Miami Mini Bus

Remember that one time you took a bus from Saigon to Phnom Penh or rode a city taxi in crazy Bangkok or San Juan? Or, you took one of those local buses in Istanbul that only your local Turkish friend knew? Well, those experiences are similar to the Miami Mini Bus! The buses are simple — some may or may not have AC, some are newer than others, some are more comfortable than others.
I have to disagree with Joselius’ review! I have seen all different types of races and great diversity on this bus — from little old Asian women, Caucasian/​Spanish speaking and Haitian/​Caribbean people! I have never felt unsafe as a young woman.
It is $ 1.50 per ride, cash only. The routes include North and Southbound on NE 2^nd Ave and Biscayne Blvd, Northbound on NE 1^st Ave. I have never faced a problem with timing. The drivers are quick! The only thing that could make you late is the daily traffic, which is out of the driver’s control.
The company has really expanded in the last year, because there is always a mini bus every 10 minutes at every bus station. Just wait at a bus stop on NE 2^nd Ave and/​or Biscayne Blvd., and the mini bus will stop for you if you wave!
If you want to bask in deep nostalgia of your backpacking trips abroad and need a quick ride from Downtown Miami to Wynwood and Design District, then, the Mini Bus is for you, the practical adventurer!

the jitney! taking the jitney is like flying spirit airlines. its cheaper but it sure wont be the most comfortable ride of your life. the miami mini bus jitney travels north-​south/​south-​north. on NE 1^st ave and 2^nd Ave (north of 15^th street) and it only costs a dollar. thats right folks. only a buck.
some of the drivers are really cool guys. they are blasting music. talking to everyone on the bus… its an experience i tell you. ive taken the jitney a few times to go from downtown to the design district or buena vista. the jitney is part of miami folklore so while i think its awesome, i also know is not for everybody.
you wont enjoy the jitney experience if:
— you dont like haitians and/​or dark skinned people
— you are in a rush
while not precisely limo service, miami mini bus takes you places for a dollar and again, some of these minivans go by more often than the metro-​bus. so there. get on le camione papi, merci.
