If you are looking for the definition of a DIVE bar, look no further. This place is a punk rock dive feel like you’ve never experienced before. Graffiti everywhere, PBR tall boys, smells like an ashtray, tons of character watching. Good thing that’s exactly the type of ambiance I was looking for.
There’s a food truck outside for your late night hunger pains, and incredible line ups nightly of eclectic bands for a wide range of musical tastes. There are pool tables, and a back patio area that hosts karaōke certain nights or other bands, sometimes bars.
It’s a great spot. Reasonable prices, underground feel to it, dress for comfort.

I hate to love you so! I feel like this plAce and I have been in a complicated relationship for years. I always say I’m done, but keep on coming back! Miami classic.

$ 8 for a 10oz plastic cup of Boddy’s. I think not.
And by the way. The rest of the world has discovered that smoking is bad for you.
Other than that. The place was lively. Mixed crowd. And if you like jazz, the band was alright.

It’s kind of like a dive bar but the history in this place is great, staff is always nice and drinks are cheap. J

Low down dirty bar! Great place to remember how we Rock and Rolled 20 years ago! Keep up the filthy good times!

This pub is a democracy where the alternative, punk, counter culture can congregate and showcase real, raw, music.
I fucking love this place. Check out sweat records next door as well.

Dark, dungeon-​like, and divey. Just like I like it. Good food, good drinks, good entertainment…

This review is a 4.5 stars and based solely on overall experience.
Do not expect to go to Churchill for great food, romantic setting, or anything fancy.
For the ladies … Make sure you go comfortable, with sandals.
Now to begin…
Churchill’s is located in the hood, little Haiti, needless to say, I was hesitant about where to park. There is free parking in the front of the place on the road, if not, thy have a 3 $ parking lot.
As soon as you walk in, u might be shocked, looks like a low class bar with smells of cigarettes and a weird crowd.
Get a drink at the bar and continue exploring the place.
I went on a Tuesday night, they have a live jazz band from 9 – 130; by 930, all the tables by the bar Lounge were taken. The band was amazing.
If you want a change of scenery, you may go outside, where they have an open mic.
Now remember to continue to be open minded and just enjoy the experience.
Outside with the open mic was my absolute favorite, I had never experienced such thing in Miami: there was so much talent, from Poetry, to rapping, to singing, they had it All. It was amazing to see those people so passionate about their work and doing it for free.
I cannot wait to return on a different occasion to Churchill. If you live in miami and you have yet to go; you are missing out.

It has been representing the center of the punk rock scene in Miami since ’79. I met some of my friends in it. No other bars have a dress code like It does. I have liked the veggie pizza and Agnostic Front.

Terrible. Sound was horrible, band was just ok. Drinks were average. They charged me 17 to get in (2 people) and there was no A/​C! I mean, what? No A/​C in Florida? In August? Wth?
I am addicted to Rock and Roll and I’d say we deserve a lot better!

Soooo many crazy memories at churchills. This place is basically the CBGB s of Florida. I haven’t been in three years or so but I remember going to see Agnostic Front, MDC, Olde York, Bermondsey Joyriders… plus so many more bands… I did always go with at least some sort of protection because this place can get craaaaaaaaaaaazy, which I used to love but now I am a boring mom ;) Also I don’t know if the bums are still at the parking lot or not but make sure you give them a beer or a dollar so they can watch your car, don’t be that person who doesn’t and gets surprised when their car got effed with. cheers!!!

When you are trying to mix it up and check out a different scene, listen to some pretty good local music and drink some cheap ($ 3) beer PLEASE check out Churchill’s.
Yes, it’s not in the best neighborhood, and yes, the place is really grimy. But you’ll find some awesome people here and some really good music.
Their Nirvana tribute night is lively, and their David Bowie night was awesome. So many characters in Churchill’s.
My only negative is that the bathrooms are on some next level dirty. I try to never pee in Churchill’s, but that’s hard when drinking for a few hours. Beware of the restrooms, but don’t let it deter you!

This bar IS NOT AN ENGLISH PUB… DONT BE FOOLED! It was purchased by a corporate company a year ago! Its dirty «roaches running on the bar and rats running over your feet» the toilets are always overflowing, the bar is always changing the drink prices and for a dive bar it is way overpriced, the bartenders are aloof (so be careful of being overcharged). Your charged to park your car your charged to go in and PS THERE IS NOOOOOO A.C. it’s hot as fuck in that bar, sweaty smelly underarm stink and the smell of overflowing toilets fill your nose.
****paying for parking doesn’t save your car from being broken into. THIS BAR «WAS» GREAT… NOW ITS SUCKS!!! Make a U TURN THE MINUTE YOU THINK OF RETURNING AND OR COMING FOR THE FIRST TIME. Cheaper cleaner cooler bars around every corner…

Always have awesome music, great prices, fun atmosphere. Knocked down 2 stars because sometimes I’m unable to go in because the homeless people pretending to be parking attendants threaten to smash the windows out of my car if I don’t pay them. At that point, I’m not leaving my car… because I’m not paying for parking AND a racket.

Where do I begin with this location? I’ve been occasionally going to Churchills for years. Whether for the music they play or the cheap drinks. That’s about as good as this spot is going to get. Oh yeah and the awesome sweet staff they have! Aside from that it’s kind of a dirty place I’m happy to see is being changed up more and more!
Will I return again yes probably but not a bar I would return to more than once a month.

I’m issuing Churchill’s five stars because I get it and apparently so does the new owner. For as long as I can remember Churchill’s was the place for unknown artists to come and perform. Sometimes, like last night, unique acts/​artists. For the most part, however, it’s Hipsterism before Hipsterism was cool.
The place itself is atrocious. Not a good representation of Hipsters, their friends and the United Kingdom. But, once you get drunk enough you look the other way. I mean, I get it. I really do.
Although they serve food and saw some people order food, the place itself did not give me an appetite.
Last time I was here was in 1999. Other than a change of ownership, nothing really has changed. This includes the neighborhood. As much as it has been tried, this section of NE 2^nd Avenue remains the same. Call it whatever you want. Midtown, Little Haiti, Lemon City and/​or whatever. This small stretch of NE 2^nd Avenue has always been ghetto. I don’t know why since everything to its north and south has been regentrified.
I was here for Raw Meat and, it was interesting. Worth the Five Dollar cover. The bartendress knows her liquor and is very nice. The owner, who was also running around, was very welcoming and nice. THANK YOU SIR for keeping it as is! This is an iconic and unique place here in Miami amidst all the newer «trendy» places. THANKS!

Churchill’s aesthetically screams I don’t care, but the staff certainly delivers. This place offers people that aren’t into the upscale Miami scene a choice to go in the other direction. If you just want to go to a place where you can go dressed however you want, smoke ciggarettes and just plain rock and roll. This is your spot. They open early to show barclays premier league soccer games and offer a solution for english soccer game viewing here in south florida. They play a variety of different rock and underground music from punk, metal, to just plain static noise. They also offer a night of jazz and open mic theatre on monday nights called Theatre de Underground which has been around for more than 10 years and has recieved rave reviews from Miami New Times as other notable publications. You haven’t seen all of Miami unless you been to churchills, just don’t expect diamonds and pearls. There may be some don’t get me wrong, just expect anything and everything because at churchills anything can happen. They don’t discriminate and let anyone in through those legendary doors. The only downside is a little upkeep here and there as the place seems like it’s falling apart.

Quite the departure from Miami, Churchill’s won’t be your typical glamour & glitz high end night club.
This is a non-​traditional UK-​themed dive bar. On Monday nights, the venue hosts «Miami Jam Jazz».
Started out with a featured jazz band later followed by a jam session where anyone can bring along their instrument and participate in the merriment of jazz.
Anyone’s first complaint would be the dinginess but staying true to its old/​antique noncontemporary feel, discolored wallpapering, damaged walls, and nightmarish bathrooms certainly enhance the vibe these folks aim for. If you walk in expecting a take trip back to the 1940’s UK jazz era, you’ll feel right at home.

I come as often as possible. Love this place.

I think I am in love… No, silly, not with a human being! With this cozy, grungy locale in the heart of Little Haiti! Finally, a place that is FUN, has good music (translation: nothing that is in our crappy choice of radio stations in SoFla, and nothing that is playing in the clubs), and where I can wear whatever the hell I want and look however I want and STILL be welcomed, with open arms, by the freaks and geeks. No velvet ropes, arrogant patrons looking down on me, or douchey doormen discriminating anyone. A breath of fresh air.
Reminiscent of such iconic places as CBGBs in New York, which is now long gone, it is actually shocking to find such a cool place, which has history, mind you, in the midst of tropical, relatively modern, Miami. Who knew? Where have you been my whole life, Churchill’s?
I had always been fascinated by documentaries I had seen while discovering punk/​new wave/​goth music in my 20s (not that long ago!) that showcased the Batcave in London, and I always cursed the fact I was too young to have ever experienced it for myself. I thought that such relics were relegated to the past, and I was just born too late, with nothing to do about it. Enter Churchill’s. I am glad to see that all hope is not gone. Seeing people in their Misfits gear, leather jackets and piercings, I can still feel as if I am a part of that time.
I have heard they have an awesome Indian curry buffet on Wednesday nights, I will have to attempt to try it at least once. They also have jazz nights, if you’re not into punk rock. It’s cool to see the bands that come, they will play anything from Jimi Hendrix covers to hardcore punk rock, and there’s a large sense of community. For example, leave it to patrons to adjust the sound system mid-​song if there’s equipment glitches, or microphone issues.
By the way, I thought I should mention this considering the somewhat negative reviews: I don’t feel unsafe at Churchill’s, I know a lot of people are saying that it’s a crime-​ridden area, but honestly, there are plenty of people hanging out outside all the time, not just homeless folks guarding the lots, but locals and plenty of patrons who go out to take a break from playing pool to have a smoke… do you think this would be happening if there really were stray bullets going off in this neighborhood? Little Haiti’s got nothing on Liberty City late at night. Churchill’s would be a yuppy hipster hangout without that element of danger and grunge, so common to punk rock clubs (see CBGBs, which was not in a posh area of town either).
Also, the people here are friendly without overstepping their bounds or being creepy. There are girls who go there on their own and don’t feel harassed like they would at a «mainstream» club. People are there to genuinely laugh, joke around, heckle the bands sometimes, dance, and jam, without a care in the world about how silly they may look while dancing, they are not there to exclusively use the place as a pickup bar.
PS: I used the bathroom a few weekends ago and it was actually clean, much cleaner than some restaurant bathrooms and yes, there WAS toilet paper, unlike some restaurant bathrooms. I was expecting to find graffiti’d walls, toilet paper and pee all over the floors and poop-​covered toilet seats based on some of the reviews on here, but the toilet and bathroom itself was clean, small, but clean, and this was around 2 a.m., I guess they must have done some remodeling and cleanup.
