How did you get started in this business? Owner and operator, Lance McMains, started in the overhead door industry in 1988 at a company in Grand Junction, Colorado. He apprenticed under a Master Door Technician. In 1994, he moved back to Texas and continued to work in the industry as a contract door technician around Fort Worth. In 1996, he started A K Overhead Door, a company that capitalizes on years of expertise, yet still provides quality hometown service.

AKOD sells and installs both residential and commercial doors and openers. We also build and install decorative shutters for windows and decorative accents for garage doors.
