Publix Super Markets

This Publix is beyond the worst one I have ever been too.
They really need to shape up their deli dept. Miguel is super rude and unhelpful to the customers giving them attitude. He appears to be some type of manager since he was dressed differently which is really sad. Senior management needs to give him some classes on customer service or give him the boot.
I’ll never come back to this grocery store again. I rather drive to Pulix Sabor on Coral Way!

I have been coming to this publix for the last 10 years and would say that overall the staff members are very polite and helpful. However, I wish I could say the same for the management and security people they hire there. I have never been so humiliated and threatened in my entire life. I went to this publix one evening with my partner and spent over $ 100 dollars in groceries. Mind you over the years at this publix I have spent thousands of dollars over the years. As I was shopping I noticed a strange young man with a black beard staring at me and following me. At first I thought that this guy was either checking me out or high on drugs. He had blood shot red eyes and was staring into space. We go to order a sub as always then he follows us again and he tells the sub manager that he wanted to order the same thing that we ordered. Afterward we paid for our groceries, several store managers, a security guard and a lost prevention guy followed us out side and accused me of stealing a box of hair dye. I was so shocked. It made no sense at all. Why would anyone with a shopping cart filled with about $ 200 worth of groceries steal $ 6 worth of hair dye. The lost prevention guy basically barricaded me with a security guard and told me to empty my pockets. I’m not even sure a LP guy had that kind of authority. I said are you sure… At this point I’m so shocked and upset. I gave him a chance and allowed him to look at our grocery cart. Then he tells me that he saw me taking a hair dye box and empty it into my other box of hair dye that I bought. I felt so uncomfortable that I called the police. I spoke with a costumer service women who was so rude to me. When I went to go voice my concern and humiliation she brushed me off and said it wasn’t her problem. I really wish I could post her first name here but no one should go through the humiliation I went through. Not even the assistant manager did anything regarding our situation. No apology, nothing! This was clearly a personal attack and discrimination. I will never return to this publix again and advise no one who is gay to come here either.

This is the publix that happens to be near my house. Unfortunately I find myself in this location often due to convenience and then I usually walk out in a bad mood. The worse deli service ever. Wether you order on line or face to face. They carry expired items often. Other items they never have at all. The staff is slow and overall I have nothing positive to say about this location.

As a local and frequent customer at this particular Publix location, it is with a heavy heart that I write this review about the completely subpar (thats putting it lightly) service at the deli. Whether there is no line, 2 people ahead of me, or 5 people or more waiting, the line for subs moves at a GLACIAL pace. Even more upsetting, the lackluster and indifferent attitude of the employees making the sandwiches. It is pretty much a joke at this point, as you can expect to wait a minimum of 20 – 25 minutes for a 6-​inch sub. It makes no difference whether you are using the pre-​cut cold cuts or request a particular deli meat or cheese. These employees could care less about how long you wait and you can rest assure that you will see about 3 or 4 other employees in the background who do not even think to help. I will not be going to this Publix any longer.

3 stars is about right. Even though this is my neighborhood Publix I avoid it if possible. Here are the reasons why… The deli employees never seem to get anything right and do not speak English at all … The cashiers are great, but they never have help to bag groceries. Where are the bag boys??? So annoying!!! And then there are Always long lines! Clearly you have enough customers to bring in more cashiers and keep your customers happy. Back to the Gables I go !!!

For the most part, I enjoy coming to this Publix location… The traffic in this shopping center is a little uneasy and sometimes it may even be faster to find parking in a crowded mall, but I come here anyways.
I have an addiction and it’s not one I don’t plan on getting over anytime soon and I get my fix here. What is it that has me so hooked that I refuse to seek help? Well I’m glad that you’ve asked (hoping that you actually did ask). The Publix subs have corrupted my very soul. Boars Head deli meat, 15-​grain hoagies and all of the toppings I could ever imagine… Oh boy, I’m licking my lips as I write this!
Like most/​all (haven’t done much research) Publix locations, this one offers online ordering. Anytime I «accidentally» forget to pack my lunch for work, I always pre-​order online and pick up my sub at the store. I’m Literally there for 5 mins and on my way back to work with 50 minutes left on my break.
The trouble with pre-​ordering sometimes is that when they’re going through a hectic lunch rush, you have the chances of getting your ticket lost through all of the commotion; but if you let a staff member know that you’ve been waiting for longer than your expectant time — they’ll be happy to work on your sub ASAP.
Everything else in this location is pretty standard. Everything is neat, the staff is helpful and the managers are always walking around greeting the customers.

A little smaller than many other locations, but they make up for it with big service!
The staff is helpful, and friendly. I take my mom shopping here and love the online deli ordering. I place my order, go through the store, finish my shopping and stop by the deli to pick up my order. Easy, peasy, sliced and cheesy!
You may get a little congestion in the parking lot, and just inside the front door, but once you get past that area, it’s all good…
Like the advertising says… Publix, where shopping is a pleasure.

The saying is definitely true, that when food is prepared with love & patience, it tastes better. I didn’t make a fuss or a complaint in person (because it isn’t my persona), I assumed I would just Unilocal about it. Although the young man preparing the sub was friendly, you could tell he was a bit nervous as well as unorganized and sloppy. He added sooooo much of each topping that i could’ve made a bowl of salad to eat with my sub from everything that fell out as he tried closing it. A little training for the sub guy, please.

I like this publix because it’s convenient when I’m on my way home. The staff is real nice and friendly but this particular publix is a little small. As soon as you walk in, you face major traffic at the deli/​bakery so what I do is start the opposite direction. Also, the isles are very small so it’s difficult to concentrate on your groceries since you have people saying «permiso» or «Oye» or «you’re in my way».
Gotta love my Miami people!!!

Like slow pace, and rude fellow shoppers? Stop in here! This is hands down one of my least favorite Publix stores, but it’s also the closest to my home. I may drive the extra few miles and go to the one on Flagler and 84^th.
It seems the majority of the clientele AND staff are elderly. Not that I’m prejudiced against our senior citizens, but this Publix is always swamped and S-​L-​O-​W. Not to mention it’s located within walking distance of most major hotels in the Blue Lagoon area, so it’s also pretty touristy, and I’m beginning to think there’s some price gouging going on at this particular location. I mean, $ 8.49 for a jar of Skippy peanut butter? $ 10 for a pound of sliced deli ham? What the crap?!
The Deli is probably the worst section of all with regard to wait times. I’ve waited literally 45 minutes on several occasions with 3 kids in tow for my number to be called. And there are certain other shoppers who don’t believe in the numbers system and will hop in front of you. I’ve also found that most employees here don’t speak English, particularly in the Bakery and the checkout lines.
The layout of the store is atrocious. It’s cramped and poorly planned. The entrance to the store leads you directly into a few «Specials» bins, and then to an aisle with the prepared foods/​Deli/​Bakery section on the right. On the left side of the aisle, there’s a cooler case with some prepackaged deli meats and cheeses (though not all of the cheeses are here; others are on the complete opposite end of the store by the Dairy), bacon, eggs, etc. Then there are shelves in the middle of the floor stacked 5′ high with baked goods and specialty breads. Only one cart can fit on either side of the shelves in the middle of the floor. Imagine the kind of chaos this creates just trying to reach the end of the aisle where the produce is! It’s literally a struggle trying to get from one end to the other, having to stop and say «Permiso!» every foot or so because people park their carts right in the middle to peruse the offerings without a second thought to the people behind them. Short of ramming them with your cart (which I have thought about on several occasions) there’s no getting these people to move out of your way ’til they’re done doing what they’re doing. Super annoying.
As others have mentioned, parking here is an absolute nightmare. I don’t even want to imagine what it will be like when the Burlington Coat Factory opens here in the spring.
With all the above being said, the reason this Publix gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because they always have what I’m looking for and for the most part, they do keep the shelves well-​stocked. But I think I may begin going to another Publix like I mentioned above because every time I shop here, I can feel my blood pressure going through the roof from having to deal with the slow pace of the staff and the super rude clientele.
Publix should really consider gutting this store and changing the floor plan… and maybe an overhaul of the staff wouldn’t hurt either.

I love Publix I do I swear I do but this one is something else. They take forever for everything. I don’t know if it is that they are short staffed or it is just that the people that work there are on constant slow motion. It drives me nuts. I understand it is a busy location but damn. No matter what time you go it is always slow service. In addition, if you call the deli to try to get your cuts in advance. They either don’t pick up the phone or put you on hold forever. It is so annoying…

For a Publix, this place leaves a lot to be desired, but I must admit that there deli department in one of the best in Miami.
They offer quality meats and cheese by Boar Head, which I love! This is the only place I’ve been able to find it and the prices are right on the mark with the off brand that Winn Dixie sales.
The workers in that section are always friendly and eager to help. They also do that number systems which helps because people can get overly pushy about having to wait in Miami.
Only 3 stars thought because its way too bad that everything else in this place is cheaper and just as good as Winn Dixie.

As other have noted, this is the spot for elderly Latins to shuffle around and not buy much. The really old ones who don’t have the stamina to follow someone around can be found with their keisters parked on the benches inbetween the sets of automatic doors. They stare at you with puppy-​dog eyes that beg you «take me with you, por favor.»
I don’t think I’ve ever used a shopping cart here, there just isn’t enough space to maneuver one without bumping into one of the aformentioned shufflers.
On to the positives:
they always have fresh fried chicken
the seafood section is small, but they usually have what I’m looking for.
they’ve recently added a craft beer section with a couple Dogfish Heads, 3 Magic Hats, a couple Abitas and Carib.
they always have boston butts in the pork section. Most supermarkets in this area only carry them seasonally but I can always find one here if I’m in the mood for 5 lbs of pulled pork.
they’re the only supermarket around that carries the Cheddar Rold Gold pretzels. I LOVE them. The first time I saw them here, I bought 10 bags.
The parking lot can be look like a Calcutta swapmeet if you’re here during the rush and I would have given this 2 stars but I’m usually here on the way home from work around 330pm and it’s not bad then.

Dear Publix,
I was torn between the 2 and 3 star ratings and ultimately downgraded. This Publix is rather small and crowded, which is not a good combination. Even the door to get inside you is small, and doesn’t fit more than 2 people with carts at a time. And the parking lot?! A total madhouse.
I stopped in here on my way to my prima’s house for my niece’s first birthday. I figured I’d bring some beer for the adults and see what other last minute items might be necessary. Funny enough, I actually ran into my prima here, picking up the birthday cake! As I tried to decide on which beer to grab, my attention was grabbed by the Newcastle mini-​kegger that was already icey-​cold. I couldn’t be more excited!
Then, I needed to make my way out of your establishment, so off the crowded registers I went… I managed to find a cashier who was able to get the line moving pretty quickly, so my wait was not as long as I first expected. If I can offer any advice, it would be to de-​clutter the isles and to reorganize the store. Make it seem less crowded by widening the isles… Just a thought.

«I Brake for Viejitos»: That’s the name of this review. Depending on the hour of the day — this place is either swamped or empty. But regardless of what time you come — be prepared to maneuver your cart around wheeled walkers and people who are seemingly lost at times. Not only that — it’s a pretty small Publix and the aisles are kinda small, so that doesn’t help. And the most registers that I’ve ever seen open are four.
Now not EVERYONE here is old — but significantly more than other Publix’s I’ve been too. If you are stuck in traffic on W. Flager going Westbound — then make your stop here. It’s a pretty convenient stop for me when I’m coming from the East — on my way to p/​u my kids from daycare. But if you can get to the LeJeune Publix — you’re much better off.
