Community Smiles is a community-​based, fully-​accredited, non-​profit dental clinic whose mission is providing oral health education and improving access to dental care for the uninsured, low-​income children and families of Miami-​Dade County

History

Established in 1946.

Community Smiles was established in 1946 as the Dade County Dental Research Clinic. Its founding premise, which continues today, is to provide professional dental care for the low-​income community. Dedicated, licensed dentists donate their time, vision and energy to the underserved in their community. Throughout its history, Community Smiles has enhanced the oral well-​being of its patients.

Community Smiles provides advanced post-​doctoral education and training in the art and science of dentistry through an ADA-​accredited dental residency program. This program enables the participants to acquire new knowledge and skills in clinical dentistry while specialized, comprehensive care to medically compromised patients.
