I’m gonna just put it this way… I am having problems with a co-worker. a couple of them in fact. I went there on Friday. As of today the main witch bitch has been sick for two days. This place sells the stuff you need to get things done! Oh, and the other wench? Coming down with something… mwajajajaja … I’ll be back…

The owners are so kind and helpful! Normally, with any other botanica in Miami that I have visited, I feel somehow threatened or scared. I love this store because it’s so welcoming. The owners are always ready to answer any questions you have, and always give the best spiritual advice.

This botanica is a nice place with a very nice vibe. There are no weird looking idols, masks or artifacts, it is just a nice, clean bright space with everything organized and cataloged in detail. It is run by a family of Santeria practitioners, which seems to be the case with every botanica in Miami and possibly the world. The small space guarantees a very personalized treatment once you come in. Any questions that you may have related to the merchandise, or religious practices, will be answered right on the spot, in detail, and if you didn’t get it the first time, you will be retold, patiently, until you get it right. This shop stands out because it is strategically located in the heart of Little Havana, and it serves many Santeros around the area. I have not visited many times, but on those times I have been able to meet a few important figures in the Santero community, as well as practitioners. This little shop is like the South Beach of the Santero community. At Botanica Negra Francisca you find some religious figures, lots of necklaces, bracelets, rings, lots of candles in all colors, sizes and shapes. There are perfumes, colognes, fruits, baskets, clothes, bowls, bunch of stuff that you need if you practice Santeria. Finally, there are lots of books, pictures and images, all necessary to further your knowledge, curiosity, or simply as reference. Like I said, this botanica is very welcoming and very warm, and the people that run it are super cool and friendly. The family here do not talk in a weird secret arcane language, and they are not trying to turn you into a zombie, or steal your soul. Coming here is not like walking into a dark bat cave, it is more like approaching a torch of light or a lighthouse. The lady serving here also encourages you to explore your spiritual side. It doesn’t matter what religion you practice, she will treat you with respect. The small size and inconspicuous façade of this botanica make it a nice stop for hard to find items. It is also part of the tourist trail that comes to Little Havana, so they welcome everyone and are very informative, even candid about the ignorance that surrounds the Santeria religion. Next time you are walking down this area, stop by and pick up some incense, it is the best deal in Miami. Six pack of incense cost what you pay for one single box. Candles are also dirt cheap. Please, come in.
