The way these people do business should be illegal. They have quite a set-​up, being the tow service on call for the state police in the Middletown area. When my car broke down on Route 17 last year, the police called them and even though I wanted to wait for my husband to see if he could get the car started, I was told that I would be charged the towing fee because they made the one mile trip out to my location. They would not tow my car to my house or my mechanic, which were both about 5 miles away — but would ONLY tow to their own garage. Then they charged me a daily fee for «storing» my car — even though I came back just a couple of hours later to pick it up and tow it home ourselves. They locked the car behind a chained, fenced-​in area and refused to give us access until we paid the ridiculous towing fee and daily storage fee. The car had broken down by the exit ramp to 211 (which they are right next to).
I learned two things that day. Don’t ever let the police call for a tow truck — and NEVER use Martine’s Service Center for anything.

This is the Mechanic to call when your car breaks down Upstate NY. Located in Middletown right of the exit, I think in #120. This business has grown so much from the last time I was there. It’s a sign that he must be doing the right jobs. They have tow truck services and mechanic services.
