Barry University

One if the best decisions of my life was going to Barry! Especially the School of Social Work! The smaller classes allow for a more inclusive and intimate environment that greatly enhances the educational climate!

can’t say much about the school because I only came to campus for a charity event to support the Social work department. The event was a hit and the students and people I met were amazing.
The campus has easy visitor parking on one side of the street. You can easily cross the street to find the building you’re looking for. Campus was clean and well landscaped. Bathrooms were spotless as well. From my understanding, this is a Catholic private University.

It is currently my second year at Barry. I transferred from Johnson & Wales University. This school has a really beautiful campus. The residence halls are decent, too. It also has a really friendly community. The dinning service provider is the same as JWU, Chartwells. However, the dinning service here is in the form of a buffet. The food can be better, but it has its days when food is really good. Almost all the professors are really friendly and willing to help the students out. Overall, the school is nice, but it can be improved.
You can’t pick which freshman hall to move into. If you want to switch, I recommend Dalton & Dunspaugh Hall (D&D) or Browne Hall.
*For D&D, the Dunspaugh side has two people rooms and uses community bathrooms.
*The Dalton side has two people rooms with shared-​private bathrooms (shared between two rooms).
*Browne Hall has two people rooms with shared-​private bathrooms. It is also an outdoor hall.
If you’re picking an upperclassmen hall, I recommend Kolasa Hall or Dominican Hall.
*Kolasa Hall consists of single rooms with private bathrooms and two people rooms with private bathrooms. The benefit of living in Kolasa is that it’s closer to classes.
*Dominican Hall consists of two people rooms with shared-​private bathrooms and suites consisting of four single rooms with private-​shared bathrooms. The benefit of living in Dominican is that the first floor has a smoothie place (JuiceBlendz) and a convenience store (C-​Store).

Barry DOES suck, literally (some male professors). tried to get a «verification of graduation» for licensure for over 2 months! 60K in tuition and some dumb PhD can’t fill out a simple form. After 3 days of screaming at them, they finally filled it out and sent it to the state… INCORRECTLY FILLED OUT!!! It was returned to Barry to fill out correctly! I have lost over 2 months of wages because some idiot PhD can’t read/​write English.
hoe nuns who run the school are money grubbers and have no morals, just want tha cash.

Graduated in May 2013 with my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from here. I love this school so much. My professors and colleagues made me feel like family. The program was rigorous and transformational. I strongly recommend this college to anyone.

This place sux. Transfer as soon as possible.

Want here for 2 years for my masters in mental health counseling. I’d give it a 4 based on the coursework and teachers but the facilities are pretty dated and not as clean as you’d like so I can’t.
Slightly pricey for what it is but it works.

It is a Beautiful looking campus. Every department I have visited so far has been extremely nice and helpful. I actually do not start classes till May, so we will see how all that goes. Wi-​fi connectivity seems to be a challenge on campus, very spotty and couldnt seem to be able to log into it.

Beautiful, green campus. Great classes, but the teachers are hit or miss. I am in the BMS program here (Masters in Biomedical Sciences). One big problem I see with the school is the safety. Security on campus has increased, so hopefully there won’t be any more car break-​ins!

GREAT UNIVERSITY! I am really only basing my review on their nursing program but if you’re considering it as an option – go for it! Professors that are passionate about their craft and actually care about your success? Who would’ve thought! :-)
