Am-Pm Towing Service

Great job! Hats off to Steve, the owner who fixed my jeep. I have had continuous issues with my older model Jeep Liberty (fuel system, electrical issues). Also, finding out my brakes had been «put on backwards» from a previous experience. Going through am-​pm after multiple central jersey auto body consultations, my jeep is in top shape! Steve went above and beyond and gave me a discounted price on labor/​parts. It took about two weeks, but it has been almost 5 months now and I have had ZERO issues. Thank you Steve! I finally have a reliable car.

I had a VERY unpleasant experience with AM/​PM. Apparently many of the police departments in this area rely on this establishment to do any towing; I was in an accident and was not allowed to use my AAA membership to tow my car, and instead had it taken to AM/​PM. I had no say in the matter. The owner was very friendly and helpful on the day of the accident, and recommended me to a friend who ran a car rental service. Truly too good to be true. The situation quickly deteriorated. I wanted to tow the car to a dealership closer to where I live (do not live in the mechanic’s area at all and I wanted to have a dealership repair the car). The owner, Steve, informed me that I had to send a signed notarized release via fax in order for him to release the car to anyone; that he had already ordered the parts and priced the job — that it would be done in two weeks. Biggest mistake ever to let him strong-​arm me. Six weeks later, he wasn’t returning my calls. I would have to call six times in a day before he would speak to me (many times the phone would be picked up and immediately hung up — funny what caller ID can lead to). They had to send the car to a dealership in the area on TWO separate occasions because they were incapable of completing the repair. To put the icing on the cake, after the fourth week — Steve promised to cover the cost of the rental (since he was way beyond what my insurance covered); after picking up the car EIGHT WEEKS LATER, I get charged on my card without being notified, and am threatened by his buddy at the rental agency with a $ 2,000 charge if I don’t pay what was already put on my account.
To conclude this lengthy tirade, what bothered me the most was the lack of communication; he would say «I’ll have it ready for you by Thursday,» and come Wednesday afternoon, some issue or another would come up. He is NOT running an upfront legitimate operation. In fairness, the car seems to have been repaired well, and so far have not had any issues (aside from an OUTRAGEOUSLY priced repair bill). If you can avoid using this shop, PLEASE do.

wow what a jerk. I have an accident and my car gets towed there. then i ask him twice for an estimate to fix it, he never produces one. then when my insurance company tells me how much they will give me for the repair, he agrees to take it to repair the car and negate the storage fees. two days later, now he wants the storage fees. (700) Then he jerks me around while i was trying to get my car out of there. Real professional… NOT. Do yourself a favor, if you are ever in the Hazlet/​port monmouth area and need a tow, dont call these people, you will be sadly sorry. and if you have no choice, get your car out of there as soon as possible.
