Its the bomb dot com. Better than starbucks tbh. Love the atmosphere, very cozy and they’re always very friendly.

This is the best coffee shop– great staff, great roasted coffees (includes organic), warm atmosphere, breakfast, lunch and yummy pastries. Also, great open mike Thursday nights with wine and beer!

Very hit or miss. I love this place but I get disappointed when I walk in and see if certain people are going to be making my drink. It’s very inconsistent. I can get a latte that’s perfect from a more seasoned employee or one that tastes like burnt coffee with foam and a newer employee. Maybe training is the issue.

This is an excellent place for a cup or some friendly conversation. The staff is always extremely helpful, the sofas and chairs are comfortable, and the seasonal caramel macchiato is tasty. I always enjoy this place, and am lucky that it’s only about a mile from my home.

It was simply okay, from the service to the food and the very dense, dry pumpkin bar. I could see it as a quiet, out of the way place to kick a few chapters out but I prefer to do that with a chai tea that I would actually enjoy.

Fantastic coffee, great local coffee shop vibe but food is meh… Recommend for true java fans but a meal probably best served somewhere else.

Great coffee selection and very friendly employees. Support your local non-​starbucks. My only issue, which is a very small one, is that the music is just a little too loud which makes it hard to do work. Other than that, A+.

I have been a regular at CC for a number of years and they have very good coffee and a terrific staff. Today I had lunch for the first time and it was very good and a good value. I also had Josh’s cold brew iced coffee and it was much smoother than the standard iced coffee from days past.

I stopped here for lunch while waiting for an appointment. I ordered the grill cheese which was tasty. All sandwiches come with chips and a pickle. It was an appropriate sized lunch. The atmosphere was quiet and calming. The staff was nice. It’s around the corner from my job so I’m sure I’ll stop in again.

I decided to try this shop when I was visiting friends and family in Richmond. The woman who took my order for a chai latte gave me three flavor options and I went with the unique-​sounding green tea chai, with almond milk. She told me it would be better than Starbucks and I smiled. Well, after my first sip of this creamy, lightly spiced, cool beverage… I was hooked! I kept telling people all day how delicious it was, and halfway through the drink I was actually bummed that soon I would be done, knowing that I don’t have a Carytown Coffee down in NC to get another anytime soon, haha! It was by far the best chai I have had, and it has indeed ruined Starbucks for me. In sum, if you are in Richmond and like chai lattes, run don’t walk to this location. Enjoy!

Love stopping by here and getting oatmeal and a coffee. Such a nice atmosphere with books and cool posters and great places to sit. Very cozy.

I really love Carytown! The muffins /​scones are made from scratch! Really warm atmosphere; they even have a real
fire at times. A great spot to relax, grab a book (they have plenty) and start the morning off right! Convenient location for easy I and out; plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Open mic on Thursdays for a little, fun entertainment. They even serve beer, if you need stronger than coffee or tea.
Don’t forget to get a stamp card for
some freebies!

Quaint little coffee shop on the south side. The coffee is really good, and the ambiance is relaxed. I haven’t eaten there yet, so I can’t comment. They have tons of coffee options and sell packages to make at home. If you buy packaged, you can grind yourself, or they will do it for you. They also have a little «library» section that I thought was unique. The staff is always really really friendly. Sometimes it’s pretty busy, but never so much that you can’t find a seat. Parking is never a problem, and they have a few small table outside.

Found this gem after a workout near by. Absolutely love it! Super cozy and quiet. The blended ice vanilla latte is delicious! Now I stop there after ever workout which I’m sure defeats the point but it’s worth it.

This place is perfect and everything a genuine coffee shop should be. Sofas, chairs, books, coffee… sigh. It’s casual & cozy, has good music and good roasted coffee. The Moroccan blend is special-​a blend of spice and sweetness-​amazing.
The food here is okay, pretty good-​better than chain shops for sure but not fine dining. It’s a coffee shop!
The only drawback to this place is they close at 6 pm! Be aware! I hope they reconsider this-​it would be a great place to go post movie/​dinner/​date whatever. Oh-​open mic night on Thursdays (the only day they stay open later). Haven’t been yet but sounds fun.

Carytown Coffee is a quaint neighborhood coffee shop that is perfect for getting some wireless tasks done. If you need a break from work, or life, they also offer an impressive library of books to read. Great spot for meetings, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I’m a regular, you should be too!

I’m surprised this place isn’t more crowded given the lack of local coffee options. The coffee and espresso are very good. I was also very impressed with the breakfast choices. Awesome Danishes and bfast sandwiches. This place is pretty cute too! Lots of books and posters to look at. Comfy couches and big chairs. This place is a gem in this neighborhood!
