didn’t «want his carpet to get damaged». Which under any other circumstance would be completely understandable. However, under a contract with it listed as an outdoor wedding and 2 hours prior to it, unacceptable!!!
The level of unprofessionalism displayed by this company was astonishing. Their customer service was even worse. I would never recommend their business.

I’ve been coming here for years, since I was a little girl actually. They have been in business a long time and have not left Bird Rd. Every time I’ve been asked to recommend a flower shop this was my go to for people. So I am saddened to have to writ this review.
So, I ordered flowers for my gma on her birthday. I did not want to risk her not being home when they went to make the delivery so I asked them to prepare it and I would pick it up. I was going on my lunch hour so needless to say I was on a tight schedule. I get there 30 minutes after the time they said it would be ready (leaving them some wiggle room just in case) and when they bring me the arrangement it looked nothing like the picture from their website (online it was modern and elegant, what they gave me looked like it belonged at a funeral), I said so and the lady offered to fix it. I said no that I did not have time for them to go back that I had to go. After the back and forth with the «manager» for 5 minutes I gave in and let them fix it. She said it would take 2 minutes. Everyone disappeared to the back and fifteen minutes later I was about to start yelling. No one bothered to check in with me and I could not go to the back. If I had not already paid I would have walked out. When they finally came back out I grabbed the arrangement and stormed out. I wish that was all I could say but it’s not. My gma loved the arrangement, after if truly was beautiful. The NEXT day when I spoke to my gma she told me that half of the flowers had already dried up and died. REALLY!!! Sadly I will not be going there again nor will I every recommend them to anyone else.
The service, management, and quality has seriously gone down hill and it is a shame. :/

my wedding floral arrangements were absolutely gorgeous. i literally was blown away when i walked into the ballroom and saw how beautiful everything looked! even better than i had imagined!
i have a few reasons for dropping a star…
2 weeks prior we had the floral sample — it was beautiful. they had set up a table with lighting and all, so i could really get an idea of what it would look like. my planner had even gone to my venue and borrowed a linen and charger so i could get the full effect. the issue here was that rick never made it bc he got tied up with another meeting.
i understand that flowers are dependent if the shipment comes in and based on availability. but my wedding day bouquet was so far from what i had asked for. they were able to fix the bouquet on the 3^rd try (about one hour before the ceremony start time).
there were also some issues with the 2 of the flower girl pomanders and the place card table.
overall i was very happy with my flowers. but in being honest i have to admit i was very let down that the above mentioned details happened. rick did refund me the pomanders and place card table mixup. in the end i believe everything that went wrong was bc he was not there on my wedding day and out of town at another event.

Terrible Customer Service — In over 25 years of sales I have NEVER gotten into an argument with a customer — imagine having to put up with attitude from not only their staff, but from the manager? Not only were they rude and un-​resourceful to solve «our» problem, but then wanted to make sure I was accepting the flower arrangement that was not selected. The whole time the problem was due to the broker that took the order (and who without they would not have received this order) and ours because we weren’t where they were supposed to deliver the day before. With so many florists in Miami — I suggest any other to avoid disappointment, frustration, and the unpleasant feeling of paying someone for a job poorly done.

TERRIBLE COMPANY !!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!
When a delivery is not made, you end up talking to reps. who tel you that they just got to work and they don’t know about your your order but it probably will be delivered eventually (they seriously tell you that!)
As expected, the flower is not delivered on my wife’s birthday and they changed their story to «we attempted delivery but you weren’t there» (it is a delivery to my 10,000sq. ft. warehouse with 20 people working in it btw)
Then I asked about order cancellation and they ask you to contact another vendor who sent the order to them and tell you that «they are busy with other customers»
Terrible company to work with. If it’s a special day, there is a very good chance they will fail to do the delivery and provide disasterous customer service on top of that!
If there is a DO NOT BUY! list, they belong there.

It has been over a week since I sent the email and I have never received a reply or phone call… I guess they have no issues with the quality they provided and I in turn have no issue with not doing business with them again.

WOW! This florist is great. The service is incredible and the manager is a pleasure to work with. You are definitely getting what you pay for.
