Budget Auto Shipping

I have used Budget Auto Shipping the past two years and was fairly pleased until I called recently to ship my car back to Boston. Gerson had given me a round trip quote of $ 2000 but I paid most of that for the first leg. I was supposed to get the return trip for the $ 550 balance but Gerson was no longer with the company so I ended up with the owner Camilo. Even though I had the invoices for both legs this guy claimed that a. I had not been given a round trip quote, b. the invoice was out of date even though it had the earliest return date on it of 4÷15÷2015 and c. he would not honor the price. I offered a compromise that we split the difference since we both felt on the short end of the deal and he adamantly refused to even consider it. Both of the employees (Alex and Gerson) that I have worked with in the past are gone in an 18 month period. Camilo can’t keep his employees or the company’s promises. STAY AWAY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN LIKE I WAS!!!

These guys lie to your face and don’t give a damn if you are happy or not.
First they said they would pick it up on the 1^st. So I make plane reservations for the 2^nd. Then they say this was only the first day of a 3 – 5 day window. How was I supposed to know that?
So I had to make my flight to Hawaii leaving the keys with a friend. It was finally picked up on the 4^th for shipment on the 5^th to arrive here on the 15^th. Didn’t happen. The driver got it to the port too late on the 4^th so it had to wait for the next boat.
Then I’m told it will definitely be here on the bot coming in on the 22^nd. Well, that’s today and still no car. Not only that but nobody seems to know where it is.
I can understand that sometimes things happen like extreme weather causing a delay, but that’s why god invented the internet. If there is a delay, drop someone a 30 second email.
But no, I spent all morning standing on a dock waiting for a car to roll off that wasn’t there.
With all of the money I’m spending on renting a car while waiting, one of the more expensive services would still have come out to be cheaper.
Run, don’t walk, as far away from these hucksters as possible.

My car was supposed to be delivered to Hilo 2 days ago. It hasn’t arrived yet and I called Budget to see what happened. According to the person I spoke to, they take money to arrange the cheapest transport for their customers and then don’t give a sh** past that.
If customer service means anything, these guys haven’t discovered it. The man I spoke to was the rudest human being I’ve encountered in ages, he refused to let me speak, he refused to accept that my car delivery being weeks past when promised is an inconvenience to me… he was the biggest asshole I ever dealt with on the phone.
I wish I’d known how horrible they were going to be because I would have spent more to not be treated so cruelly.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Sincerely. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with ever and that’s saying a lot. I wish I could give a lower rating; they’re that bad.

I was going to give 3 stars, but decided to give 4 solely for their price. the name does say it all. I think i even got a student discount. No other place quoted me anything near what Budget did and gave me a discount on top of it. My car arrived yesterday and was in perfect condition. I called Alex (owner) pretty much everyday to get a confirmed time for pick up and drop off but he could not give me a DEFINITE time. It was kinda annoying, but understandable. There are so many factors to take into account when choosing this kind of a service. Like other peoples cars causing delays. It’s important to keep in mind you are not the only one. My experience was generally good tho. Alex was very nice to talk to on the phone. My only complaint is that on the day of pickup, nobody from Budget called me or my family when the car was to be picked up. No confirmation even tho I called everyday to get one. I had to call Budget Monday morning myself to find out they had in fact set up my pickup through another company. Then I was given their number to call MYSELF to reconfirm. Which was a little bit of an uneasy feeling considering I’m paying you to do the job completely, start to finish. Why do I have to do your job for you? But I called anyway and the guy from the 2^nd party company was very nice. Showed up when he was supposed to and everything ran smoothly from there. I would use budget again, but just know you might have to put in a little more leg work than you’re willing to.

do not use this company!!! this has been the most frustrating experience. we have been lied to for 30 days. our car was picked up in va… three days late. we were told that our car would be delivered within seven to 10 days. there have been so many lies told to us by alex that i can’t even remember them all. at one point we were told that the driver fell off the truck in texas and someone else had to pick up our car. that was about day 15. at that time we were told it would be two to three more days. didn’t happen. at one time we were told the driver was in califo rnia delivering cars to the port and we were next. stayed home waiting. didn’t happen. then we were told the driver was delivery cars in compton and he would be delivering to us that evening… needless to say i stayed home but no car. alex literally lied to us on a daily basis. now here we are on day 30. we finally hear from the driver. so we got the driver, larry, and alex on a three-​way call. larry claims he picked our car up in north carolina not texas. there are too many lies to recount. no one wants to take responsibility for the horrible service but they all want to get paid. and guess what they have our car. very bad business. we’ve asked to speak to the owner, but whoever that person is they do not care enough about the client to call. you have been warned!
They are trying to remove my comments but this is your warning! ALEX Was never telling the truth an we thought our car had been stolen. He was terrible.

I have had a car shipped from Hawaii to LV, the estimated arrival date of the car was to be on 7÷9÷14. I made sure to request that whole day off to be there for the delivery. However, once that day came we did not hear from anyone, no updates, nothing. So we called them to check up on the status and they told us that it won’t arrive until 7÷11÷14 or 7÷12÷14 the LATEST due to 4^th of July messing up the shipping process. I am a very patient person so it did not bother me at all and I was willing to wait the extra couple of days. For work once again I called in both days on the 11 and 12 but as the days come around my car did not arrive. There weren’t even a head’s up that the car was not going to arrive. We called, again, to check up what went wrong and they told us that it will guaranteed be coming on 7÷14÷14 for sure. At this point I am getting worried because I’ve had numerous important events to attend; conference meetings and an interview, which I had to reschedule because the car did not get delivered to me yet. The 14 comes and of course still nothing, we called for further information and no answer! This was the third time that they did not follow through. THANKFULLY, after being 9 days late the car came. The driver explained to us that it was the company’s fault for shipping the car late and that they did not get the car until two days ago!!! When we were calling the company to follow up on the car they said they had the car in LV ready to be delivered to us… so was that a lie?! One star because the driver was very nice, accommodating and he made sure that we were aware with what was happening all this time we were waiting!
Apparently, the driver also mentioned that there are cars that are prioritized over the other. I would understand for a special event but if a customer has shipped their car way earlier than these prioritized cars AND has paid extra for it to arrive a certain date then they should follow through being on time. It has put a lot of stress over my family and I, worrying about the car, having unanswered questions, and broken commitments.

Biggest waste of time and money in my life. I’ve been tracking my car online and saw that it was in over two weeks ago. A couple of days later was the arrangement date to have it dropped off to my house. I took those 2 days off, but not only did I not get my car, nobody called. I emailed, called, and finally was able to get a hold of them after several attempts. Was told I was going to get a call back, but nada. Well over a week past our arrangement date, I instructed them to drop it off on a specific date which was my day off. Instead, they dropped it off the day prior and nobody was home. They took my keys with them, which is fine, but nobody called me to make arrangements to drop off my keys (when they know that I’m off TODAY). I called only to be told by the driver that «he’ll try» I’m sorry, but this is BS. My car is over 10 days late and why are other cars being prioritized?! I“m still crossing my fingers that they’ll have enough professionalism to hold up their end of the deal. They better not be expecting me to pay them in full. If I knew how inconvenient they’d be I would just rather had took the bus to pick it up myself.

I originally had decided to use a different carrier to ship my husband’s car from Hawaii to the mainland, however once I got the quote and told them I had to wait for address information to know where the car would be delivered to, I could never get a hold of the other company. Alex Duran called me on a Saturday morning to ask how he could help us after receiving his quote, I returned his call on a Sunday and as expected had to leave a voice mail. The man called me back on a Sunday afternoon to finish the order. I was entirely impressed. We had been ripped off when shipping this same vehicle to Hawaii when the driver showed up at the door and demanded extra payment because the original quote was «too low for current fuel prices» Alex explained that would never happen with his company. The price he quoted us was EXACTLY what we paid. No hidden fees, and all taxes and insurance fees were already included. The car even arrived early, we hadn’t even finished our vacation when we received the phone call from the driver, one quick phone call to a nearby relative and all went beautifully, and we once again had two vehicles before we even needed to. We couldn’t have been more thrilled! It is easy to tell when a person loves their job and takes pride in making his customers happy. If I ever have to ship another vehicle again Alex will be my very first and only call.

These guys r amazing. Reliable and gets the job done at a reasonable price. Highly recommend them!!!

I spoke with Gerson Fernandez about shipping my car to Hilo from the mainland. I needed it by the 18^th and he personally guaranteed that it would be here between the 9^th and the 12^th. I figured that with his work and a week of comfort there would be no doubt it would be here in time. Well now it still isn’t here and isn’t supposed to get here until the 19^th which puts me in awful and inconvenient situation. If I had know straight up when it was going to arrive I would have shipped it earlier. Very disappointed and frustrated.

I called 3 days before the required shipment date and Gerson was very helpful in making it happen. I shipped my car from Tampa area to Arizona and Gerson even called to make sure all went as planned. The driver found was exceptional. Will definitely refer or use Budget in the future.

I shipped a car with Eric and his dispatcher last month. I just shipped another this month and another will go next week. I haven’t had any problems. None. My cars are going from Hawaii to the mainland and there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong. No extra charges. He was straight up with me from the jump.

Stay away! Was given a written quote for pickup in Pasadena and delivery to Kauai port of Nawiliwili. When I accepted the quote, Alex changed the terms to port of Long Beach to Port in Kauai and refused to honor his quote to pick up in Pasadena unless I paid an extra charge. In checking further, I could not find Budget Auto Shipping listed in the DOT or Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data base by their MC# or their name = very suspicious. Advise you stay away from this «bate and switch» company who won’t stand behind their written quotes
