Ms. Hernandez graduated Cum Laude from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in April, 2003. In May 2011, she graduated Cum Laude from St. Thomas University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree and a Certificate in Intercultural Human Rights.

Since graduating from law school Ms. Hernandez has dedicated her career to the practice of immigration and nationality law, criminal law and family law. Ms. Hernandez has represented clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services («USCIS») on family-​based petitions, applications for residency, asylum applications, and applications for citizenship.

Ms. Hernandez is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Ms. Hernandez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
