This is the WORST Popeyes ever! They never have anything from food to cups. My last visit was a few days ago walk in only one lady standing to the side apparently waiting for her order no one else my two daughters and I stood there for a good 10 mins while all employees including the Mgr were attending to the drive thru it wasn’t until one of the cooks in the back brought to Mgr attention that we were standing there then when he finally did take my order he didn’t have what I wanted with racks full of chicken and an empty restaurant. This hasn’t been the first bad experience just first review. Not to mention that the employees are mostly young and inexperienced and rude. There were at least 3 of them sitting chit chatting and apparently on break.

New owners are rude and incompetent. Took 32 minutes to get my food. Chicken was old and dry. My request for refund was refused.

This store needs to get its act together. Sign out front says under new management, does not bode well for this location. I came in ordered 8 piece meal asking for all dark meat. They said it would be three minutes before chicken was ready. I said not a problem. Chicken came out, they waited on drive thru orders first and by the time they were ready to start my order they were out of dark meat. Said it would be another 10 minutes for more chicken after I had stood waiting over 10 minutes already. I asked for my money back and walked out! Bad customer service!

We have been here twice and were pleased both times. The staff is polite and it doesn’t take forever to get your food. No missing items. My husband got a specialty pie as dessert and actually received it, which was a pleasant surprise compared to the Vails Gate location. The place is also clean!

The service at this location is a bit slow which was compounded by a rude customer last time I went. A girl who had already ordered a feast of food announced to everyone in line that she«forgot something» and apologized in advance for cutting in line. «Ok, fair enough. She must have forgotten one thing», I thought. She then put her phone on the counter a said«go ahead». What followed was what sounded like at least 4 people shouting over each other through a tin can speakerphone. The cashier was immediately done with this. He just stared straight ahead, obviously trying to free his mind from this situation. The girl noticed the problem so she yelled at the phone for everyone to order one at a time. Someone ordered crawfish étouffée which I don’t think has been on the menu for years but before anyone could explain this all of the voices started yelling over each other again. Slowly the voices controled themselves and communication was made between the tin can cellphone and the cashier. Minutes continued to pass by and customers in line began pleading with the woman to stop. Finally all of the voices had spoken and the cashier wiped the sweat from his brow. The total was over $ 70 for«something» she forgot. I finally received my tray of glistening golden fried food after over a half hour from my arrival and it was good. They forgot a biscuit with my meal but the quickly replaced it with two when I told them. The food tasted excellent as always which is why I accept the fact that it is slowly killing me. Popeye’s fry recipe is the best on earth, I could eat any part of an animal fried with their breading.

I pulled up to the drive-thru for a first time visit, and the guy asked me what I wanted. I asked for a chicken sandwich combo, and he started laughing with his co-worker about something(microphone on) — essentially ignoring me. Then, as I asked again for the chicken sandwich combo, he said«We don’t have any sandwiches right now». Then I asked for the tender combo, and he began dealing with the customer picking up at the window(with microphone on). I repeated my order, and he asked what side I would like. I asked for mac and cheese — «We don’t have any mac and cheese right now». I say: «Ok, just cancel the order, and have a good night». He says: «Ok, have a good night». Weird experience — I just said fuck it and left. 1 Star.

This place is beyond disgusting… Terrible employees… Slow service. First we were told a delay on mild tenders… after waiting for a while for the order they come over and say they didn’t have any spicy chicken ready for the other order. I will never go back to this location.

For the first visit here I am not impressed. Salt and pepper containers were empty, no butter for the biscuit. It’s new to the area and the employees assumed we knew what to ask for. I don’t know what dipping sauces they have, I don’t know to ask for the butter and I don’t appreciate going back to the counter numerous times.

My husband and I arrived on 5÷23÷14 at 11:30 a.m. We went to the door and pulled and it was locked. We saw a man standing outside the doorway and now understand why he was not inside. I looked at the sign on the door and this location is supposed to open at 10:30 on Friday. I looked inside and saw three female employees sitting at a table eating and one was on her cell phone. Count on this location shutting down soon because the employees just don’t give a crap about anyone but themselves. This was my birthday and I wanted Popeye’s but this was a very bad sign. Went down the street and ate at Perkins and felt welcome and had a great meal.

Went to the drive thru a little after 5pm. The guy who took my order was very friendly, repeated everything so I knew he had it correct. Quickly moved up to the window where a friendly young girl gave the total. She was so nice, made sure the person getting my drink did not add ice, as per my request. She also gave me PLENTY of sauce when I asked(I’ve noticed that a lot of popeyes restaurants do not give you sauce unless you ask, and even then they only give you one). Great experience from this one visit. I really appreciate everyone’s positive attitude.

This Popeyes location took over an Arbys restaurant that had been in Middletown for years. We were excited to have a Popyes in the neighborhood since we prefer it to our existing KFC. At the moment, the crew at Popeyes is too new to judge, but suffice to say that training will be needed to address: * Too many crew members behind the counter without clear instruction as to what their role should be — employees should be assigned to take orders, while others prepare the orders for customers * Drive-thru is too slow; persons taking customer orders have trouble comprehending orders and pick-up at window gets confused with two or three teens at the window * When a customer specifically requests white or dark meat chicken they DONOT want a different chicken part than they requested; this location will swap/substitute white for dark(or vice versa) without consulting with the customer — CHECKYOURORDERBEFORELEAVINGTHEPREMISES. All said, my hope is that management will step in and make this a successful and pleasant place to eat. We’ve been looking forward to having a Popeyes.
