Heart of Ireland is Richmond’s premier school of Irish dance. Under the direction of award-​winning choreographer and Champion dancer Andrea McCarney, TCRG, Heart of Ireland is the choice for Irish dance instruction in Richmond. Located in Midlothian, we offer solo and ceili classes for all ages and abilities. Our Irish dancers have performed on a Carnival cruise ship, in Walt Disney World, at the Meadow Highland Games & Celtic Festival, at the Virginia Dance Festival and many other local community events. Heart of Ireland dancers are also featured performers in the new Irish dance production, Irish Mystique.

Heart of Ireland School of Dance is a proud member of the World Irish Dance Association (WIDA). In 2012 and 2013, Heart of Ireland dancers placed in the top 5 of their age group and level at the NAIDF National Championships. Let us welcome you to the wonderful and joyous world of Irish dancing in central Virginia!

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Andrea McCarney is a certified Irish dance instructor (TCRG). Ms. McCarney received her certification through the World Irish Dance Association. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance from Sweet Briar College. Ms. McCarney is the primary instructor and artistic director for the studio.
