This place was amazing! Vegan and gluten free, but even my meat eating, «regular foodie» family loved it! Organic coffee/reishi blend with homemade coconut milk was one of the best hot indulgences I have had, and I am a self proclaimed coffee snob! Our food was also excellent and the owner was very nice and accomodating:) we are just sorry we discovered this place the day before moving away:(I will definitely be back though!

Ok, this review is to make it known to everyone that this place closed down! What a horror! And their website didn’t state it. I’m in Miami, I’m looking for raw vegan food. I drive there to find a sign saying sorry we’re closed and looking for another place. Call us. What??? So disappointed! If they do open up a physical location on during my next trip, I’ll stop by and write an update review.

Prices were a little much for the serving sizes and quality of this organic/veg fare. It just seemed very flavorless and uninspired. I have friends who are veg/vegan and/or GF/DF(you got that?), and they come up with some of the most savory, spectacular dishes I’ve ever had. I found none of that here. Disappointing. Two stars: 1 for the service and 1 for the dressing that came on my side greens.

We are sooo lucky to have this wonderful restaurant spot available to us in the Miami area. The food is healthy, very yummy and very well priced. The chef John Schott really cares about the quality of the food and offers vegan, non-vegan, and raw food dishes. I REALLY enjoy the food and the consciousness of the establishment. I super highly reco it! The retail products offered are unique and super healthy.

One the few places in Miami you can get tasty, high quality raw vegan meals. Absolutely LOVE Lifefood Gourmet. Much to my dismay, they did start offering cooked(non-vegan?) food on the menu, so make sure you ask if you are wanting to stay raw vegan. My favs are: the raw burger, it may look small, but you will be full for quite a while!; the mediterranean salad; and the raw burrito. They also have a small selection of supplements and grocery items. And a very tasty, locally made, kombucha on tap! The apple-ginger is crazy good.

I really wanted to like LifeFood, since I am always on the hunt for healthful indulgences. It’s a small coffee shop-style store with a few tables and some to-go stuff like cookies as well as an assortment of supplements and raw grains, vinegars etc. All of the supplements are available on Amazon for 2/3rds of what they charge, by the way. They have two different menus — one that’s up on the wall and the paper menu, both with different items, confused. The menu descriptions are somewhat vague, especially for people not well versed in vegan dieting. What on earth is raw milk? Scared to ask. Prices are high considering the portions. 13 bucks buy you a pizza about the size of a hand. Sorry, did we order off the kid’s menu and didn’t realize it? I could justify the price to serving ratio by the simple fact that quality ingredients cost more. However, vegan food does not have to look and taste like health food, as evidenced by my own humble home cooking as well as a little place called T.H.R.I.V.E. in South Beach. The pizza crust was flat, dense and somewhat rubbery, exactly what happens when you bake with ground flax seeds. Why not try spelt flour for our gluten intolerant pizza lovers? My burrito had the same cardboard texture, thankfully the filling made up for it, a mixture of turmeric spiced rice, black rice and a honey mustard dressing. The menu description stated there would be sauteed vegetables in the burrito but all I found was shredded lettuce. I do have to give them props for cooking the black rice perfectly, which is not an easy endeavor. All in all, I am not a fan of leaving any place hungry, so I will not likely return.

CANYOUAFFORDTOFEELFANTASTIC? I’ve been to LifeFood twice and the food has been phenomenal both times; what gives me pause is the price. It’s sort of an «everything-is-twelve-dollars» kind of menu. Why is it so expensive? It’s raw food – organic, labor-intensive, short shelf-life, etc. But is it worth it? Yeah. It’s the kind of food that literally makes you feel healthier right away. And it tastes great. The first time I went, I ordered a special stir fry. It was delicious – fresh, well-seasoned, filling, and colorful. It wasn’t until I had already ordered that I read the fine print on the menu and realized that their pizza is gluten-free. This time I went straight for the pizza and I wasn’t disappointed. It has a crispy sun dried-crust and lots of chunky, rich toppings. I’ll definitely be back.

I ordered a burger here(of the non-meat variety) and when they brought it out, I thought, «what? a thin brown triangle sandwiched between two thin brown triangles?»(There were some lettuce and tomatoes in there too, to be fair.) But it was really savory and yummy! And came with a side salad with some great dressing. I’d definitely be interested in coming back to try more of their concoctions, especially the specials, which looked good when I was there. Overall, a great place for lunch.

Work luncheon and this was a good spot. Working with people that are very health conscious, raw foods, organic, gluten free, this restaurant satisfied most. Once inside, it’s small with about six to eight tables, bright lime green, plain décor. Our group was eight people and our server was very friendly but after ten minutes when the lunch crowd poured in service really slacked off. He was very good but desperately needed help out on the floor and paying clients at the register. Our entire table was out of water and there was no one to help the poor guy. Needless to say we never got refilled. The food consist of salads, sandwiches, etc… Prices are reasonable, portions a very good size. A co worker and I shared a Mexican salad, and Mexican nachos. The food is very fresh and good other than not much taste. You can eat healthy but I so wanted some spice or seasoning to make our food tastier. Why three stars? Good fresh food, and the place is spic and span clean! The kitchen is immaculate. This alone was impressive. Now add some spices or sauces to your food, get some more help and this place could be a great little spot.

I’ve been meaning to eat here for AGES. I want to be up front here and say that I AM friends with the owner/chef’s wife, but that in no way affects my review. I love it – I’m saying so. If I didn’t love it, I’d say so. And she knows this about me. Yeah, I totally loved Lifefood Gourmet. I was there with a friend whose eating habits are MUCH different than mine, and he loved it too. The meals were all very good – but the desserts and the drinks were PHENOMENAL. I started with the QPC(Quick Power Chocolate) and my friend had the Beyond Mocha. Mine was awesome, I didn’t taste his because I don’t like anything coffee related. We shared the Mediterranean Platter(the hummus was phenomenal, and the portabellas were my favorite). My friend enjoyed the Nori Roll(I had a bite-LOVED the nut pâté!) and I had the Burger(love, love, loved the texture and flavor of everything, and the«nacho cheese”-swoon!). We shared desserts too, a slice of Chocolate Mousse Pie and a Sweet Crêpe w/Apples. Both of these were covered in this vanilla crème that I woke up still thinking about this morning. Also, this morning, I was still thinking about the WUGUP(Wild«Milk,» Spirulina, Mamey, Brazil Butter, Goji, Cacao, Palm Nectar,(and usually Bee Pollen, but none in mine)) which I took to go to enjoy later after yoga class. It was super delicious, and in case you’re wondering, WUGUP stands for«Where U Get Ur Protein»(nothing like a little vegan humor to still be cracking me up a day later). Yes, like most rawfood restaurants, Lifefood Gourmet is a little pricy. But you’re paying for organic. You’re paying for a lot of time and energy and fruits and veggies to create these raw meals. You’re paying for creativity. And you’re paying for food prepared with a whole lot of love. Totally worth it and I will totally go back. I still have to try the pizza and I still can’t stop thinking about that crêpe and there are five more Super Shakes I have to try!

I’m glad their recent deal Groupon gave me an incentive to get down to LifeFood Gourmet. It’s not exactly close to where I live, but with a good deal, I was like, why not check it out. The menu is online(love that) so I got to do a little homework before stopping in. The menu is visually appealing with little icons describing what foods are good for what psychological or physiological system. In general, it’s what I expected to see on a menu at a raw food place — smoothies, salads, and raw entrees. The surprise came when I actually ate the food. Even though I haven’t had the best experiences with raw pizza, I decided to try the All Veggie Pizza. Wow. It’s good, and doesn’t have the typical taste of a raw pizza. The crust is really the star and it has a great flavor with sun dried tomatoes being the main thing I tasted. I also ordered one of the shakes. It was good. It was like other raw shakes I have had, but it included mamey. Overall, I am definitely a fan, but I don’t know that I’d go often. It’s still too expensive for me. The pizza costs $ 13 and the shake was $ 11. But, give me another deal, and I’ll definitely be back.

I do not care if you are a carnivore, omnivore, vegetarian, raw vegan or spacefoodist … You will lick your fingers after tasting Raw Vegan Supreme Pizza at LifeFood Gourmet!!! What a discovery I recently made! Young handsome chef-owner John Schott brings personal experiences as a raw foodist, organic, gluten-free, animal free, best quality produce, creativity, amazing taste and a bit of magic in a bowl. I have visited this place 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Totally worth my 5 mile drive to grab a lunch. You will bump into super health conscious people(my type of health nuts), exchange ideas and experience the joy of UPGRADING the quality of your lunch. Tried: burger, buritto, soups(curry is delish!!!), drinks(mocha with reishi mushrooms is superb) I became a big fan instantly and will continue to spread the word. Yammmm…

The food is good, some of it is delicious, some a bit flavorless. I had an amazing chocolate crème thing here once. The place feels kind of sterile and plastic. I’m open to paying more for quality food but not here. I’ll return and hope it gets better. Great idea but I’ve experienced much better. I wish Miami had more vegan and/or raw restaurants.

Very disappointing. The food is flavorless. The soup was very watery. The pizza tasted old. It was not cheap for a lunch. Probably will not go back

Quite possibly the best smoothie I’ve ever had. The mamey smoothie is so nutty(they make their own brazil nut milk) and fabulous and delicious that I had to have two in one week. I also tried the burrito, which is definitely good, but not exactly mind blowing. I’m glad to see that they’re using some less traditional meat substitutes(pumpkin seed«meat»). Portions are a little small. Prices are definitely way too high. But, I’ll still definitely be back. This kind of food just makes you feel healthy. Also, nice little selection of health food items. A lot of coconut based products. This place knows what’s up in the vegan healthy eating world.

Wow! When I come down to visit the fam there’s very few options compared to back in NYC for organic, let alone raw and vegan. So, when we had to go down and help my little sister set up her new apartment, which happened to be just a couple miles from Lifefood, it was my chance to check out this quality spot. We went straight there when we got in from our half hour drive for lunch. Mom had the Tummy Ease and Sis had the Green Tea, which had a little too much honey for our taste, so definitely tell them to go easy on the sweetener. We split the House Salad, which had a wonderful dressing and was big enough for us all to have a nice portion. Then we split the Lifefood Platter, which we all drooled over. The flavors just exploded off the plate! The hummus-like filling in the zucchini rolls was light and creamy, and the nachos were zesty and satisfying. The nori chips were crisp and delightful, not chewy or limp like others I’ve had. I had ordered the Beyond Mocha, assuming it would come out first with the teas, but didn’t come until half way through the salad, so I saved it for a delicious, stimulating snack later in the afternoon. It didn’t disappoint! Plenty of cacao and maca made it rich and indulgent to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Then I came back later to pick up dinner. It wasn’t quite ready ½ hour after I ordered, but they were pretty busy approaching their 7pm closing time. We split a green juice, which was nice and green, not too much celery(that bitter saltiness) nor too watery(cucumer). The Mediterranean Salad was really nice, the same hummus from the Zucchini Rolls made a great dressing, thought I wish they would have left the Tortilla Chips whole and on the side instead of broken up and tossed into the salad where they got kind of mushy. I’m sure if you ask, they’ll happily oblige that request. The girl preparing the food seemed cheerful, competent, and eager to please, which is easy when serving such high quality, lovingly prepared ingredients. The guy at the register was also happy to oblige my mother’s inquisitive nature, as she is new to the lifestyle. She asked about picking up two-days’ worth of juices to do a cleanse in the near future(go Mom!) and he explained how that would work. I also grabbed a Reishi Coffee for the morning, and sipped a little on the ride home… AMAZING! Can’t wait to have it for breakfast, love knowing that I can finally have such powerful, medicinal food available when I’m in South Florida and then turn my family on to the lifestyle! So, sure, it’s a little pricier than your typical Standard American Fare, but compared to NYC organic raw vegan, this is a darn good deal, with ample portions. What’s more important than investing in your(delicious) health anyway?

My very first raw food restaurant experience. I got an avocado sandwich and a maney smoothie. Sandwich: Fresh and full of flavors. The dressing in the sandwich was creamy with a hint of ginger but not overwhelming. I think that was my favorite part. Salad: Nothing special just spring mix with some red onions on top. Again I love their dressing… fresh oregano smells soo good. Maney Smoothie: The best part about the smoothie is the honey. Not too sweet. just right. The restaurant itself is small. Our table of six took over half of the place… looks like max capacity was ~12−15. I could be wrong but its very small, but clean. Price: for what was served, I think its a wee bit too expensive for me. Service: Is ok. They took a bit to bring my food out. The couple that ordered after me got their food before I did. It didn’t bothered me too much because I was there with friends and have time to kill. Overall: Worth a try!

Sadly, the sequel wasn’t as good as the original. This was my second visit and it was almost a complete opposite of the first time. This place has moved and grown and yet it isn’t better. The new space feels figuratively and literally cold. Perhaps it was that I’m comparing it to the dark and cozy space they had before. The prices are the same. However, it is the food that is so disappointing. I had the same dishes and they were so different that I asked the chef about the changes. His response was that they have removed the nut products as many complained it was too rich. I guess you’ll never please everyone and much less everyone at the same time. Gotta tell you though this girl is less than pleased.
