What a great experience at this lovely shop. My mom was visiting from California and I took her here to pick up Miami souvenirs. We were greeted by what seemed like the owner and her daughter. Our quick trip turned into a 30min stop but only because we had a great conversation and interaction with the shop owners. Such a breath of fresh air to experience such warm hospitality. Thank you again!

best family owned place to shop. we are on a city tour. stopped here and they have everything. three stores linked together: britto stuff, souvenir shop, & coca cola store. i got all my florida souvenirs: postcards, cigars, cuban coffee, and britto fish shower curtain hooks. they also have tshirts, hats, maracas, and tons of fun items we had a lil delay with the bus and the family brought out some cups of super cold cola.

I visited the souvenir store Little Havana Visitors Center and it is the best Cuban apparel store I’ve seen on 8th street. They have a connection next door to where their old store resided where they sell Romero Britto merchandise and shirts, posters and painting by the owners son. They also have a memorabilia Coca-Cola store in the very back that always makes me feel very happy to enter. The workers there are very helpful and friendly, they will strike up a conversation with you about where you came from. In my opinion, it is the best souvenir shops on 8th street. The atmosphere is very happy and giddy. I would return to it many times over just to talk to the friendly workers there.

I went to a local gallery and they told me to visit the gift shop at Maxoly. I went there and met the owner Jackie who was awesome and super friendly and she even went out of her way to interact with my young daughter. This is the best gift shop on 8th street. This shop has the best selection of items in all of little havana. I picked up some really nice things here that you find in any other gift shop in the area. The gallery had some really cool art pieces even though I only purchased items in the gift shop. Don’t waste your time in the other tiny gift shops.

I have visited the little boutique store next door for local merchandise. Their T-Shirts are the best around and have whimsical and local flair. I have bought some for family and even for my own kids. The owners are usually on hand and are really helpful/friendly. I wish them the best since it good to see a flourishing mom & pop store in Miami.

Love this place. I didn’t visit the art gallery, but visited a small store next to it. On our receipt, it spells Maxoly, I guess both the gallery and the store share the name? Anyways, it’s a store that has different Cuban style stuffs, all the fun and cheap things. We at last got a set of Domino. The ladies at cashier were really friendly, welcomed us by talking about our city, saying LA is like combination of NYC and Miami: D, then briefed us on the different kinds of rules of the game. We had a nice chat and loved this little place.

Art. Latin art. Masterpieces. What have I done in my life to deserve something from here? Someone Else’s soul, sweat and tears? I stare into the eyes of the artist via oil on canvas and listen to a story. One picture. One thousand words. Speaking of words, I love the definitions of words. It is my Modus operandi to wage a war of words with one single word. And the definition. Or, to find an alternative definition to the dictionary’s when poetry will suffice. Did you know that the definition of «standing tall» has nothing to do with height? Imagine if every word were followed with the exact definition. Dignity. Friendship. Hope. Love. These words have so much in the way of meaning. But the words are taken lightly too often. Said too easily. The meaning is lost. Oil on canvas. Emotion carved in stone. The vivid details of a great painting can tell you a story without words. It can break your heart. Stir your soul. Make you smile against your will. A moment always remembered. Never forgotten. Art is forever. The pain of love lost. The joy of love found. Frozen in time. There are so many pictures that a camera can not take. Emotions that an actress can not fake. Art can say what words can not. The emotions that we are incapable of expressing with words alone. Like the dreams we have, the ones where we are flying, art has no rules worth following. Only rules worth breaking. A great painting is like a song that you’d swear you’ve heard before. Every note is the one that you would have gone to if the music in your heart were capable of sound. I stare into the window of your heart. Oil on canvas. Emotion on canvas. How dare I deserve you? This gallery is more like a museum. The wide range of contemporary and ancient pieces, ornate sculpture and multi-medium offerings intimidate. I buy original art. It is always worth it. My only buying regret in the world is a painting I thought out of my price range once. I dream of it on the nights that I am not awake regretting. I left here with a print and the memories. I dare not deserve the original. It is too good for me.

During the monthly Viernes Culturales on the last Friday of every month in Little Havana, people get out to the streets to listen to music, dance, eat, and admire the arts. Little Havana in general becomes alive at night and brings out a crowd that makes you wonder if you’re in some sort of latinized South Beach with generally older, more sophisticated crowds and families. Of all the art galleries you’ll see while doing the monthly gallery-hopping, this one generally has the best art works on Calle Ocho. They gather some well respected Latin American and Cuban art works from all over, and they also hold some old ones(I spotted one that was dated back to 1955 that reflected Latin American Constructivism that was proving to be popular at the time). So if you’re planning to attend Little Havana’s Viernes Culturales to look at the arts, you’ll probably appreciate the art here. Some art works here however may not be suitable for young children(enlarged prostate in a painting was spotted here as well). Nothing much more sexual than that though! Another website:
