5 stars for bartender Todd alone! He’s just the best! Very friendly and personable! My husband and I go usually for drinks and appetizers and the food has been great! They changed the menu a bit and it’s great! If you only went when it first opened, give it another try! You won’t be disappointed!

We’ve been there a couple of times. The service and food are both pretty good. The Hamburgers are very good and the beer is really cold. We will be going back.

Metro staff sort of gives off a snobby feel, staff standing around and looking at you is a little wierd. I came in after a long week of week today. I’m a maritime worker/operator and I work on the water… Came in a little dingy and tired. Had a few oysters to start and the braised pork belly and tenderloin with mushroom Grits and Chorizo pork hash… It was amazing. My bartender mark was also awesome. My only advice to management and staff(not including mark from Colorado because he was great) is don’t judge a book by its a cover. Saw a few looks that make you feel uncomfortable but it didnt take away from the awesome food or great service from Mark the bartender/waiter. Some people may come in dingy from work but all money is green so be sure to put every customer in the same frame. In my case I like to eat well and tip well, I get you want to have that upscale feel but don’t forget about the reg guys the hardworking for the money guys. Regardless of any of that I recommend Metro for awesome food and hope that Mark is your server. I will return because the food really was delicious. #BuddhaReview

Bar is good. Food is ambitious, but needs better and more consistent execution. For the price, they need to figure out how to get entrees out for the same table at the same time. I have high hopes for this place but have been underwhelmed more than a few times.

Food was awful and so was the service. Took 10 mins to get drinks and the beer was hardly cold. Server didn’t offer specials until we asked and only was able to recommend French Fries when asked what the most popular app was. Sat next to a table where 2 orders were incorrect, 1 of which had to get sent back for a second time because it wasn’t right. Saw another table get seated and wait 10 minutes without being helped do they got up and left. Staff was friendly but not knowledgable of the menu. Burger was over cooked and tough and the grilled shrimp were extremely fishy.

Just went to Metro Pub for a drink at the bar. Sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came to wait on us! Another couple was there also and we kept waving at a guy who obviously worked there. Still no service! Pretty lame for a brand new business!

Food was excellent. Service was good too. Restaurant was not to busy though. Menu is alittle pricey for the area but, The Decour is nice and hip. Very cool bar with a custom draft system with a large variety of craft beer. I would recommend this restaurant.

My son tried the sirloin burger and you could taste the smoke wood grill flavor! I had a turkey club and they happily traded out regular bacon for turkey bacon. The sandwich was huge btw. Waiting on dessert but we will definitely be back.

Ugh, I probably should cool down before I write this review… Nah I won’t. This place has struck out. Strike One: 1st visit, we were seated quickly but it took 15 minutes to get a waitress to take our drink order. Another 30 mins to get our drinks. My beer was wrong my wife’s wine was correct. I ordered a Bells Two Hearted IPA and they brought me a 3rd Wave. Drink was free and they got it correct the second time. Food was ordered and it took an hour for it to come out. I had the pork two ways and it was over cooked and rubbery. The wife had a turkey burger. She said it was fine but within 45 mins of eating was on the toilet sick. Strike Two: 2nd visit(places have off nights so what the heck let’s try again) We had an hour before our movie so we stopped for drinks and an appetizer. We were seated quickly again and they took our drink order quickly this time(Sauvignon Blanc and an Old fashioned) The table next to us was seated 5 mins after us. Waitress took their drink order and came back with their drinks promptly and took their food order. Man at the table asked the difference between regular burger and a sirloin burger the waitresses response was«I dunno maybe marbling?». I’m laughing at the lack of education of the menu but 20 mins later we still haven’t received our drinks. After getting up and finding the waitress we got our drinks. Mine was correct, the wife got a sparkling wine. I told the waitress her drink was incorrect and she proceeded to argue with me until I explained what a Sauvignon Blanc was. Finally the drink was corrected. Cheese plate came out without accompaniment and one of the cheeses was just a wax rind. Almost late for our movie, again I had to get up and find the waitress to get my bill and I promptly gave her my card because I couldn’t wait another 20 mins for her to come back. Decided that was enough and I wasn’t coming back. Strike 3: I know I Know, why did I go back a 3rd time!!! Well there isn’t much going on in Middletown around 1:00 and we were hungry and it’s been over a month since the last incident. Why not try one last time? Well I ordered a cup of coffee, a water, a «Meat and Cheese» sammie and a Caesar Salad. My wife had a side of veggies and a Caesar Salad. Sat at the bar and Nicole was very nice. She took care of my wife and I and our food came quickly. Not bad I’m thinking in my head. As soon as the food hit the bar we started eating. My wife said the vegetables tasted weird so she didn’t eat them. Salads and Sandwiches tasted ok. Felt my stomach turn about 15 mins into my food and I hit the bathroom. BADNEWS!!! Walked out and paid because the second round was coming quick. We still got charged for the crappy vegetables but I didn’t care because my tummy was wrenching. Got home and dropped a bomb like Hiroshima. And here I am, on the toilet writing this review. Worst part is my wife is downstairs laying the hammer as well feeling just as sick. IMO this place flat out sucks… I will NEVER return here again and I hope this review steers to away as well.

What an exciting addition to Middletown. It’s nice to know that my hubby and I can go enjoy a nice craft beer selection and not have to drive all the way North. The menu is different. They’ve found a way to put a fun spin on many classics. I had the Conductor burger and it was nothing short of Amazing. My hubby and I spent several hours there the other day with the bartender Sarah. She was very good at understanding our taste and made excellent recommendations. We even had 2 desserts which were deelish! Last but not least the atmosphere was very welcoming. I can see us becoming regulars at this establishment.

Husband and I arrived around 7:30 on Saturday without reservations and they seated us right away. We spilt a flight of beers to start. Half were good, half not so good. That’s what is so great about a flight – you can sample some new stuff without having to order a full glass. We ordered a couple small plates and the sirloin burger. Husband enjoyed the deviled eggs and pork belly. The olives are house-cured and were outstanding. The burger was greasy but good, and the fries had good flavor but were a bit limp. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We were reluctant to try Metro after seeing some negative reviews, but I’m so glad we gave them a shot. Maybe people complaining about portion size would be better off at Texas Roadhouse or an all-you-can-eat buffet. Maybe people complaining about slow service are just accustomed to the pace of fast food and chain restaurants. And maybe people who don’t like the prices should head to a city above the canal to see what is normal for this type of restaurant. Metro definitely outranks other restaurants in the area. Great atmosphere, service and food. We’ll be back.

The restaurant has wonderful atmosphere and polite staff. My husband said his burger was great. My meal was so so. The French fries are excellent. Have been there twice both times for lunch. The first time I had the devilled eggs appetizer. Yummy. We will go back.

I went to Metro about a month ago, just a couple days after their opening night. I was there around happy hour and I sat at the bar. Bar staff was very friendly. Beer list, while it had a fair amount of choices, I feel like the variety wasn’t great. It was kind of like there was a lot there but not much there, if that makes any sense. Another note on the beer list, maybe write a little bit about the beer? Settled on a Lagunitas IPA, beer was cold, but at $ 6 for a pint during happy hour was on the high side I thought. Looked at the menu, decided to get some shrimp fritters. Not an impressive portion for the price, and not really that good to be honest. I figured this could be due to some opening week bugs and they might smooth some things out… Planned on going back but after feedback from my parents and friends it seems like nothing has changed so I’m not going to bother. I understand what you’re going for Metro, and you’ve got a good market, but you’re off to a really bad start. You’re a gastro pub, not a five star eatery. Up your portions and drop your prices. If I’m going to spend 50 or 60 bucks a plate I’m going to go somewhere that puts out that kind of quality. Also, fix that beer list. Descriptions, bitterness, color, type… help the drinker make an educated decision. Branch out and find something a little more unique. I can go right down the street to BWW and get most of the same beers.

Nicely done interior – we felt as if we were in a big city restaurant, though the refitting of the lumber building had a rustic feel as well. Looks like eating outside will be possible in good weather. Food: something for everyone(except vegetarians and vegans, I think.) Small plates, burgers and casual dishes up to full entrees that run about $ 20-ish on average. I had the mussels in sauce verjus(a green grape juice that subs for vinegar or lemon.) Absolutely delicious. The mussels were perfectly cooked and it was a generous portion. It could have been hotter – as could have my companions’ burgers and fries. They liked the burgers a lot – well-grilled and charred. The casual menu included wild boar and also venison chili. Service was minimal and the order plainly had sat at the pass under the lights. Service was the dull spot in the experience. The bread and buns were mediocre – soft commercial bread rather than artisanal or better quality burger buns. There may be a wait to get on as a customer of a good bakery, but the bread was not up to the quality of the other food. I didn’t check the wine list, but there were many beers, draft and some bottled. We didn’t order dessert, which were seven dollar plates of a jarred apple pie, gelato or some kind of chocolate and whipped cream concoction. Dinner with drinks for three came to $ 48 before tip. Not bad. We plan to be back.

My wife and I came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were immediately seated with a warm smile. The place looked great. It was almost half full. Food service was quick and attentive. Meal was warm and delicious. We will be back to try other selections.

It was not a very good first experience. Started with the pretzels which were a few balls and not worth the money. The accompanying Welsh Rarebit was good. The turkey tenderloin club was a major disappointment. 1) tenderloins turned out be be lunchmeat even after we asked to make sure they were tenderloins. 2) the«club» was not toasted. The burger was average and cooked as requested. The beer selection was good. Will probably not return unless they change their menu and improve the food.

Wow, not impressed at all, really wanted a nice drink and a casual dinner, what we got was something else. We ordered the metro and sirloin burger medium they both came out rare!, also the menu said the sirloin burger had brioche bread and white cheddar, but it came out with yellow cheddar and store bought potato bread. Really?,(when you went to the store to buy the potato rolls, you should have bought white cheddar also). We asked for the manager and he did come over and offer us a free dessert but the streak of running out of menu items continued. The chocolate cake was supposed to come out with banana gelato but came out with vanilla. There must be an issue of communication between the wait staff and kitchen because the waitress said they didn’t tell her of the changes. The manager did take off one burger. Very disappointed and likely won’t be back!

So I came here on a Weds. night and it was packed but we were able to get seated immediately. It went downhill after that. Before I get into the food I will say our waiter was very friendly and the décor was rustic and inviting. Now as for the food… we waited an hour and a half for our entrees.on.a.weekday. Completely ridiculous. Then once we got our food the food was so subpar! I had the turkey burger which was over cooked and bland and I got less than a handful of fries to go with it. We also had the pork belly two ways which had a decent flavor to it but the meal was cold. Lastly, we had the Cornish hen and it looked and tasted dry. Acme chicken is better than this. To top it off all of the meals were overpriced. Also, we had a couple alcoholic beverages and they also lacked flavor. I had the metropolitan and it tasted like water. Overall, I wouldn’t return here. The wait time is too long and the food is terrible. Maybe things will improve once the restaurant has been open a little longer.

My wife and I went for a late lunch today. We ordered drinks, which seemed to take forever, we ordered our food which wasn’t anything large. The food took forever, and as I’ve read in other reviews not alot of flavor . Also thought the prices were alittle high.

When we arrived for lunch there was only one other patron. Still, it took several minutes to get seated. Salad was fresh but a little bland considering I was expecting more pizzazz from the Maytag cheese, I also would’ve liked is for the salad to have contained small chunks of the cheese. My guest ordered a spinach salad and instead receive some type of salad with lettuce. The very pleasant server acknowledge the mistake and swapped it out for the correct salad. The soup she ordered came in a fairly large bowl but was only one third filled so either they need to change the size of the bowl so it doesn’t look like a teeny bit of soup or they need to give you more soup.(A nice breadstick, long and crispy would’ve been perfect with the soup, but no bread or crackers of any kind were served . My macaroni and cheese was made with gnocchi noodles and it was delicious! They definitely got the sauce right on that one. Dessert menu was very ho-hum, I thought and when we considered one of the items, it turned out they were already out of it even though it was only midday. We were told by the server that they hadn’t gotten it in in a few days. The place is sparkling clean and the décor was nicely thought out and decorated tastefully. I noticed the bar has one hook on each side for purses so they could improve on that by adding a couple more hooks if they want to encourage women to sit at the bar:) I’m sure a lot of this is the restaurant working out the kinks of a new place and I’m looking forward to visiting there again!
