History

Established in 1981.

John Scalzo Jr started his very own carpet cleaning company in Brooklyn, NY in 1981 to support a growing family. With a wife, 5 kids, and a few dogs and pets along the way there were always plenty of mouths to feed in the Scalzo household. The name and reputation of John’s business quickly grew and spread throughout Brooklyn into Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

In 1991, the family and business moved to NJ and continued to grow while providing customers with additional cleaning services.

In 2011 the company was passed down to the 2^nd generation of cleaners, Ben and John Scalzo III. John Jr is still involved with many business functions but is proud to see his legacy for quality and honesty continue to live on in his sons.

Today, the company and the list of provided services is still growing. Scalzo Maintenance will continue to take pride in exceptional work and in implementing the latest breakthroughs in cleaning products and technology. The best is yet to come…

Business Owner

Ben started working as soon as he could walk! Always playing with the vacuums and carpet cleaning tools, he was fascinated with Dad’s «toys» at a very young age. Growing up in a family owned cleaning company he quickly learned all the ways to do the job right. Carrying on the family legacy has been an exciting and challenging task but «when you see the reaction of our customers after we are done with a job, it makes it all worth it.»

Benjamin is a 2^nd generation business owner. John Jr, his father, started American Carpet Care in 1981. In 2011 they combined and started a new company under the name Scalzo Maintenance LLC trading as American Carpet Care.
