Mainzer’s German Deli

A delightful place, great ownership and an absolute charming atmosphere. I stick to the beer and chocolate, but they have so much more!

I moved down to Key Largo for a job in October and missed out on my normal Christmas traditions in Chicago, the Christkindmarkt. Just missing home, I decided to stop in after discovering this true gem on Unilocal.I’m so glad I did, it sa like going back home, all the candies and food items. Coming back soon!

Mr. Rony Mo has opened my eyes to all sorts of different types of food and this is one market I was glad to be introduced to.
We discovered this German market less than a mile from our house. They serve authentic German deli sandwiches and sausages. Their market also offers quite a few European items including delicious chocolates I haven’t seen anywhere else in Miami.
The service is so great and the owners remember us by name despite the fact that we don’t frequent too often. I would expect that sort of treatment after weekly visits but a few months will pass and they treat us like we’re their best customers.
If you like German food or just want to try something delicious, I definitely recommend this place.

This is a small family run deli. You would be wise to stop here. The strip mall that contains Mainzer’s is not much but houses two of my favorite places in this area of Miami. Pinecrest bakery I always knew about and liked, but I tried Mainzers for the the first time the other day. Just like I guessed, everything was so incredibly fresh. I had the rye bread, which I never regret choosing again. I had a simple corned beef sandwich, but it was fantastic. The tomatoes and lettuce were so fresh. The only complaint I have is I wish there was more meat. Definitely stop by this place. There is no inside seating, so I took my sandwich to the park and had a carnic. Also, do not miss the German potato salad.

A wonderful store with a selection of condiments, cookies, chocolates, candies. They have baking ingredients, flavored syrups, cake mixes, pudding mixes, potatoe mixes, sauces. They even make yummy deli meat sandwiches, macaroni salad (sells out quick!) they sell all kinds of sausages too!
Convenient location on S. Dixie Hwy. is easy to find parking. The owners are wonderful and have been there for years. It is always a pleasure to stop in and stock up on my favorite items.

Awesomeness! Dutch goodies in Miami! I am paying 5 times more than at home but he, it’s still good! Thank you Mainzer’s!

Adorable little German deli. Walked in after lunch and walked out with pfeffernuesse and some ritter sport bars. They also have Tomy mayo (Swiss brand, my fav!). I didn’t get to peruse long enough but would be back if around the area again. Very friendly service. Always wonderful to support a nice local business.

Excellent small business owned and operated by a wonderful couple. You have an assortment of great-​tasting sandwiches to choose from, both hot and cold. A big favorite of mine are also a good selection of different types of Germans sausages, which they can prepare for you there or you can buy cold and stick them in the refrigerator at home. The same goes for cold cuts — get them in a sandwich or buy as much as you want and stick them in the fridge to make sandwiches at home.
I always purchase the coleslaw when I drop by and my girlfriend loves both styles of potato salad that they serve (German and American).
Mainzer’s also has an excellent selection of various European products, primarily German, at good prices. This is my go-​to place to purchase Julmust, a Swedish soft drink similar to root beer, during the Christmas holiday season and the girlfriend usually ends up buying a German chocolate or two.
On Saturday mornings they get a delivery of fresh bread and pretzels from a local bakery. You even have the option of using some of these breads in your sandwich that day, which is an added plus.
There is really no other place like this in Miami-​Dade and is a true gem for the community.

This small German Deli is a hidden gem in Pinecrest. My family has been coming here since the parents of the current owners were running things in the 1970’s. They have been supplying the German American community with both staples and hard to find items. Saturday mornings there are fresh baked goods that you can call ahead and reserve (great rolls and pretzels), and during the week they make some of the best sandwiches!

The sweetest German couple you’ll ever meet run this deli. Don’t believe me? It’s been almost a year since I’ve been back here (just because I don’t live close) and I just remembered I told the owners I would write them a review with how happy I was with their service. So, here it is! Also the bratswurst was delicious, best made in store sauerkraut I’ve ever had.

This is a special place untouched by time. For at least 40 years I have been coming here for savory imported German delicacies They make delicious sandwiches, classic German potato salad, and all kinds Of salamis, sausages and more. Same family, same products, it’s very comforting to know that not everything needs to be bigger to be better!

I grew up in a German family and we have been going to Mainzer’s for years. There is really nothing like it in Miami. I always get a sandwich made with lachschinken and some of the delicious, freshly made potato salad when I stop by. The front of the store has shelves and shelves of imported German and European goodies, including chocolate (an absolute must!). The owners are a sweet German couple and they’re very helpful. Love this place.

The biggest treat I can give my husband is to come home with a surprise pastrami on rye from Mainzer’s.
Nothing says «I love you» and «I was think of you» more (in a PG way).
That, and the warm German potato salad.
They’ve been here forever, and I thinks it been the same little German couple the whole time.

I’m drooling just thinking about this place. My fiancé and I are both huge fans of all things German — beer, chocolates, mustard, potato salad, wursts, pretzels. Again, drooling here. The only cure is another trip to Mainzer’s!
We went to Germany last year for a week on vacation. Gorged ourselves on all the delicious food and beer, and came back craving more. Sadly, Miami didn’t provide many options for fulfilling those cravings, especially in an authentic & budget-​friendly way.
One of fiancé’s friends who lived in Germany for quite awhile told us about Mainzer’s. We went two weekends ago to investigate, and boy, were we impressed! We went to buy some weisswurst and maybe some mustard and pretzels… we walked away with more than $ 80 in items! And trust me, that bought a LOT! We got nearly 2 pounds of weisswurst (delicious white breakfast sausage that traditionally is served before noon, with sweet mustard, with the skin removed after steeping them), we got 3 kinds of mustard (horseradish mustard, sweet mustard, and a sweet & spicy mustard), 6 pretzels (freshly made and available only on Saturdays! Call ahead on Friday to reserve yours! We lucked out and they had some that weren’t spoken for). We also got a pound of delicious potato salad — the best we’ve had in the US by far, not quite as good as our favorite restaurant in Germany, but it will certainly do! We got 5 kinds of chocolates, one six pack of Oktoberfest beer, a packet to make our own weinerschnitzel, and some waffer chocolate treats. I fully believe we got our $ 80 worth!
I literally had to drag my fiancé out the door as he kept oogling other things he wanted… we could spend a whole paycheck here and not blink (and probably not even regret it, at least until rent was due).
If you like German food, this is definitely the place to go!

Mainzer’s German Deli is the epitome of my sheltered childhood forced by my mother because she doesn’t like German food. I, however, love all food, and got to experience many cuisines from around the world once I got to college. Unfortunately, I’ve been back in Miami 3 years now and didn’t know about Mainzer’s until goofing around on Unilocal.
For the record, this isn’t a full restaurant; for that you have to go to Fritz and Franz or even further north. Its a small German grocer with a counter and sandwiches are made in the back. They have a variety of sandwiches made to order including bratwurst and knackwurst. You can also get a side of various potato and macaroni salads, or order some meat to go.
The lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful, and while I stood around like a deer caught in headlights trying to figure out what waffle cookies I should try, there were a steady stream of other consumers entering the store.
I’m planning on going back with some friends to get some more wurst sandwiches, probably some macaroni salad, and reach a consensus on which of the many German chocolates, cookies or gummies we should try.

My grandpa’s 100 percent German, so you can bet I know my brautwurst from knackwurst and spaetzle from kugel. Back in Colorado, we have our go-​to German deli but after landing in South Florida, where oh where do I go?
I made it a point to go to Mainzer’s today for lunch, since I had time for once and usually am in a rush during the lunch hours. You can’t eat inside– just order at the counter and take it with you. I loved perusing the shelves, finding my favorite European chocolates and gummies hidden amongst the mixes for different sauces, desserts, and recipes!
I ordered the German sub but got it on a Kaiser roll (because I love Kaiser rolls) and had the nice lady stuff a sandwich with a wide variety of meats! I didn’t bother to even ask what it all was, because I knew that it would be delicious. I didn’t get any of the salads that they make fresh everyday, even though the macaroni one looked good to boot!
This place is as good as I think South Florida is going to get as far as German delis go… Whenever I want to have a German theme night for dinner (which I can see happening in the near future), I will definitely head on down and grab some sausages, sauerkraut, and whatever else I might need to take me back to my grandpa’s home country!

The more local and slightly smaller German Deli is this great place down on US-​1 and 122 at Suniland. The family owned store will make fresh sandwiches and has a good selection of German sausages and other delicacies. They also have some of the staples from home that cannot be found in the local grocery store. Try the Quark (with Nutella on a toast) or just get some deli cut sausages. Germans are know for good bread and this is another item to get while you are here…
This store is small but has heart and an amazing selection of German nick nacks… as well as some good Bier!

Small family owned deli that as my grandmother would say, «has been there a hundred years.» Not quite, as you will see by the fresh German fare. In my opinion you can’t go wrong witha hot pastrami on rye with lettuce, tomato and hot mustard paired with warmed German potato salad and an imported beir (s) from the fridge along the back wall. And to finish try one of the imported chocolates or cookies. Since there are no tables, its a great excuse to picnic.
There is also a selection of packaged dry goods and German language magazines for sale as well.

I’m originally from Mainz in Germany, so when I found out there was a deli named after my home town I had to check it out. I was not disappointed.
It’s a a quaint little German Deli that fulfills all your German needs from sandwiches, to candy, to coffee, and to magazines. I highly recommend it if you’re in the mood for some German.
