Dr. Michael has been practicing in Florida since 1982. When he received his Florida License, he spent his first five years in an Emergency Clinic. He then worked at Dixie Animal Hospital for a year and then decided to open his very successful private practice and has been open for the past 29 years. He is a proud father of two sons Paul and Peter Michael who were both graduates of University of Miami Medical School. Dr. Paul Michael is a practicing Cardiology Surgeon and Dr. Peter Michael recently received his M.D./M.B.A. in Rehabilitation/​Pain Management. He is married to Dr. Sonia Michael the present Chief Medical Director of Humana Healthplans. Dr. Michael enjoys his time off with his Grandkids, going fishing, and gardening. Dr. Michael strives to help all his four-​legged friends with honesty and intregrity at a reasonable cost. He is very thankful and boasts that he has had the friendliest and most loving clients for the past 28 years.

Dr Michael’s clinic is highly recommended by our family. I was referred to him by my neighbor about 1.5 years ago for treatment for my toy poodle. His staff is very courteous, and the bills are reasonable. I recently brought him in for grooming (having waited entirely too long in between visits from a major national pet store). Not only did his office do a superb job on his grooming, but I could tell that they were genuinely concerned for my pet (because his hair was so matted). His office went out of their way to rectify the problem. Furthermore, Dr Michael is personable, and enjoys spending time talking to his customers. I consider his clinic a well-​run, full-​service veterinarian practice.

Dr. Michael at Michael animal hospital has helped me with my personal dogs, as well as rescues that I help. I couldn’t not imagine how some of the dogs would have ended up had it not been for his excellent care. Michael animal hospital is 45 minutes from my home and I wouldn’t even think of going anywhere else!!!

Dr Michael has been our vet since 1989. He currently treats my3 dogs (all are «seniors» and have been followed by him since puppyhood) Dr M administers their routine vaccinations and has treated them for a number of illnesses/​procedures such as: skin infections, pink eye (yes, dogs too can get it), teeth cleanings, tooth extractions, anal gland surgery, spaying, food poisoning intervention and weight management (1 of the dogs is overweight)
Dr Michael is a very professional and compassionate veterinarian, I cannot say enough good things about him and his office staff who are always so courteous and efficient. They are a pleasure to communicate with especially during emergencies that have come up from time to time over the years.
I highly recommend Dr Michael and as for us, I don’t know what we would do without him!

Best DR!!! Dr michael saved my dog from what could have been a really big infection! He did an amazing job at fixing the surguery that was done at another location. The staff and service was amazing!!!

I’ve been coming here for years and my father also used to bring his dogs here this place is absolutely marvelous the staff is super friendly and the doctor is very informed about everything and super helpful every time I have a question! I was recommended here by teacher and I have to thank her every single day. my dog is in perfect shape and I have to thank Michael animal hospital and his staff! I recommend this place to everyone best doctor In miami !!

Michael animal hospital has been great to our pets. We have been coming here for about 2 years and have received nothing but high quality service by Dr. Michael and by the staff. He spayed our boarder terrier and neutered our male French bull dog and both procedures went well.

After returning to the area, we needed to find a vet close to our new home. Michael Animal Hospital took great care of my parent’s dog years ago, so, we decided to go there. This was the best decision we made for our dogs, especially for our elderly beagle, Scooby who is twelve years old. Scooby was treated like a king, and most importantly, taken care of and he is pain free now. We, the family were also treated so well by the doctor and his staff. They are friendly, professional, and really exhibited a genuine care for our pets. We feel very fortunate that we found Michael Animal Hospital (again). Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

HORRIBLE! If Unilocal would let me give zero stars I would. The worst veterinarian I’ve ever been too. I decided to try Dr. Michael for the first time since I recently moved into the area. The vet I was using previously is now two hours away. I decided not to take the long drive. I chose Michael animal hospital because it was close by and his prices seemed decent. Unfortunately I made a huge mistake by coming here. I took my dog to Dr. Michael for regular annual vaccines as well as a physical exam to make sure everything is ok with my dog, just like I’ve been doing every year since I’ve had him. Dr. Michael does not answer any questions thoroughly. He did not perform a proper physical exam on my dog. He literally just looked at my dog and said everything looks good. He then gave the shots to my dog on the floor. From past experiences with other vets my dog has always been put up on an examination table. He was very rude and condescending throughout the whole experience as well. He was more interested in other things like taking pictures with my dog. He should have been doing his job and making sure everything is ok with my dog and answering my questions like a professional vet would do but he did not. Everything was over very fast. I definitely do not feel my dog was properly examined and taken care of. For the well-​being of your pet I recommend you stay away from Michael animal hospital. His cheaper prices reflected his horrible service. I cannot imagine putting my dogs life in this vets hands. I am grateful that I did not end up at Michael animal hospital with something bigger then just annual vaccines.

Great veterianry team ! My dog was recently hit by a car unfortuantely and was taken to Knowles as no other clinic was open at the time. Knowles was unable to give me a prognosis, stitch my dog up, nor able to stable my dog after being there for over 12 hours. They gave me two options, put my dog down or perform an MRI and surgery costing over 5 thousand! I brought my dog to Michael’s and with in the hour they gave me a prognosis, stablized my dog and stitched her up. Shes got a long road of recovery but it wouldnt have been attainable with out the amazing work these people do. Oh ! And the weeks stay at the vets office with fluids and meds was less than the day my dog spent at Knowles!

Took my cat about 40 min before they were set to close. Reason for visit was a possible allergic reaction. I was told the Dr. leaves when there are no appointments! That’s totally unacceptable! Looking now for another vet!

I’ve been taking my 2 dogs here through a recommendation from a friend who has been coming Here for much longer (with his dog). I have had a couple of urgent visits with my frenchie and all has gone smooth and not overly charged with ivs and monitoring, x Rays, etc.
Regular visits are much less expensive vs other vets as well, good attention and great availability. I spayed my dog other dog with them and all went smooth also fir a very reasonable cost vs what others quoted.
Only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the facility is not state of the art or anything, but ultimately, as long as the dr is good and the necessary is there to attend to the animals, that’s all that is really needed. Would give it 4.5 stars if .5 stars were possible.

I have to disagree with some of these reviews. Not only does Dr. Michael speak fluent English, he is also very knowledgable and caring with animals. I had to drop my baby 6 week old puppy at his office when he had an infection and Dr. Michael and his staff went above and beyond. His prices are also very fair. Highly recommend!

I’ve brought my pets here a few times. Yes, Dr. Michael is very cheap; however having gone to other veterinarians and being able to compare, you notice why. The facility smells terrible and looks dirty to match. I went in for a visit one time and the Dr. himself did not smell very good. He had a stain on his shirt, so I can only imagine what might have happened given that it is an animal hospital, but at least change, right? Dr. Michael is a good vet but his methods are outdated. Good if you want to do vaccines and preventives but I wouldn’t do surgeries here. The doctor speaks english, but there is a bit of a language barrier that makes things a little more difficult to understand without the help of a tech.
As for the lady complaining about having to pay for another checkup? I don’t see the issue. At the end of the day, the doctor and staff are doing their job. No one works for free. Not to mention people don’t go to their personal doctors and start asking for freebies. Vets go to school just like human doctors do. I don’t see why he should be giving anything away for free considering that he is already dirt cheap.

I had been going to this vet for a good 10 years and recently when my pet had an infection they did not follow up with a call to make sure she was okay and then when their medicine didnt work because I called and told them. They told me I was going to have to pay for ANOTHER checkup AND the new medicine. In which I had already spent $ 200 the last time I was there. The receptionist also lied on the phone saying it was going to be cheaper when it was not. Oh! And they charged me for a new patient fee when I already have several animals there! SCAM SCAM SCAM! The doctor can’t even speak English. I will not be returning to this vet.
