Marky’s

I really want to like this place. I have shopped here about 5 times and have had some bad experiences which has made me doubtful about their product. A Brillat Savarin non Affiné I brought home smelled musty and had a pronounced bitterness which is not a flavor profile you seek in this young cheese, a Rosette de Lyon which was soft, rancid and black on one end, and a wine which I probably should have known was too mature for its varietal and indeed turned out to be vinegary. Maybe it’s just bad luck? I hate to be a hater, but I think they have issues in their storage and/​or perhaps knowledge of what they sell. I’m sure their bottled and canned items are safe and they do have a great wine selection if you are seeking the big names. I will perhaps return but if so, will chose with caution.

Very unique place to shop for things you cant get in a regular market. Loved the variety of cheeses, wines, chocolates and honeys they have! Highly recommend buying the russian chocolates, they are amazing. The also have awesome french macarons that they sometimes put groupons for. Great place to get something for dad with the huge selection on caviars, wines, etc.

Long live Canned Foie Gras ! I looked like a superhero for hosting a shinding with all the Eastern Europe’s finest delicacies including cavier, and pates which really were hard to share. The Pata Negra de Bellota was no joke. I even prepped a cooler in my car for the ride in between. The cool thing is they do have an option where you can order online and receive it overnight! Now if only I could read Russian, perhaps I could make out half the inventory. The cheeses though are all good. I’ve never tasted a bad cheese here and with those fancy crackers, a tidbit of caviar, and perhaps a radish, you are now holding a beautiful hors d’œuvre. This isn’t the place you come to to feed a frenzy of football fans who are used to chicken wings, this is for the more refined group of people and obviously a smaller amount. Quality not Quantity. This place is absolutely awesome … People… who love caviar and gourmet food!!! For me it’s back to Paris — lovely atmosphere, best Servise and quality products .I recommend this place for every day and for special occasion. Best caviar catering service for my Birthday … All my guests was Surprised with the fresh tasty caviar and best presentation. Thanks from us !!!

God bless Marky’s. I’m so happy this place exists. It’s like my own personal portal to Europe to shop for foodstuffs. Their cheese selection is priced very reasonably. And oh, the cheeses they carry. Firm and mild or stinky and soft, they have it all. I normally shop at cheese course for my cheeses but cheese course is very heavy on the firmer American cheeses, which I love, but Marky’s has an amazing European selection at the best prices.
I just had my first visit there today and I felt like a kid in a candy store. Huge bags of frozen porcini mushrooms, a dozen varieties of Canadian fois, frozen macaroons from France that rival Laduree at only $ 1 a pop. Escargot ready to go or buy your own shells to fill with your own canned snails, game meats, well marbled beef, pata negra, wines, European butter, black truffles, truffles, white truffles, truffles, truffles, truffles, lobster tails, every imaginable preserve jelly and jam and even those you haven’t imagined all flown in from France. Did I mention the impressive selection of truffles, butter, cheese and fois? Whatever. Just go. Go and your kitchen will thank you.

This is probably the most well-​curated selection of gourmet foods and Eurasian wines I have ever seen. Prices I would say are reasonable — I saw many products for roughly or only slightly more than what I would have paid at other groceries. Just about any fine European prepared product you could ask for.

I rate this place a four because it has so much variety. Excellent choices in cheeses and cold meats that you could possibly want for a great gourmet diner to impress your guest or your main squeeze ;) I love their duck breast, cheese and saucisson selection.
The staff is short and not all that happy to help but they’ll tell you where to find what you are looking for. I guess they help those who they feel like. For the most part I find everything I need.

Just bought the food for a cocktail party in my house! Excellent cold cuts and cheeses! The owner helps you with recommendations and a ver nice attitude. Bought pata negra de bellota, jamon serrano, salmon. A beautiful brie, salami, pâté de campagne, sturgeon caviar, pecorino truffle cheese, and some delicious cracker to accompany everything! Will be back in a heart beat…

I can’t express how much I love this place. It has all the things you won’t be able to find at wholefoods — duck breasts, a wider variety of cheese, and a large selection of caviar (including jars if ikura — which was pretty good, surprisingly). These are just to name a few! They also have a grand selection of wines, as well as a meat deli on the Russian side. They usually have dessert cakes like Tiramisu as well right next to the deli. Great prices for the desserts! They are more pricey than your usual grocery store… but with good reason. There’s 2 sections — a Russian half and a French half. They’re not exactly the friendliest — so don’t expect great customer service… Feels just like France!
This is one of the few hidden gems in Miami.

Finally went here yesterday. A varied, albeit EXPENSIVE selection of cheese and Paté; sparten, cold emporium with Czaresque characters working the floors and counters. Except for the cheese sampler lady, the «help» here needs sensitivity training; what nasty, abrasive people AND I did not understand a word they said, they speak no English or Spanish in South Florida (faux pax). As a transplanted New Yorker, I was looking forward to buying some real cheeses at good prices from happy people: WTF was I thinking, Zabar’s move south, PLEASE!

We love Marky’s. The food is good, the selection is good.
But today, the girl working in the store, Hanna, was the most most obnoxious, arrogant and abrasive person. We shop there all the time, usually the staff is pleasant and helpful, this woman had a terrible chip on her shoulder. Her hatred of her job was obvious. A salesperson like Hannah can put a store out of business.

This store is a remarkable find: an independent specialty food store in a city remarkably short of them. The selection of pâté and cheese is especially exciting – though obviously the store also carries all kinds of Soviet-​bloc delicacies.
The store is a little careworn, to say the least (a little smelly even, but that’s the cheese?), and the prices are more than what you’d pay at, say, Publix. But the selection is pretty remarkable, and I don’t mind supporting an indie venture like this, even if the service can be. .. well, a little curt. Or Russian.
For example, we asked if a block of cheese could be broken into a more practical size. The girl behind the counter just looked confused, then came back a minute later and murmured, «No…» Okay, fine. It’s a little quirky – and we end up with twice the amount of DELICIOUS cheese to eat.
Marky’s also has a terrific selection of pierogi-​style dumplings, including pork, farmer’s cheese, and cherry. If you have any questions about preparing these, ask the VERY friendly Ukrainian woman in the room to the left.
Speaking of which, there’s a whole room to the right, near the back of the store, that’s there for the exploring, too. We missed it our first two times to the store. But it’s full of fancy kitchen extras that’ll perk up any cocktail or dinner party. So check it out!
Bottom line? Marky’s is the bomb! (And it’s not illegal to be gay there!!!)

Wow I finally went in here and what a surprise. The cheese selection and caviar is amazing. That is in one room then you walk into another room to a bunch of Russian products. This place was very interesting to check out and I am glad I did. Not sure I will go back but definitely was great to go in and check it out.

This rating is in regard to a Marky’s online ordering experience. I ordered five different kinds of caviar for a special birthday caviar tasting. I also ordered blinis, escargot, & foie gras. Everything arrived overnight, on the date requested. The quality was superb, and the items were well packaged & icy cold, which can be an issue, as I live in a hot climate. Prices were competitive, and I will definitely order from Marky’s again and again.

Great store with lots of European treats (cookies, meats, cheeses etc…) they have real Scottish smoked salmon, caviar, foie gras, saucisson, merguez, rillettes, crepes etc… It’s a real paradise, it’s like being home!
The store has no sign so look for the sign «Russian store» on the street! Go visit it, you won’t regret it!

While I suspect that Marky’s might be a front for the Russian mob, I think the place is amazing. It’s on a totally sketchy part of 79^th street (just east of Biscayne), and the windows are all frosted up so you can’t see inside. Probably a good thing for them, given the neighborhood.
They recently expanded the store so it’s pretty massive on the inside. Marky’s has two personalities. On one hand it’s a gourmet market, where you can find ultra-​premium items like foie gras (thank god we don’t live in California or Illinois), truffles, truffle oils, etc. You can even get frozen wagyu beef (American raised Kobe-​style heritage cows) here. Whenever, I want to make a special meal for my wife (see my profile picture of the Valentine’s Day Burger I made her), I usually stop by Marky’s first.
On the other hand, Marky’s is also Russian sundries market where you can find Russian deli meats (they get the best kielbasa sausage from Chicago, just the best), Russian beer (surprisingly good), and other Russian dry goods. The deli meats are amazing, and worth trying. They also will have some prepared foods (like beat salad (Yum), potato/​vegetable salad, and one time they even had these delicious Russian filled doughnuts) which are all very good.
You’ve got to come here if you like to cook or eat gourmet food. They also have a beautiful selection of cheeses and fine caviar and pre-​made blinis! This place is awesome and I’ve had a wholly positive experience each time I’ve come here.

Make sure you check the expiration date on all canned products. A few things I was going to buy were 2 years as expired. So I let the cashier know that right away, but it seemed like she was aware of it. She said there was the not expired cans on the same shelf as well… A week later I came back and found out that the expiration dates were erased from the cans and I could see smudges on the top of each can. I showed that to the cashier and asked why they they were making fun of people. She started blushing and she said that their customers know that the store sells expired food and it is half price. But I didn’t see any discounts at on any food .Of course, like any other Russian, she was trying to bribe me by giving some stuff for free…
This store is a scam. So check expiration dates on every single product when you shop at this store just to make sure that you won’t get sick

A rare thing to find is a friendly Russian store (if you’re not Russian), and Marky’s delivers both variety AND friendly service.
This will definitely be my go-​to place for spices and pickled goods from now on. They’re also cheaper than some of the other places, and it’s MUCH better than having to drive up to Sunny Isles.

I had an idea that this place was a gourmet market. But I had no idea that it was also a Russian market — a good variety of Russian /​East European teas, beverages (incl. beer), butter, canned products (herrings, sauces, etc), a grand selection of various types of cheeses, Ajvar ($ 3.30) and even various types of blinis & pierogis ($ 9 for 2lbs).
This is the second Russian market I’ve visited in Miami (the first being next to Manhattan International Bakery in Sunny Isles). The service and staff here are top-​notch. Buying butter? They’ll pack the butter with a package of ice to keep it cold until you get home. Can’t read Russian on the products? They’ll be more than happy to answer your questions (although I didn’t ask them to accompany me during the entire time I was slowly passing by the aisles.) It would be nice if they translated some things though, and do a better job at marking prices (it was practically nonexistent.)
If a gourmet market, and not Russian, is what you get a kick for, then this place will impress you well. There’s specialty rice imported from Spain, jellies from France (some for meats, such as Rosemary Jelly & Mint Jelly — interesting, no?), and they have crème fraîche, hollandaise sauce, and other stuff ready for you to use /​eat.
This is definitely a don’t miss! I feel silly that it has taken so long for me to visit this place!
