Batting Cage Sports Bar

We were hesitant to come here because of the many negative reviews. We showed up about an hour and a half before a Marlins game and there was only one person at the bar (by the time we left, 3 more people had come in). We sat at the bar, and the bartender Raiza was very friendly, efficient, and helpful. The menu is pretty limited but reasonably priced. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, three sliders, bucket of tostones, and cheese sticks; as well as several rum and coke’s and screwdrivers. The total came out to around $ 90. The food was actually quite good and generously portioned. The only problem I can agree with other reviewers about is the fact that it is cash only, but we were told about this the moment we sat down. The fact that it was empty was not a problem, we were looking for a quick meal, not a club. The food was great and the service was excellent, I will be coming back here before or after Marlins games in the future.

let me tell you this place is ratcheted. .it could be for a simple beer or any type of food. i went to this place after i came out of a marlins baseball game with no cash only my debit card and credit card when i finished my quick bit to eat and a few beers only cash wtf… they should go into this place to see how much tax evasion they commit on a daily basis it’s too much of a pattern in most places in little havana specially the batting cage…

I would not recommend for you to go to this place on an event night. For example mayweather vs pacquio $ 200 minimum for a table and they let you know once you go in and paid for entrance. Luckly we were a big group so we got the table. Well we ordered food had our drinks and everything. When we asked for the billed our waitress stated that they are only taking CASH. I asked to speak to a manager because i felt that i wasnt provided the right info from the moment I walked to the establishment. To find out the Manager is extremely rude. Not once did she said «I apologize» it was more of her bickering with the waitress about why the info was provided.
So i went again. Labor day weekend 2015! I figured hey let me try this again… well it was a horrible decision. I paid $ 20 for entrance in cash… I went for the night/​club vibe so I went in prepared to buy a bottle. Well the bottle was $ 180 in CASH only and i had to use their ATM. So when i tried using their ATM the machine was not working. So we tried using the ATM across the street and it was down too. We had to get in our cars and drive to the nearest bank. I call this an Inconvenience for their customers who has had more than 4 cups of liquor. I gave this a 2^nd chance and it failed me again.

This place is terrible. We stopped in after a Marlins game expecting to get the after game feel of a sports bar. We couldn’t have been more wrong. When we stepped in, the place looked like a closed down night club with nothing going on. We decided to have one drink and see how it was. We ordered 2 whiskey and ginger ales and the bill came to $ 18. Not only that, but she poured scotch. Needless to say we would never go back and would warn anyone else to stay away.

Terrible. Was passing by and wanted to catch a game on a Friday night. I needed to pay to park in their lot (Marlins weren’t playing). They also had a cover charge! So much for a sports bar. Will never go back.

Great place to grab a drink/​bite before the game! Was here yesterday afternoon and back today for beer & snacks before the game again.

Absolutely horrible. Walked in, 6 – 8 people at bar, bartender walking back and forth asking «who’s wings are these» and just stood there trying to figure it out as we were standing there waiting for beers. (she ended up giving them away) we ordered a pitcher and she looked around, didn’t see one, so asked another chick at bar to go in back and get one. Before she even got up, the dummy behind the bar grabs a pitcher off the bar which was about ¹⁄₃ of the way filled, tossed remaining beer in sink and proceeded to fill it up with our beer without even cleaning or rinsing it ! A couple stranger at the bar even stated how nasty that was, we walked out before we all ordered a meal. They lost out on 4 guys eating and drinking there a couple hours before the game because of that incident. Would rather go to the Bowl Bar (brothel/​bar) next door !

Overpriced, bad service, too overcrowded with young kids, basically teenagers; its basically a teen bar! No parking and seedy area. Anyone over 25 who wants a semi classy place – stay away!

Went here for Happy Hour before a Marlins game, if you can call it Happy Hour when there are no specials. Everything was overpriced and they hand you a beer list that does not have any beers you would want to order. The problem is there are very limited options around the ballpark so this is pretty much the only place to go. It is an extremely strange bar that only gets stranger after 10pm when it essentially transforms into a night club. They have VIP and table service and people are ordering bottles in what was only hours before a sports bar. They even have the audacity to try and charge a cover late at night. Now this place may be the epitome of Miami and it may be the only affordable and close option near Marlins Park, but I would still recommend avoiding it however possible.

Worse place to visit! Management, Food, Service, and OWNERS are absolutely terrible! Lets begin with the fact they charge an immense amount at the entrance. Secondly, you can only pay cash or AMEX like your in a 3^rd world country. By the way, they’ll only notify you this after you eat, when the place its completely filled and the ATM is completely out of the way, management is completely incompetent said we had to wait till the restaurant was empty for her to even acknowledge the inconvenience! She’s an arrogant woman, who only wants your money without providing the service clients demand. It’s the average mediocre Hispanic restaurant, with mediocre service and owners!

This place is run so bad I want to start a kick starter campaign to demolish it. It is awful. Be prepared to wait forever for everything, anything! This restaurant/​bar should be a gold mine across the street from the park but they have no clue. Don’t chance it! You’ve been warned. Credit card payment issues at the end of the meal. Really poor. Nothing against our server, she wasn’t the problem, it’s just poor all around.

The first time I came I loved it for the music & food. Went right before the world baseball classic game. Service was pretty quick considering our urgency to leave. Second time was a little different. I went to watch the continuation of the series and I have to say my experience was different. The audio was extremely loud and I was hoping that during commercial they would play music. Commercials were blasting during a moment of interaction. I had expressed my concern to the manager. It seemed as if my request didn’t have merit. I heard people complaining and raising concern but nothing had been done to resolve the issue. As I read a few comments before writing my review I realized it is an ongoing problem.
I really like the food, atmosphere and service (mainly the bus boys). What saves this place is how nice it is… a diamond in the ruff. I still think its a cool place. They just need to make some modifications.

I went to this place one weekend to check it out. Oh boy Was I in for a surprise. The place Is full of chongas and is playing a lot of reggaton and Spanish music. Me personally I don’t like reggaton but I think meringue is ok. Totally not my type of club, not to mention the service sucks. I was waiting for ever to get the waitress attention. But I guess if your into reggaton it will be a decent place for you check out.

When this place first opened they tried to be a high end sports bar. It was nice and the food was good. As the crowds started to die and the place fell into a identity crisis. Did they want to cater to the crowds that come for the games… or did they want to be a reggaeton dance club to compete with the seedy bars near by… well i will let you decide the direction its taken… the menu is a shell of its old self… that being said… not a bad place to come to and get drunk at…

Headed to what I thought would be a casual sports bar joint with some younger friends o’ mine. Located immediately adjacent to the Marlins stadium, Batting Cage manages to find an escape from the lethargic rhythm and pace often associated with baseball.
After about 11 or 12 o’clock this place blasts music like crazy. I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into until I turned into the parking lot and heard the booming vibrations. My friends and I were stoked as we lined up at the entrance. Simple dance floor setup with a VIP station in the back. Hookah and exquisite cocktails help create a rich and vivacious atmosphere. The bartenders are amazingly friendly and made me some of the best drinks I’ve ever had.
If you’re looking for a latin nightclub and have your salsa shoes on but also enjoy a youthful hip-​hop swing, be sure to hit up the batting cages.

Don’t go there for the nightclub. The security guard in the front door was disrespectful and it’s just a ghetto, low class environment. The DJ just speaks over the music all night long and it was really annoying. It’s Miami!!! There are awesome clubs all over the city. Don’t go here for night life.

Great place to go before the game great food wasn’t expecting it to be so great but when the food came out I felt as if I was in fine dinning with 5star food but still it kept the in the game feel

This place is always being (heavily) promoted on Radio Zol and even on the streets so I HAD to check it out to see what all the buzz was about. I went on a Sat night (even though Fridays are supposed to be their best nights) and I must say it wasn’t bad at all. The crowd was decent and the set-​up is nice. I really liked the music– they mostly played Perico Ripiao, Reggaeton, and Salsa and right before I left I «three-​stepped» to a Bachata song.
They have your typical «bar» menu. I ordered a sampler platter (my way) and everything was tasty. My waitress was on point and spoke English. She took a little long to bring the drinks– which I forgave since the place was packed. Unfortunately when I finally got my drinks they weren’t good. I asked for Goose and must’ve gotten Duck! Note to self: Order beers next time!
Overall Batting Cage wasn’t a HOME RUN for me but I had a good time. I probably won’t be a «regular» here but I might SWING through every now and then.

When Batting Cage opened, I visited various times. The management provided flyers near the ballpark during games to allure baseball fans to come visit the establishment. The flyers changed on occasion, sometimes it read a percentage off your entire check, other times it read: «free drink with purchase.» The management would also give out free drink cards. I have to admit, I liked their energy in trying to build a name for the establishment.
Recently, I entered past midnight because I had heard by word-​of-​mouth that it turns into a spanish club at night. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was definitely a bit of a shock. The door charges gentlemen $ 10.00 on a Friday night to enter and ladies are free. I didn’t see any food being served, only the bar was opened. It was quite a crowd but easy to walk around and the music was blaring. The DJ mainly played underground spanish reggaeton and the occasional salsa songs. I don’t think they have the necessary ventilation for the amount of people partying inside because I felt like passing out from the heat. However, I think if I would have come in a spaghetti strap and some jeans or dress shorts I would have been okay.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place to dance to spanish music, then visit on a Friday night.
