This is a good place to have drinks and hang out with friends. I came here to meet some friends and just mingle. It’s not a place I would look forward to but more like a meeting spot. They have an outdoor patio which is kind of cool but that’s about it. It’s close to all the other places to visit in Wynwood. As a hangout spot to have drinks and meet up, it’s a perfect place.

On my own? I never would have known about this place. I was brought here by a friend that has been here already. The perfect spot if you need to waste some time before heading somewhere else. After two beers, a mutual friend met-up with us here. We had one more beer before heading to our destination at a neighboring business. To and fro, it was only a couple of minutes on foot. Wynwood was quiet, plenty of metered parking throughout. It was, after all, a Tuesday night. The first thing that struck me about this bar is its simplicity. A large bar stretches from one end to the other. It’s a narrow space. A few tables are scattered away from the bar. There are two entrances. One in the back through a large parking lot, and, one on the main road. Each leads you directly to the bar. A very high ceiling with exposed air ducts. Some shelving on the wall displaying their beers. These can be purchased«to-go» in their large bottles. The selections of beers are not typical and unique. Like, for example, my choice for beer for the evening. I chose their Chinga tu Pelo. Me being from Hialeah, I pretty much had to order this. What this beer lacks in alcohol content, it makes-up with taste. I know I sound like a «beer connoisseur» online sometimes, but, I am not. Beer is always my third choice. This thing was delicious and refreshing. It went down very nicely. Now, when I say«lacks in alcohol content,» I am comparing it to other beers that I have had already. Where the main goal is, to get fucking drunk… quick. This one, if I remember correctly, has a 4.7% alcohol content. That isn’t bad at all and I was feeling quite lovely on the way to our destination. Thing is, when I was younger, I did have my suburban ghetto moments. Ghetto moments where Old English was my beer of choice. They have some light bites on the menu. It’s a simple menu. A one sided paper page has it all. It’s cute, modern, conveniently located in Wynwood and serves its purpose. I will be stopping in here again for a beer. P. S.: Sorry for the mess I caused at the bar. My shakes become minimaller after the first drink. As you saw once you gave me a larger glass.

I absolutely love this place… amazing beer choices and the gourmet popcorn is out of this world. Just try the Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn and worry about running off the calories later. The service is always welcoming and the bartenders know their beers. I like the vibe inside and the picnic style seating outside. You simply have to give this place a visit when you are in Wynwood!

Box elder has the best beer selection for ordering at the bar AND buying a bottle or six pack to go. The service is friendly, it’s never crowded and it’s REASONABLYPRICED(ahem Butcher Shop, you highway robbers). Happy hour is 20% off beers I believe. Be cool and come here. P. S. The music is also cool and they play sports on the tv’s for you sports fans.

Great place! Coming back every year to miami and discovering these kind of places makes me happy. Great selection of beers and the staff is very friendly. Lighting is a little too much, too bright for a bar. That is my only«but» about his place.

This place is pretty much what you except when you think of a hipster brewery. It’s low key and has a nice ambience. The beer was great and prices weren’t bad. The best part is they have different flavored gourmet popcorn(which I believe is homemade). My friend went for the $ 4 cookies and cream popcorn and it was quite delicious. Unexpected, but highly welcomed. I went with the Resin beer. Overall, this is a well-rounded beer. High percentage of alcohol, but doesn’t comprise the flavor. It’s not too strong, but rather light. It’s a New York brew. The price is also only $ 7, which I think is affordable for this kind of place. Located right next to Brickhouse. Good location and fun place to meet up with friends for a couple beers.

Came and visited a friend in town and we hit up this spot. In my opinion the beer was just okay. It also seemed a bit pricey for the quality. The bartenders were not very amiable, and it seemed to me that they were tending more to their buddies instead of the customers. I visit Miami often, but eh, we probably wont try again.

Mediocre beer choices, rude service. The geniuses who designed the spot decided to line the walls with full beer bottles stacked from the floor to the ceiling unshielded from the patrons. Ran up a considerable bill and then accidentally knocked over one of the hundreds of beer bottles adorning the wall with my purse and a middle aged bartender with a dirty beard insisted on charging me for it and castigated me for my mistake in front of everyone. Unbelievable that they would be so rude to a customer over a stale beer. Will not return.

As a huge beer fan and beer/flavor aficionado, I was initially excited about a wynwood hotspot with a sexy name serving me new, refined brews. Please, broaden my horizons. Much disappointment. I sought out Boxelder with a small group of friends. I was confronted with some of the meanest, worst service… Even by Miami’s very low standards. They were hostile about discussing beer or sampling and probably as a result, I wasn’t impressed with the selection. It’s good they’re blessed with a cute storefront and great location.

Fair warning: this place ain’t cheap. If you want cheap, this might be a place to skip. What you’re paying for though isn’t just beer. 1) You’re forking out for ambiance. That’s right, I’ll wager this is one of the most chic and comfortable places to have a beer in the whole of Miami. 2) You’re paying for knowledge. Every. single. tender. here knows his ANDHER way around the beer world. Don’t like beer? Show up and have one of their specialists fix you. Tell them what flavors you like, and they will hook you up. Makes me wish I was in Wynwood more often, but hey, I’d probably go broke just shooting the sh1t with these awesome people. Cheers!

Centrally located in the Heart of Wynwood… This place has an amazing vibe with a cool eclectic & industrial feel… We came during a Sunday afternoon and loved it! Great place for Groups or Chill non pretentious date. They have a wide variety of craft beers & they also offer Wine… They informed us the beers change daily… They offer a variety of popcorn & beef jerky’s to snack on… While you enjoy some craft beer. We had the buffalo cheddar popcorn & it was awesome. It had a spicy kick to it, so if you like spicy I def recommend! The bartender Nicole was extremely friendly & nice… She was very knowledgeable on the available selection and provided us with selections that were of our taste. Def recommend this place to hang out & enjoy the cool Wynood area! Enjoy!

Awesome chill spot! I came here with a group of coworkers and we had an excellent time! I’m actually not much of a beer drinking but one thing I will drink is hard apple cider. I’m a baby i know, but luckily for me they had cider! Not only was it an awesome ambiance but, they also had 2 large picnic tables in the back where you can hear the music from Brick house playing. The night I went, they had a food truck in the picnic area and it was a company called, The Lone Wolfe food truck and they serve Mexican fusion cuisine. Excellent food, excellent beer, plus awesome friends? Can’t beat that. I’ll definitely be returning!

My boyfriend and I wandered in while exploring Wynwood Walls and were so pleasantly surprised by the vibe and selection. This place is all kinds of amazing. I’m not a beer snob by any means, but my boyfriend loves beer, and he was smiling from ear to ear. Not only do they offer great, hard-to-find beers on tap(including seasonal selections), but I tried their white chocolate/caramel popcorn and went to heaven. I also loved the strawberry kombucha! It’s a great, spacious place to spend a few hours. I loved sitting around the bar and sampling great beers in a relaxing, quiet setting. Such a gem in Miami!

Love this place. Has been on my bookmarked list for quite a while. I saw their Boxelder«can» glasses and knew I had to get in to steal one! Turns out they sell them so I didn’t need to fake break one so I could stuff it in my jacket. Karma hit avoided. Their market concept is pretty cool. They don’t brew beer, but they do sell it. So that means you can get pours from across Florida and beyond. Which is nice because it can taste-limiting to be locked into one brand’s suds. Started off with the Tourist Trappe. A super tasty Belguim beer. Has a heavy alcohol hand but is still very much drinkable. I could have had a few. Asked the awesome bartender how the barley wine(can’t recall the name) was and she let me sample it beforehand. Good thing. Another high ABV beer. I tend to like barley wines… however this one tasted like it started out as some kind of IPA and was mutated. The bitter hops taste overwhelmed any of the warming qualities I usually get from strong beers. I changed tunes and went with the coffee porter(again with the not remembering names!), man was it good. All it needed was two scoops of vanilla ice cream and it would have made an excellent dessert. Loved the color and taste. You could really discern the coffee it was made with. Grabbed a bag of Lime Siracha popcorn to munch on while libating. It was locally created and very yummy. There was a nice selection of various popcorns and other finger foods. They have a back patio with benches to sit outside. It started pouring as soon as we parked so we just looked out the windows. There is a parking lot back there too! They also sell bottles and cans and growlers. Stop in, grab some drink and relax before your next stop in Wynwood.

I came here relatively recently on a date(or the beginning of a date, anyway), around the time that Boxelder opened its doors for business. The idea was to have a couple beers somewhere where we could set up shop with a game of scrabble. For some reason — I can’t remember why — I was dead set on disliking this place. Boxelder won me over anyway. I got there a little early(or at least earlier than my companion) and sat down at the long bar that takes up most of the interior of this place. Because there aren’t too many tables or chairs, just a long wooden bar, the place immediately feels cozy and warm when you walk in. The bartender took some time to help me pick out a beer he thought I might like; whatever he chose was excellent. Everyone here was friendly and helpful — you really get the idea that everyone wants you to be comfortable and relax. Once my date arrived we headed outside to sit at a table. They have a great space and I think my one gripe with this place is that right now they’re not doing enough with it. When I went they only had 2 little tables, and a food truck outside. This could be a great extension to the indoor bar, but it needs some more furniture for sure. The place is also(maybe primarily?) a beer market; so you can pick up growlers, local beer, and other accessories here when you sit down to grab a beer or whenever else. Great beer, great people, and a close proximity to everything else Wynwood make this a nice place to start your evening or just sit down for a drink.

Like beer, like Wynwood(for now anyways)? Well behold the newest, latest and greatest is on the very edge of the Wynwood border, Boxelder. It’s had a soft opening already(if I had a dime every time someone in this town mentioned ‘soft opening’ to me…), but I’m pretty sure they are officially open for business. Enjoy a variety of craft brews. The place itself is nice and warm, yet industrial. They’ve got a lil soundsystem to keep your toes tapping. Which is kind of important. If you go to J. Wakefield’s you’ll notice the difference. J.W.‘s only has a tini tiny soundsystem befitting of a nightstand, which I thought was odd. But anyway; hey now Wynwood has a healthy variety of beer spots to check out. Boxelder call themselves a bottleshop and a taproom. So I take that to mean that you can buy bottles, i.e. growlers and take them to go… YIPPIE!

Love beer? Go to Wynwood. Where in Wynwood, is the more difficult question. And to make the choice more challenging(or, more interesting), Boxelder is now open for business. Boxelder currently has 20 beers on tap, and as expected, quite a few from local breweries. You can get popcorn here to go with your beer. There will be bottles for sale as well, though at today’s grand opening, it is not available yet. Look forward to pick up some interesting bottles here. As this place is on the edge of Wynwood, parking is not too difficult.

New beer market in wynwood… minimalist décor. kinda of industrial. good selection of beers. one cider which was ok. They also offer wine… the owner was friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and non pretentious. This place has potential… it def has some competition in this neck of the woods. Will check out again in the near future.
