CMHH: Stylish Day Drinking @ Oak Tavern

I LOVE pizza, but haven’t had it in a while (trying to eat healthy etc etc); so what is great about this place is that their pizza is thin crust and made with fresh ingredients. I had a «few» adorable drinks that were pink and refreshing .oh dang… I forgot the name… no, not because I was drunk. IJS it was refreshing lol.
The décor is so comfortable and cute. There is tons of space and I can so see having a few shindigs here… oh…and they have valet — so you don’t have to go hunting for parking.
The service was good — the bathrooms clean — the music was hip … and… oh yeah… the real clincher! the bar has hooks so I can hang my purse… yep… now if they can just add electrical plugs so I can charge my phone, I may make this my new «Cheers» bar.
An extra cool plus, besides Oak Tavern inviting us in and properly feeding us, is the social aspect of these events. I get to see good friends, make new friends, flirt with the bartenders so I can get bigger glasses of drinks, laugh and photo mob. There is something about spending time with cool people that makes food taste better, drinks more refreshing and songs memorable. Thanks Johnny T, mystery Unilocal minions, Oak Tavern and Unilocalers for making this a fun Sunday.

Great event!!! Another sunday funday in true Unilocal fashion. Greeted with these delicious strawberry fields cocktails, I’m in love! I really liked Oak Tavern and the service was top notch, in particular Sammy. He always made sure we had a drink in our hands and a smile on our face. One of my favorite things about this event was the quaintness of it and the good vibes that were emitting from everyone. Every Unilocaler was having a great time and I got the chance to meet a few new more. This was one of those events were serendipity took over and the result was a casual, fun, great Sunday afternoon with fab peeps! Oh and the food was amazing too. I had a really fun time! Thanks Johnny for making it happen. We all had a fantastic time. You da best!

Another top notch event for Unilocal Miami.
The venue has hosted other businesses in the past but I definitely think Oak Tavern has what it takes to stick around for a long time.
The elaborate menu, full bar with delicious cocktails, friendly staff, along with the warm and modern design will bring you back for certain.

It feels good to be back!
After being chained to my desk at work and buried in books for school, it was a breath of fresh air to hang out with the Unilocal crew. It was wonderful to see Elizabeth, Mercedes, Stephanie, Patrick, Rony, Lena, Marcos, JL, and our fearless leader, Johnny. It was nice to meet a few new Unilocalers as well!
As for the venue, in a word– beautiful. Oak Tavern has such charm and is absolutely perfect for happy hour or date night. The pink drink was sweet and yummy. The food was delicious as well. I’ll definitely go for a pizza next time I’m back. To round out a great experience, thanks to the staff at Oak Tavern. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and kept a drink in my hand.
Johnny, you did it again! Another fun night with the Unilocal crew is added to the list!

If it weren’t for this event I probably wouldn’t have known what a cool place the Oak Tavern is, nor how good the food and drinks were. It’s sort of hidden away, recessed into the buildings, dare I say a hidden gem?
But that’s what these events are for, so we can discover places that might have otherwise gone unnoticed by the general public.
My fave was the Duck Pizza, but pretty much everything served was delicious.
Service was great as well, they kept the food coming in waves and there was plenty to go round. The free cocktail was good as well. Some said it was a little too sweet, I found it to be fine, it was sort of like an alcoholic pink lemonade. I also had a chance to try a shot of a «Coffee Martini» thanks to Allen F who bought a few of us a round, I highly recommend it asking for it.
Of course I can’t end this review without thanking the master, the man that brings us all together and ensures we all have a good time; thank you Johnny, you rock as always.

For the record and in my defense, I was sober!
I know it’s hard to imagine someone having as much fun as I was being sober, but, believe it or not, despite the perpetual glass of Belvenie in my hand that the awesome bartender kept refilling, I was sober. You can tell I was sober, because my eyes had not turned into tiny slits, which tends to happen when the warmth of booze works its magical way through my veins and makes everything a deeper shade of merriment.
At any rate, the Happy Hour at Oak Tavern was, once again, a chance to get out on a balmy Sunday and rub elbows with the interesting people of Unilocal,while sampling some cool eats and interesting drinks at a Miami hot-​spot. It must be odd for people that have not been to Unilocal event to see all these positive reviews, extolling simple gatherings… To them I say: you wouldn’t understand it until you’ve been there yourself. The best thing about Unilocal events is the people and the interactions. This was no exception, as everyone mingled, old friends were reunited and new friends were made. Even New York was representin’ (shout-​out to Ronnie!). Oak Tavern set the ambiance with its chill, elegant atmosphere and we enjoyed their food and drinks and the excellent service I have come to expect at all my visits to this restaurant.
A Happy Hour seems like a perfect venue for Unilocalers. It is relaxed and free form. It is informal and inviting. It lets the lunatics take over the asylum and have fun for a while, as Johnny orchestrates the festivities like a capable Maestro. Yes, I was ‘THAT guy’, going from group to group and meeting people, and playing my favorite game of ‘Match the IRL Unilocaler to Their Profile Photo’; (I got 2 out of 27, BTW… I suck at this game!). So I made some new friends, experienced some new treats and left another Unilocal event, already looking forward to the next…

Oak Tavern is a really nice place. The deco was cool. Lot of wood inside the restaurant. It has outdoor seating as well.
They started us off with some amazing strawberry drinks, and they were very generous. The food was also great. They had some truffle, mushroom pizza, bacon wrapped dates and other bruschetta type of appetizers.
The servers were great, amazing, very attentive. Sammy was awesome. He hooked me up with drinks after I told him I was celebrating my bday!
Can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes!

THE LORAX WOULD LOVE THIS PLACE. Oak Tavern’s trees welcome you with open boughs – «come in, relax, enjoy,» they say. «Have a luscious strawberry cocktail or a crisp glass of white wine.» «Don’t mind if I do,» I say and settle right in.
The atmosphere is cozy and casual, but the snacks are fancy – bacon wrapped dates, bruschetta with mushroom and truffle, and lots of other little delectable bites.
As always, the people of Unilocal Miami were the true highlight of the happy hour. I bumped into Lena and her friends from California on the way in, and then caught up with jet-​setters Stephanie and Patrick. Of course JL got positively molested when I spotted him at the bar and he was kind enough to introduce me to the lovely Olga. Mercedes was in attendance with her super sparkle smile looking summery and brilliant, and Megan took time out for a little Sunday afternoon cocktail too. What an awesome surprise to see the handsome and charming Rony Mo back from the Big Apple, and speaking of wayward Unilocalers, Kaya was in the house with that tall drink of water, Andy. And my wish came true! I got to meet Allen for the first time! So many warm, wonderful Unilocalers! Too many to list them all. And who orchestrated this amazing gathering? Our own Johnny T!
And to the trees of Oak Tavern: I will see you again soon! I’ll enjoy a delicious glass of wine under your branches at many a future happy hour for sure!

Had a wonderful time at my first ever Unilocal event. Been a member for a few years already so this was a long time coming, and I loved the venue — Oak Tavern is a beautifully designed addition that will be a long-​standing compliment to its environs.
