History
Established in 1956.
Middlefield Cheese has been producing delicious Swiss cheese varieties of high quality since 1957, when Hans Rothenbuhler made its first 250 lb. wheel of cheese. Hans and his wife Ann worked as a team in creating Middlefield Cheese, with Ann running the retail store, known today as the Middlefield Cheese House. Today, the company is led by the couple’s son, John, who leads with the same passion and commitment to quality as his father.
