Description

Specialties

The Roxy Theatre Group (RTG) is devoted to enriching children’s lives through the performing and cultural arts. RTG helps to keep kids off the street and engaged in a safe environment by providing arts education and performance opportunities for all children in the community, with a special focus on underserved populations, ages 3 to 17.

History

Established in 2002.

Our doors opened in 2002 with 250 students enrolled in various performing arts classes. Since our inception, we have produced numerous recitals and musicals, have implemented a couple of highly recognized after-school programs, conducted an annual summer camp and have participated in numerous local, regional and national competitions and events. Our annual season consists of Fall Follies, an autumn recital; Holly Jolly Follies, a winter recital; two main-stage musical productions; our year-end Recital, which is a culmination of the knowledge the children have garnered throughout the year; community outreach performances; and several original shows written and performed by parents, students, local teachers and special guests.

Meet the Manager

Charles S.

Manager

As part of a small group of theatre production professionals, Charles helped establish The Roxy Theatre Group as resource for the South Florida community to enrich the lives of its residents, especially children and their families. Charles has participated in many local performing arts initiatives and performances, and has credits ranging from improvisation to musical theatre from The Jackie Gleason to The Olympia Theatre at the Guzman Center for the Performing Arts. His personal goal is to help establish a strong enough theatre community in Miami that will coax local talent into pursuing their performing arts careers here by being competitive with the traditionally strong performing arts communities around the country.
