Bark and Sparkle

This is my puppy first visit and first grooming experience. I drop him of at 3 pm and was told that they will call me when he is ready in about 2 hours. When they call me back I was busy, so I told my husband to pick him up. When he came back, my baby was lethargic like he has been drug up and there was a razor burn on his scrotum area. Now, I have to deal with the wound on his genital that looks really red. I will not take my baby to this place again.

I chose this place originally because of the name (obviously!) I keep coming back because my dog is happy! He doesn’t get anxious when we walk in, and when I pick him up he’s happy and perfectly groomed. I feel the groomers really take the time to understand you and the dogs needs. I’ve had horrible experiences in the past (not to mention any names… pets mart…) and didn’t know if I could do it again. As long as the service and pup is happy I’ll continue to come back!

I actually would like to give Bark and Sparkle no stars. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect in a public place before. If your dog doesn’t act like a human with perfect manners, or if you adopted your dog DO NOT GO HERE. Bark and Sparkle made me feel like my dog is vicious and out-​of-​control because she is uncomfortable around other dogs.
1. I made an appointment and I had to reschedule two times because of bad weather. The second time I never got a call back to reschedule. I had to call to make an appointment, and by that time I had to wait another week to get my dog groomed. Each time I called I made the groomer aware that I recently rescued my dog, and she was still getting used to people and other dogs.
2. I arrived early to my appointment just in-​case I had paperwork to fill out. The receptionist saw me standing outside with my dog, and I still had to wait at least 5 minutes for her to come and unlock the door.
3. I was the first one to arrive that day, but I had to wait because the groomer did not arrive yet. I was told that the groomer would be there either right on time or a little late. While I was waiting other dogs came in, and then my dog began to bark and growl. I apologized and explained I rescued her, I’ve only had her for about a week, she’ still getting used to everything, and I plan on taking her to training at some point. A customer said I should take her outside to calm down. I did this and it worked for a little while. While I was outside, the same customer asked if my dog was up-​to-​date on her shots. I explained that all dogs that are rescued have to be up-​to-​date to their shots before they find their forever home. I also stated we have already had our yearly vet visit. The customer then stated I really needed to take my dog to a training class, and that Bark and Sparkle was going to be very busy today.
4. While waiting outside, no one working for Bark and Sparkle checked on me or even cared to communicate to me that the groomer had arrived. I accidentally left my dog’s paperwork in Bark and Sparkle, and no one cared to take the paperwork back out to me. I had to ask a random customer walking into the groomer if she would be able to bring the papers out to me. Thankfully, she was very kind and helped me get my dog’s paperwork back to me.
5. By now, it was 30 minutes passed my appointment time and I was still waiting outside. I finally got a chance to open the door to yell into the groomers to ask if the groomer made it in yet. The receptionist informed me that the groomer arrived. I asked if I could take my dog back to be groomed, but she wasn’t good with other dogs right now. I could see in the back that the groomer was already grooming other dogs that got there after me. The receptionist went to ask the groomer if my dog could go back to be groomed, when she came back outside she informed me that I had to pay$ 15.00 more for faster service. I just said never mind and I left.
Bark and Sparkle gave me the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Even if this place is convenient for you to go to I would drive further for a groomer that will treat you and your dog humanely.

We have been here twice for grooming. The first time was with our dog who needed a bath and brush really bad. We had gotten bad at not brushing her as often as we should. The price was reasonable ($ 50). The did the furminator deshedding treatment and our dog looked amazing when she was done about two hours later. The groomer told us she brushed her for over an hour getting the undercoat out. We couldn’t have been happier on our first visit.
The second visit was for a cockapoo we were fostering who needed a summer cut. Once again the groomer did an amazing job and he looked like a different dog, but in a good way. The staff are always friendly and willing to talk to you about anything. We have never done the self-​grooming here but are willing to give it a try with the cockapoo. Our dog didn’t respond well to the self-​grooming at another location so we will stick with the grooming.

Really really cute little groom shop. They have self serve bathing, and if you don’t know what you are doing, of have questions, they are there to answer them for you. They have many grooming options available AND they just got a new groomer! Try them!

not happy with my services. my dog still has mats in her muzzle and the hair on top of her head is different lengths. the staff treat her sister so wonder fully-​they loved loved her. sigh.

I’ve been to bark and sparkle 4 times now & twice have been dissatisfied with them! After my 1^st appt they went out of their way to make things right & the next 2 trips were fine. This last trip however will be my last! 8:30 appt for a very nervous dog who needs to be done 1^st and quickly. Neither happened as an employees dog was groomed as my dog sat in cage while another dog barked repeatedly. She was the 3 rd dog seen even though she was suppose to be 1^st. The groomers attitude was” whatever you don’t like it leave” I spoke to the owner about how unsatisfactory this visit was & her response was” most places wont let you stay” wtf basically give me your money & leave. She coulda cared less… Will NEVER go back again!

Today was my 2^nd visit here with my two pups. I notice the attitude the 1^st time I went but whn I came back to pick them up in about 2 hours they looked very nice other than paying extra for my dogs nails to get painted tht was a mess and all in her hair it was ok and this was the 1^st time they ever was groomed professionally. Today I decided to go back cause overall I was pleased with there hair cut. Ok the lady I talked to at 1^st was great but whn I started asking questions cause on there website it says they give a walk threw and consultation she called the one who the lady who was going to groom them up. Attitude again smh. Left them @10:30 about 4:30 they called. The first 1^st visit was $ 45 per dog they charged me extra cause they was matted which I understood. I paid 115.00 ok cool. This visit they charged me 150.00 so I asked for the break down she sd 55.00 per dog 10.00 for nail paint which 1^st visit was 5.00 and still a mess! 10.00 for matted and she tld me one of my dogs was infested with ticks and she made me feel so bad how she carried on about tht! To top it off they looked ok but for 150.00 I was expecting them to look liked they looked the 1^st time but they didn’t cause as she said they where «a mess».
Whn I have seen dogs way worse looking than they was.
Overall will not go back they lack to me in customer service and that speaks volumes to me! My dogs may have been a «a mess» but I was charged and I paid for the so called mess.
Not to mention again how bad she made me feel!

I really like this place staff helps is friendly and remembers you!
This time I didn’t bathe them at the same time, but just used one tub. I was faster and they were more familiar with the proceeding. Both Lucy and Charlie let me blow them almost completely dry!
I hope we don’t have to wait as long next time.

I just got home with my cocker spaniel.
I couldn’t be more in love. They treated me amazingly, despite being a mess when I dropped her off, shaved her completely (most places take it on themselves to leave her «poof» on the top of her head), and were super quick. And the prices are amazing. Cheaper than a lot of the other groomers I’ve been too, and did a much better job (and their prices actually included nails and a bath, unlike others I’ve been too).

Bark & Sparkle is an awesome place to take your furry babies to be groomed and I highly recommend them. The staff is super friendly and the shop is very clean. My dog was over due for his haircut and was starting to look like Chewbacca when I brought him in. They did a fantastic job on his haircut and he was handsome looking! We will definitely be returning!
