Sorry to say, it appears the Shasta isn’t doing business as a restaurant/bar these days. Whenever I was in the Three Lakes area, my family would enjoy dining at this famous local spot. Nice folks. Okay food. Cold beer. And the WIFI was free. Hope to see it reopen the next time I’m visiting.

Came in to celebrate mom and grandma’s birthdays all the way from Honolulu. Grew up vacationing at parents summer place on the lake. Friday night fish fry is a must every time. This time grilled trout was excellent. Unfortunately felt somewhat rushed. We were sat at what felt like a table on the surface of the sun, as it was very warm even with shades closed. Rest of the side dishes were average. Salad bar was a really bad rendition of an all you can eat yuck fest. Server, though busy never once cleared a plate or empty glass, which had filled table because there were six of us. I would have given less stars where it not for the great tasting fish. Will continue to go to Mount shasta on annual trips to the U.P. only because of tradition.

The food doesnt warrant 5 stars. Sometimes it can be hit or miss. I’m giving it 5 stars for being a restaurant that has survived 50 plus years in desolate Michigamme Michigan. I’m giving it 5 stars for being one of the coolest looking restaurants you will ever eat inside. It also had scenes from«Anatomy of a Murder» fiimed there. Thats right Jimmy Stewart and Duke Ellington ate there. Thats gotta be worth something. Dont expect to be wowed by the food. Just check it out for the surroundings and the decent food they have there. The fish fry on friday night is very good but the fish hate it!
