Madori’s Liquor & Deli

Great neighborhood business with fair prices, good selection, and a nice deli. Try the chicken salad. They also have wine tastings that are a fun time.

This is the best wine-​tasting event in the country. In spring, 2012, I was passing through town on my way to Ohio after an extensive Route 66 road trip. I ran into a make-​shift sign on the side of a main drag stating wine-​tasting at 1−5pm. What was thought to be sipping and sampling wines to pass the time turned into an awesome culinary event unlike any other.
No winery, no picnic settings, no countryside, no grape vines, no wine cellar,
no French château; just a simple family-​owned friendly atmosphere where
you feel right at home… Chicago-​style !!
The people were great, as the food was spectacular. The deli in the back
was preparing hors d”oeuvre every ½ hour. I loved it so much I will go back every year. Never seen 100s of wines at 10 – 15 vendor stations offering wines from that particular vineyard… all inside of a liquor store is unthinkable. Its
illegal in many states as it was surreal just to be there.
Count me in next year 2015 Windy City «friends of distinction» !!

Their chicken caesar pasta is mouth watering good!
They get four stars from me because watch out how they ring you up. Always ask for a receipt they randomly charge for «news» when all I ever get is this pasta.

I constantly try to order Kegs from this place only to be not called back or they never bothered to order the keg for me. I give them chance after chance but no more. They are over priced anyways but was willing to pay more for the convenience of being close to home. Taking my business to Binny’s. Two stars for their deli which has very delicious sandwiches…

Ok, I am vegan, now, but I didn’t used to be. I actually used to work here, and I can make a first-​hand account that it is spotless, clean in that deli. Also, the food is homemade and fresh. It is also very decently priced. I used to make the food, and I used recipes from the owner’s mother and grandmother, along with other family recipes, right out of an old-​fashioned recipe card holder!!! I also used to do the ordering of meats and cheeses and such, and no question asked if something even remotely looked like it was old, it was immediately thrown out and replaced with a new product. The health inspectors always gave an A plus, then stayed an enjoyed a sandwich. Check this place out! If I wasn’t vegan, I would still be eating there!!!
If they still do wine tastings, OMG, go!!!

This might be closer to 2.5 stars than 3, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for being a local, family owned business.
I got a keg of Miller Lite from the people at Madori’s for a surprise 30^th birthday I was throwing my boyfriend. The overall experience was pleasant albeit overpriced.
I came in Friday to «order» the keg. The older gentlemen behind the counter wrote my name, phone number, and order in a spiral bound notebook. He made fun of me a little for not knowing anything about keg size, but it was good natured. He gave me the approximate cost. I gave him my pick up time and went on my merry way. Came back on Saturday paid for the keg and 5 22lbs of ice which was all loaded into my trunk by a very nice employee. All in all I was happy with the experience.
I mentioned it being overpriced, and having never bought a keg before, I don’t have much basis for comparison, but the general consensus was I overpaid. The keg itself was $ 118 plus another $ 115 in deposits for the keg and tap. I had called the Binny’s in Orland, and they priced a ½ barrel of Miller Lite at $ 80 plus deposits. Ultimately, the way I see it was I paid for the convenience of picking up the keg ½ mile from my house rather than driving to Orland on a Saturday afternoon when I was pressed for time getting things set up for a surprise, but it’s unlikely I would go there for a keg in the future.

This is a liquor store with a deli in the back. You probably wouldn’t know about the deli but its a favorite among locals.
The special of the day was a meatball sandwich — buy one get one free. $ 3.99? Sold! The meatballs were good, looked maybe even home made. With it I got a bag of chips, pickle and a small side. The small side was tuna salad, I would have expected something like cole slaw.
Even though its a few doors down from a Subway, I’d rather patronize this non chain because its cheaper, fresher, with more interesting choices.
So if you’re passing by and in need of a generous sandwich at a good price, stop on by.

For a little family owned liqour store, where the local early 20-​somethings (i’m thinking more like late-​teens) come buy beer by the cases when their parents are away, this place has a really good variety on wines, tequilas and vodkas. I stop here when I’m in an absolute rush and can’t make it out to Binny’s.
I also come here when I’m looking for Ciroc vodka because apparently P. Diddy sells that stuff off the shelves in a hot minute and I can never find it anywhere but at this liqour store. Could be because the local 20-​somethings (according to their «ID») haven’t refined their vodka tastes.
Another bonus, it’s not skuzzy, it’s bright and clean. Sorry, most small neighborhood liqour stores tend to be a little fugly.
