Love this place! Always has what I need. Much better customer service than the mega Walmarts! A diamond in the town.

On July 4th of this year, I walked to the end of School St to await my sister, who was picking me up for the parade. It was raining so I stood in the doorway of Benny’s. The sign on the door said they were opening at 10:00 am; it was 9:25, so I wasn’t worried about being in the way. The manager thought I was waiting for the store to open, so he opened half an hour early and invited me in. Another employee arrived a few minutes later and she also came out to let me know the store was open if I wanted to come in. I felt bad that I wasn’t there to shop, but they were fine with that too. Although I didn’t need anything, they certainly did win themselves a loyal(and vocal) customer with their willingness to accommodate! Five stars to Benny’s for the highest level of customer service!

So really I’ve been on a negative streak when rating lately. I was trying to stay on the positive track but there are so many places I had discounted that I had negative things to say about! I would give this store at least FOUR stars if not for the people who work there. Pretty sad huh? Anyone who is familiar with Benny’s knows what a great store it is. If you’re not familiar, Benny’s is a department store in Massachusetts which most people would describe as «having everything.» They truly do! Not one time have I been to a Benny’s and not found what I needed! Except for good customer service — in this Benny’s. This store is quite a bit smaller than many other Benny’s, and I may in fact be wrong, but I believe it’s family owned and operated. Great reason to go there right? Nope. As a child I used to love going into Benny’s, again they literally have everything imaginable, and especially in the summer the store is packed with anything a kid could want. I loved going there. This Benny’s I avoided as often as humanly possible. Where do I start. Every time I walked through the inviting doorways, I’d be bombarded with loud, horrible country music. Already enough reason for me to not shop here. As I wandered the store almost every time I had the strange sense that I was being followed, and I was, usually by the HBIC. I swear for all the hundreds of dollars spent here they acted like I was going to steal something every time. And HORRIBLE attitudes. Every time I went there I was treated as. Less than a customer to say the least. No service with a smile here! But then again this store is in Middleboro. Maybe they were just hating on my 10th and final finger! Like I said, four stars for the store itself, it’s a shame the people there are such a drag.
