Some of my chicken was frozen but cooked I think. Otherwise was tasty. Very clean. Bathrooms are outside but don’t lock. My wife’s lunch was great. Good salsa selection. Cheap eats.

Good food and very reasonably priced! I tried the burrito and quesadilla and I would order both again. They serve several different salsas with varying degree of heat to have with your chips. I was a little put off by the looks of the place but im glad i got over it because the food was on point! I’ll be back!

What a great place to stop by and grab a bite to eat, or take out for feeding the family. You can’t beat the prices for the amount of food you get. The service is friendly and the restaurant was clean. The salsa bar delights with some tasty sauces for their crispy crunchy chips. The horchata is very drinkable and goes great with spicy food. They have a variety of choices and reasonable prices. I’ll be sure to come back in order to try out what else is on the menu!

Okay so we finally tried this Mexican restaurant after driving by a zillion times & left extremely dissatisfied in so many ways. First off when you walk in you place your order at the counter & pay, then you sit wherever you’d like & they then bring out your food when it’s done. That’s the only time you see anyone, wish I knew that before I wrote in a standard %15 tip on credit payment. The food then comes out on paper plates & they give you plastic utensils to eat with. The food at best was subpar & did not seem fresh at all. We won’t be returning, such a disappointment.

Food is decent and in a nice portion. However, I can’t see why this is the best taco place. Parking is often not an issue since it has its own lot. The line could move too slowly since the registers really take their time on the orders.

Every time I’m in this area I pass by here. Having somewhat of a Mexican background, I crave good tacos every now and then. What I love about Ernesto’s tacos is that they put so much meat! I always order the three amigos with al pastor, carnitas, and tongue. The guys behind the counter are always very friendly and their sauces are delicious as well.

This place was recently updated & looks like it belongs in the wynwood area. Indoor & outdoor seating is available. The food portions are generous & the quality is excellent. Decent price for the amount of food & a great selection of drinks. Went here for lunch after seeing that a bunch of other fast food restaurants nearby were packed, no line when we arrived, & our food did not take long to be served. I had the taco salad, which did not disappoint me whatsoever. Always a pleasure to eat here.

Came here based on the reviews but left disappointed. The food quality was sub par at best. Left my mother and husband with tummy aches the whole night at worst. We ordered the enchilada, burrito, carne asada and tongue tacos. The pork in the burrito tasted great but I kept tasting the overly ripe tomatoes and just not fresh ingredients. The rice was bland, the refried beans were weird and runny, and tasted bad. Just not what I was expecting for a place pretty well reviewed. Edit: updating to 1 star because my husband is still affected by what he ate here three days later and clearly this place is not running their food sanitation properly any more.

I was headed down to the Redlands and figured when going south you do Mexican. I checked Unilocal and Ernesto’s looked promising so we stopped there. The place itself isn’t anything out of the ordinary but it is clean and well maintained. It was our first time here so we asked the guy at the counter what he recommended. He gave us one option but it wasn’t anything I had seen on Unilocal so I opted to go with what I had seen and ordered the carne asada nachos, the trio of tacos, and a chimichanga. The prices are quite reasonable– $ 28 including a drink and tip. The carne asada nachos are the sure winner here. They are enough to share and were filled with meat. However the tacos where another story. The trio gave you one of each: barbacoa, carne asada, and al pastor. The tacos seemed to lack seasoning and were a little bland. I added some of the sauces they gave and they were better but I was not impressed. Out of all three the one that was the best was the al pastor. My husband’s chimichanga was large and his was tastier. Overall there are far too many Mexican places further south for me to stop here again. I still find Taqueria Morelia hard to beat!

The horchata is great, and everything else is very good. Nice, casual spot to hang out for lunch, also probably a great place late at night, and a great place to get takeout.

First time dining here… we both came in starving. I had the barbacoa tacos, my partner had the three amigos tacos, and we shared carne asada nachos. We both enjoyed our meals, but were underwhelmed. From my first bite, I immediately regretted getting the barbacoa tacos. They were bland and could have used some seasoning and acidity. Adding salsa helped and their salsa was good, but I don’t think I should have to smother my food in salsa to mask how bland it is. My partner told me that his other tacos(al pastor and carne asada) tasted much better than the barbacoa. Our nachos were generously portioned and perfect for sharing. I definitely preferred them over my tacos. The nachos were good, but I still felt that something was lacking flavor wise. Overall, the food wasn’t bad… it just wasn’t very impressive, especially for the price. In terms of the restaurant itself, it’s small and has an area to sit and eat. The staff is friendly and keep it clean. I’m not sure I would come here again.

Very delicious taco al pastor and carne asada burrito. Fresh and large portions. Friendly staff and a good location. There was a large menu and several types of meats, all of which I wanted to try. Clean location and super delicious green salsa that I put in all I ate. They were not too busy early on a Sunday morning but I could see the place is popular and that it was going to fill up quickly.

Guy was a bit rude at first asking over and over again for here or to go? We just walked in the door give us a minute. Then we let someone in front of us and he helped her and left us for 5 minutes walking in and out of the kitchen not doing anything. I looked around and should have left right there. Ordered food and it took a while but we were excited because I heard them grilling and food sizzling so we thought no problem they are actually cooking it. Took our food to the car and it was cold! Talk about a tease! Don’t go here. I had the nachos and my boyfriend had the carnitas tacos both were cold. What a bummer!

We are very big connoisseur’s of great Mexican food. Even traveled to many different parts of Mexico searching for the right taste. Ernesto’s Taco Shop is the real deal! Wonderful food and highly recommended. Great sauce, crisp fresh taste. They could add a hotter one for improvement. The chorizo is moist and full of flavor. We also had chicken fajitas which were delicious! Defiantly going to return back. Be sure to bookmark this shop…

The food is pretty authentic and the meal prices are about what you would expect to pay for Mexican food of this quality. The place tends to be a bit hot inside not sure if this is done on purpose or the AC doesn’t work well. I usually like to take it to go. But overall pretty good spot.

Don’t know how Taco Bell is not out of business with Ernesto’s Taco restaurant nearby. Because Taco Bell has gotten too expensive for a fast food restaurant! Well I think the photos will tell the story. You can never go wrong with their nachos! And my all time favorite… the fajitas! Hubby and my daughters are in love with the burritos. Yes, they are big! We always take-out and the portions are great! If you need to get rid of your Mexican craving and you are near Southland mall, then you’ve found the perfect place! Next thing I must try is their fried ice cream. If anyone has tried it, please let me know how it is ;)

So obsessed with the tacos here! Everything tastes really fresh and authentic. I usually come here for lunch and order the Three Amigos. The service is very quick and friendly, the food is inexpensive, and absolutely delicious! I also really like their salsa. The restaurant itself is small and«cozy» but I personally don’t mind. The only con I can think of is that parking there seems to be limited. Overall Ernesto’s is a great taco shop and I recommend this place to all of my friends and coworkers that are in the area.
