Too bad. Closed for good. I hope the chef lands on his feet he is awesome– innovative and great technique. We went last week and had a great meal but there were only two other tables of people the whole time. And with only wine, sake and beer they couldn’t make it with a happy hour crowd. So sad for the neighborhood, it was one of the best meals in Brickell.

Box Park is exactly what Brickell needed – an upscale restaurant, without the upscale attitude and with food that is as innovative as it is incredibly delicious. Chef Matt Hinckley creates mindful dishes with farm fresh ingredients that are unlike anything else you’ll find at other restaurants in this city. I was lucky enough to try most of the dishes and I honestly didn’t taste anything that didn’t blow me away. Start with the daily bread; Florida mango with burrata and basil; grilled octopus with arugula; crispy duck confit with sweet potato hash(this was perhaps my favorite dish of all – perfectly cooked crispy duck); Brickell Pickles(omg!) and the fried alligator. If you can handle it, the Everglades alligator gumbo, a hearty, savory soup is a must! Also a must-try is the Hawaiian duck pizza. For dessert, order the«ten-fidy split,» Box Park’s take on a traditional banana split that features imperial stout ice cream, banana, decadent chocolate fudge, and peanuts. Grab every spoon in sight – this baby is too good to share! Side note: I highly recommend you go with a group and order several dishes, that way you can try as many as you can.

Read about this place in a magazine. Drove down. The menu was less impressive at first sight but our AMAZING waitress went above and beyond and asked the chef and came back with all sorts of recommendations for us. We weren’t easy. I’m vegan and my wife eats meat but very picky about the cut. The waitress and the chef treated us as if it was our own private dining restaurant. The hostess was just as awesome! Food was just as amazing as the service. We loved the experience. A++!

I came here on Wednesday for lunch with some friends and truly enjoyed myself. I have been here many times before all each time is a new refreshing experience. This is my new favorite restaurant! I love everything about about Box Park. The food is healthy and fresh. All ingredients are brought in from local farms. The staff has great customer service and are more than willing to educate clients on what their restaurant is about. I recommend Box Park to anyone interested in trying something new =)

Lunch at Box Park is as good as it gets. The restaurant is decorated in lovely calm colors with soft music playing in the background. You can see the food being prepared in the open kitchen and the bar is very elegant with back lighting and mirrors. The food is excellent, very eclectic and using local seasonal fruits and vegetables. Our Grilled Eggplant and Burrata was so good; the eggplant was grilled just right and the mozzarella cheese very tasty. The Citrus Cured Florida Grouper was a generous serving of ceviche with lots of fresh cilantro and a great slice of sweet potato. We then had an Ancient Grain Salad chock full of fresh ingredients and very filling. We also enjoyed the Grilled Summer Squash. Our waiter, Alex, was attentive and could answer all questions about the menu. At the end of the meal, Ryan, the bartender made us a special espresso with Gran Marnier, cloves, and sweet condensed milk. A great ending to a wonderful meal.

Great place for Sunday brunch! The mini muffins were not only adorable but amazing. We also tried the fried alligator, duck fries, and the pork mofongo which were all excellent. Very great atmosphere and service. Can’t wait to come during the week for dinner and drinks next door at the Hoxton

I want to give 5 stars… I really do… but I think the fact that this place was empty at 9:30pm on a Friday night turned me off a tiny bit. Hopefully they just did a bad job of advertising their opening. Now the important stuff… the food was delicious! My favorite dish: the Duck Confit. It was perfectly cooked with 2 sauces. The service was also great… But that might be because we had 3 servers to ourselves. They change their menu often so I’d be curious to come back for another try.

Good location in Mary Brickell Village and a hip, urban ambiance. The big feature is the adventurous(at least for Miamians, who seem to only understand large portions of beef as befitting a meal) and well-prepared menu items. We had the fried alligator, duck confit, gumbo, ancient bean salad and chorizo/octopus pizza. All were terrific with the only exception being the pizza, which while well-prepared were light on the featured ingredients. Box Park, make a stand, forge ever deeper into foodie land and don’t conform to the limited taste buds of Miami! Miami, don’t let this rare gem expire for another plate of meat!!!

Elegant local ingredients with a rich, eclectic edge make Box Park’s menu both interesting and well-rounded. Their Florida-inspired flavors and seasonal recipes compliment the clean style and warm hues of the interior design, creating a sexy yet subdued atmosphere. The ambiance is sophisticated without being too much of a production and the perfect place for a casually intimate evening. Service is some of the best I’ve found in Brickell and a refreshing change from the usual Miami vibe. Not surprising to learn Box Park is owned by the Hoxton — it’s the perfect pair to the ambient lounge next door.

Great restaurant. I have to say, I believe that is the best wait service I have had since moving to Miami. Impeccable. The menu is inspired. The ambiance is good. Just an overall good experience.

If you want«different and eccentric», you got it here! I came here with a few friends to see what this restaurant had to offer, and I was definitely amazed. Try the Everglades alligator jumbo– it is juicy and the ingredients mix amazing together! Try everything on the menu actually– be adventurous! I have tried the alligator at restaurants by the Everglades, and this restaurant definitely exceeds what they serve. The alligator is fresh, and in other places it isn’t so fresh and fried(they also serve fried alligator here, btw), this place definitely opened my eyes to what a true alligator tastes like. Juicy, tender, and succulent. This place is also very trendy with bold wood furniture, and the waiters are extremely friendly and answer any questions you may have. Word to the pizza lover: they have a section of their menu dedicated towards«pizza». I haven’t tried their pizza yet, but I heard from my friend that the one with duck ham is quite delicious. It is definitely a culinary adventure here. And the adventure continues…

Excellent and unique addition to Brickell. Everglades Gumbo — wild boar andouille. alligator. shrimp. okra. sassafras — wow! Get there soon and tell your friends — not sure the Downtown Miami millennial crowd is going to get this one.

Box Park opened up a few days ago next door to its sister restaurant Hoxton Urban Beach Club. I haven’t been to Hoxton, but had the pleasure of dining at Box Park this evening. The restaurant is fairly small, with probably ten 2-tops and five or six 4-tops, however also features bar seating and several seats facing the open kitchen. The menu is certainly eclectic, with a focus on local ingredients. You’ll find things like Alligator, Amberjack Jerky, Wild Boar, Duck and other homemade charcuterie, and various fruits and vegetables native to the area. I think this is a fantastic idea, similar to the approach Sustain took — however I fear that Miami may not be(or may never be) ready for this type of restaurant. I certainly hope I’m wrong, but the Saturday night I dined with Box Park, it was 40% full. I’m not sure if the restaurant will be able to generate the hype necessary to survive in a super high rent area given the foray outside of the«Brickell Recipe» — Argentinean Steakhouse, Irish Bar, Venezuelan or Colombian arepas, Ceviche, or Americanized Italian.(As a painful illustration of this phenomenon, both of the new Japanese places, Momi and Sumi were completely empty both before and after arriving at Box Park — heart breaking). The service was excellent as the server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was clearly excited by it. We sampled: — Brickell Pickles, essentially an assortment of pickled fruits and vegetables, including lychee, pole beans, cucumbers, various tuberous items, and a star bean. — Daily Bread — an assorted, homemade bread basket with EVOO and an Egyptian spice mix with caraway seeds and other spices that was very interesting. — Bone Marrow — appropriately portioned with charred bread and a little salad to cut the fat. — Mutton Snapper Ceviche — decent but a bit on the bland side — on second thought, with all of the great ceviche choices in Miami, expectations may have been a bit high. That said, every restaurant in Miami does not have to have a Ceviche dish on it — I’d consider removing this one. — Ancient Grains Salad — this was the plate of the night — an assortment of all kinds of legumes and grains including freekeh, quinoa, sprouts, and a bunch of others lightly conditioned with EVOO. — Cold Beet Salad — done well with the beets not being overly candied and cloying, and a yogurt topping. — Roasted Quail — I actually would have liked to try the Everglades Gumbo with Wild Boar Andouille sausage, Alligator and Shrimp, however we elected for the Quail. It was decent but not a star — a little dry and not too interesting, however it did bring a tasty spinach or mustard green salad. The wine list is pretty limited, although they did have a Syrah from the Northern Rhone that was pretty solid. Beer selection is small but luckily nothing from the«unholy trinity»(Corona, Bud, Miller Lite). They had a Monk in the Trunk, Dogfish 60, Brooklyn Lager and a few others. Nothing to write home about, but at least one is not obligated to drink fizzy yellow pee.
