Dr. Lynette M. Guida, Naturopathic Doctor «Dr. Guida, a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist, combines the use of botanicals, acupuncture, oriental medicine, nutrition, flower essences, homeopathy, physical medicine and lifestyle counseling to create natural treatment options for the whole family.» I have been seeing Dr. Lynette Guida, ND for several months now. You see, I haven’t gotten sick in like 10 years, so when I got a killer sinus/cold thing that just wouldn’t go away, I had to find a doctor(I’ve lived in CT over 8 years, and didn’t have/need a primary before). So, I looked up naturopathic physicians online, called Lynette, and the rest is history. In my first visit, she sat with me for about 2 hours, going through everything in my life from family history, to diet and exercise, to relationships, emotional wellbeing, etc. In naturopathic medicine, there is the belief that there’s a connection between your mental health and your physical health. So, based on our conversations, Lynette and I talked about what kinds of diet, exercise, and mental health changes would aid in making me feel better. In addition to my own work, she gave me some vitamins, supplments, and flower essences to take which helped me in physical and emotional ways. Many people are skeptical about naturopathic and alternative medicines, but I was amazed how the changes we talked about really have made me feel better in so many ways! Lynette is so open, personable, and honest… she explains everything to you, lets you ask lots of questions, and won’t try to sell you stuff that you don’t need. In my subsequent visits to her, she sits and talks to me for an hour or so each time. No rushing me out like a normal doctor would(I think we’ve all had those doctors who only see you for 5 – 10 mins). Seeing Lynette is like seeing a therapist and doctor all in one! I love her! For as long as I live in CT, I will keep seeing Lynette for anything I need. I’d recommend her to anyone who is looking for an ND or acupuncturist, she rocks! *** her website( ) is a riot. If you look at it, it’s totally incomplete. It looks like she used a website template of some sort, and there is actually still«template» information on the website that she never filled out and personalized. Next time I see her, I’ll have to ask her about that. :-) Don’t judge her doctor abilities by her web site-making abilities! UPDATE: Her webpage has improved. :-) But I did take a star away from her, because months after the last time I had seen her, she(or her receptionist, rather) came chasing me down with threats of calling collections, because I hadn’t paid an outstanding bill. Problem is, I had always paid my co-pays and for my supplements INOFFICE after every visit. It was about a $ 20 charge, so I just paid it to get her off my back(as I no longer had receipts/had moved out of state), but I still feel like she was charging me for something I had already paid for OR that wasn’t my charge to begin with. I wasn’t happy about that and I felt like she was definitely in the wrong there. If I was supposed to pay, I would have paid already. Clearly an error on their end.
