Great place to have a pit stop before heading out of the airport or before you board. There is plenty of staff and they work hard. I always saw someone doing something, which I love. I had a mojito, since its signature. I’m not a rum drinker, and I don’t like my drinks sweet. The bartender hooked me up how I like it. I also had a beef empanada. Wasn’t impressed, tasted like it came from a box. Which it probably did. Moving on. The rest of the menu actually looks really good. This is chef Lorena Garcia’s restaurant, but God, I hope she doesn’t stand behind that empanada. The small bites and main«creations» were fresh sounding and looking. Next time I will try a salad or wings because they really looked damn good! This place gets me excited about landing in Miami, seafood and mojitos

Stopped in here for drinks and appetizers while walking the Miami deco district and checking out the beaches and shops. There are plenty of places down this stretch that you can stop to eat and drink, but this one appealed to us because there was no loud booming music to annoy you during your relaxation time ;) They have tables along the sidewalk, so plenty of people watching while you sit and relax as well :) Prices were reasonable.

Had a fairly nice lunch eating here while at the airport. It wasn’t super outstanding but it was good enough as a quick bite. I recommend getting the veggie bowl. It has a good combination of veggies plus rice and beans for vegetarians.

The turkey sliders and black bean hummus are great. I also really liked the dragon fruit mojito. For airport food, this is really top notch.

Remarkably good and reasonably priced for an airport restaurant. Service was excellent, too.

While you are waiting at the air port this is a great place for a quick bite. Love the pork sandwich — they know how to do the Cuban in Miami.

In the airport. Good, fresh food fast. And if you are looking for a serious drink – it’s Bacardi.

I had to smoke a cigarette to get the bad taste out of my mouth(I don’t smoke). Pretty sure they served me some form of soften cement.

Ordered an original mojito and a jerk chicken with salad. The mojito was good, some lime, mint and rum, and I might’ve tasted a bit of sugar. It was a perfectly fine drink. The jury chicken salad was terrible, a small amount of chicken on a white-ish sauce with a lot of spices. The chicken by itself would’ve probably been fine, but the mixture of the salad with the dressing included was pretty bad. I know it is airport food but I am sure I can get better food somewhere else. Service was not great, took about 10 minutes to get any attention when the bar was empty in the afternoon. Only thing I liked about my trip here was the mojito. So come for drinks, sit at the bar to get attention, don’t order food, or at least stay away from the jerk chicken salad.

Man I wish this place was every where. Just had the wings and they are fantastic. Sweet with a kick of heat. Perfect combo. I am watching the bar tender sling mojitos like there is no tomorrow. The movie cocktail comes to mind. Pretty hectic here right now but the staff is doing a great job keeping up. Guys and gals give this place a try if ever in the D concourse at miami airport.

Awful. just wanted a nice drink during a layover. table was dirty, asked it to be cleaned, waited at least 5 minutes for that. Then no waitstaff. Asked one person, they said another would be by shortly. At least 10 minutes till we finally got to order. then, no exaggeration, 10 minutes to get 2 of the WORST drinks my friend and I have ever had. They were just terrible. When we wanted to leave we had to again wait forever to get our bill. And, after such awful service and drinks, it was $ 24 for 2 drinks. Of course no prices on the menu. I know it’s the airport so prices are high, but that was ridiculous. AVOIDTHISPLACE!!!

I am just a little mad. We always come here when one if us is flying out of Miami. And we always get mojitos. What a better way to say good bye to Miami than to experience the last drop of this sweet minty nectar? However lately, the drinks have been inconsistent. Today, it was so sweet I felt my teeth clinging. I sent it back(i never do that) and asked to remake it with less syrup. What i got back was a larger glass with club soda added. Common, as a bartender, if you screw up at least dump the drink and remake it, not recycle it. If you come to this bar, watch everyone. There is little trust to be left to the staff.

Food is decent, my drink and server were awesome! Nuff said. Only reason why it’s 4 stars is bcuz it’s in the friggin airport past ckn point and it needs to be like around the corner from my house

Knowing that we were going to have a layover in MIA around dinner time, my husband had scoped out a few places to go. He had his eye on Lorena Garcia’s place but we were not sure if we would find it. As we stumble towards our gate on the last leg of our long travel day we were worried we were going to be relegated to fast food which we had done so well at avoiding while on vacation. Then we found the oasis. We sat ourselves and quickly and began to peruse the menu. I decided on the Shrimp Ceviche wrap and my hubby selected the Jerk Chicken over greens. Both were light and not too heavy of a meal for our last flight home. While the drink menu was very enticing, we passed and both ordered water to rehydrate. If we knew the torturous evening we were going to descend into as we approached the gate, we may have rethought those Mojitos.

I opted for the house Mojito on a short layover… Actually, I wound up bringing it with me for the flight home. I had heard good things about this place and I miss that the original Mojito bar isn’t at the airport anymore. That place was great and even had the sugar cane stalk in the Mojito. $ 11 for a standard Mojito at that old bar, but it tasked like it. This new spot was so-so. $ 9 for a Mojito and it didn’t have much rum in it, plus it was too sour. A friend ordered his as a double($ 15 though) and said that fixed the issue and was great. Oh well, live and learn. Bottom line. I’ve had way better and expect more for the price.

Cheated on the Islander Grill to come here per a friend’s recommendation, and I wasn’t disappointed. Solid option in Terminal D as it offers a good mojito and good enough food. The décor is bright and modern, with a lovely view of the tarmac ;). Bathrooms are just a step away, so that’s helpful. Prices are what you would expect for an airport bar… my mojito was twice the price of my sandwich. If you’re a rum fan, this would be your place.

Not being a fan of rum at all really, when we recently had a delayed flight I was in need of a cocktail and snack. As we were searching the terminal we saw this place. Nice size bar area with a small dining area off to the side. Then they have a walk up counter where you can order empanada’s. On the counter they have a hot case with a great selection of empanada’s. We ordered a chicken and spinach empanada and sat down. A waitress came over to take our cocktail order. They have a fairly large list of cocktails with flavored rum that all looked so good. I ordered a spiked lemonade cocktail with fresh fruit and rum. Seriously this cocktail almost made me a fan of rum, it was so fresh, strong, good size and a decent price for being in the airport. The empanada’s were both very good as well. Our waitress was very young and a bit clueless but my desire was fulfilled and made our delayed flight a bit more pleasant.

During a recent layover in Miami International, in search of a bite to eat, we ended up at the Bacardi Rum Bar & Grill. As always, when in Miami, I have to get my empanada fix! Lucky for me, they had some on their menu. I ordered one chicken and a spinach & cheese. They both had a nice flaky crust and were overall good except they were lacking in the filling. Given this is a Bacardi Rum Bar, we also ordered a couple of mohitos to pass the time. We ordered an original and a limon. Not the best mohito I’ve ever had, but they were actually good and I would stick to the original. Prices were reasonable given it’s in the airport. Our server was also really friendly and also seemed to be constantly smiling. I guess I would be too if I lived in Miami. This is a good option if you have a craving for empanadas, but if you have more time, it’s best if you walk on over to La Carreta or Versailles.

From Kiosk to Hole in the Wall. The Rum Bar is a great way to spend those few hours of layover before the airline loses your luggage, your sanity, and your desire to actually go home after your holiday. I was here last year when it was just a kiosk and the bartender was the friendliest, sweetest and the lovliest of ladies to serve drinks. Keep in mind that it’s still an airport bar located by the American Airlines island hopping wing, but it does what it’s supposed to do. Offer you that distraction, so you forget how poorly planned the airport is, how badly you don’t want to go back to work at home and most importantly, if you’re headed to your holiday vacation, it is a great way to start your festivities. Ok, you have your standard Mojito, the Dragonberry Mojito and Island style drinks. Who cares… it’s not any cheaper than on the plane itself, but the bathroom is much closer and not as cramped. All you care about at this stage is just drinking, trying to kill those hours while the Sweet, sweet rum kills what’s remaining of those silly brain cells. You don’t need it really… you’re either going on Holiday or you’re going back home and eventually back to work. Might as well let them die the slow death that they deserve. So, if you’re stuck at MIA… have a good drink and have it here.

We had a 4 hour layover and was pretty hungry. That morning we were up at 5AM to catch our 8AM flight from St Maarten. We only had coffee and a pretzel with a 2.5 hour flight staring at us. There were familiar restaurants at the Miami airport, but we opted for the Bacardi Rum Bar & Grill, at the airport website it is listed as the Casa Bacardi. My wife had the Tamales with Black Beans which she enjoyed immensely. I tried the Cuban Sandwich which had slices of roasted pork loin, brown sugar cured ham, cheese and crispy pickle on Cuban bread and french fries. It was a little dry, but very filling. The crispy pickle added another dimension to the sandwich. We aren’t drinkers of rum, but the light beer on tap was enjoyable.
