Pearson Honda

I noticed that most of the reviews to date are about Pearson’s maintenance department, but my experience was purchasing. I believe that anyone who is realistic has to admit that purchasing a new car can be a mixture of emotions. It is one of the largest purchases we make in our lives. Of course, the new, slick auto will be amazing, but along with it comes with big payments and the dreadful purchasing process.
I wanted to stay in the area and support my local businesses, so I visited in advance to check it out. I chatted with a salesman and the sales manager. I took both of their cards. They were pleasant and professional, but not pushy. Yeah! When I returned a few weeks later to possibly make a purchase, there was a little confusion. The salesperson I had dealt with was no longer working there and the sales manager could not initially find my paperwork. Once this was all resolved, everything was incredibly smooth. We had done our research, knew what we wanted and were wiling to pay. The negotiations were minimal. We couldn’t believe it! Next, we were shuffled off to do all of the purchasing paperwork, nice, but again seemed somewhat disorganized. Got exactly what I wanted! The entire process was the quickest we’ve ever experienced!
Thank you, Pearson, for appreciating the service of our men and women in the military. Don’t forget to ask them about it for a discount. Nice!

If you love your Honda take it here for all its maintenance. The west broad location sucks… bad. The colonial heights location is so-​so but this location on hull street is just impressive. The car port/​service reception area is very nice and the customer service is on point y’all. Always a great experience and always top quality work. I don’t really trust anyone else to touch my car anymore…

I’ve had lots of experience with this dealer. Three cars serviced by them. They are consistently ethical and professional. Today they gave me a free oil change and tire rotation because they were running late. Awesome!

I had a great time! After a seriously crappy experience at a different dealership, it was a welcome change. Frank Barlow did a fantastic job walking us through the whole process, answered all of our questions, and made us feel really good about the whole thing. The finance department jumped through lots hoops in order to get us a best rate. I’ll be repeating the process here over again the next time I need a car.

Very dissappointed. Car lost AC 2 days after purchase, left multiple messages for some type communication… took well over a week (enough for them to book the deal). Then to add insult, I live 40 minutes away. They stated they would mail the tags upon arrival… well that didn’t happen either.

I desperately needed to get my oil changed and I wanted to get it done by a Honda certified technician using the proper oil for my vehicle. I know it sounds kind of unnecessary but since my car is still relatively new I wanted to do everything I can to help maintain it as best as I could. No appointment needed but I scheduled one anyway so I didn’t have to wait. I came right after work and there was almost no wait. You can actually pull into the waiting area and they will drive your car to the shop.
The service technician was super friendly and I really wished I could remember his name. I think it was Scott. He was courteous and got all the paperwork done without much to do on my part. I waited in the waiting room and walked around a bit for about 30 mins and my car was done. Please get the coupon online for oil/​filter change (regardless of type) and a tire rotation PLUS a car wash all for $ 35! It was such a good deal, compared to some other auto shops and they only do the oil/​filter change. They couldn’t wash my car because of my bike rack but that wasn’t a big deal.
Several employees came up to me and asked if I needed any help when I was walking around the dealership so I appreciated that. The next time I need to get my oil change I will come here!

I went into this dealership today with my brother. A salesman approached us, never introduced himself or asked us our names. My brother asked him if they had any Accord hybrids or coupes on the lot. The salesman said yes very rudely, then we had to ask where, so he pointed at a general direction. He was so incredibly rude, he kept his distance from us and wouldn’t engage us in conversation. We felt very uncomfortable around him and he completely ruined our car buying experience at Honda. We had to ask to see inside the car and he made that into a huge ordeal. His name was Greg Gohlke. Luckily we went down the road to Toyota and had an amazing experience. I don’t know if all the Honda salespeople are like Greg, but i recommend staying away from him. We will never be goimg back there again.

This is simply the BEST car buying experience I’ve had in my 47 years. RUN, DON’T WALK, & GO BUY A CAR FROM FRANK GOODMAN!
Near the end of April I did my due diligence and requested quotes online from 2 different area Honda dealers, a Mazda, dealer, Ford, and Hyundai. (I wasn’t necessarily stuck on a brand). Almost immediately I was inundated with return emails, phone calls, etc. What stuck out was the higher degree of professionalism displayed by Pearson’s internet manager. It just seemed like everyone else wanted to play «the back & forth game.» Pearson’s folks seemed like they really wanted to sell a car, Yes, but also wanted to help me make the best buying decision. There is VALUE in buying from good people folks! The Pièce de résistance is found in a great man by the name of Frank Goodman. Polite, professional, UNsalesy, listens to your every word, and puts you first. At this point it was very late at night and he had been there since the AM. I would have been grouchy and irritable. Not Frank. Kept my wife and I involved and informed in the entire process. He explained everything in detail. He gave us his contact info AFTER purchase and said, «I’m here for you. My job starts AFTER you buy the car. Call me if I can serve you or help you with your car in any way.» Who does that? His sales manager Mike Crist was equally polite and a great guy overall. Even the finance manager, Brad Abrahamson was respectful, courteous, kind, and definitely respected our wishes of not buying an extended warranty without pushing the issue.
They even have an amazing young man as a service writer by the name of: Brian Brown. Another consummate professional. This company’s training or recruiting/​selection dept is clearly doing their job!
I will buy more cars from these folks in the future. What a great team!

I’ve got to say that this is the best Honda dealership in the Richmond area. I remember when I was buying my car that the sales people at Pearson were truly genuine and were very professional. Before going to Pearson, I went to Colonial Honda in Colonial Heights, and my experience there was terrible. The sales people at Colonial Honda were very rude and did not fight at all to get me to buy a car from them. Pearson did everything to get me to buy a car from them. I have a 2008 Honda Accord, and I’ve been bringing my car here to have it serviced. The service at this place is amazing! They always look out for you and never try to rip you off. They’re very honest, and that goes a long way in my book. Lucky for me, this place is conveniently located 5 minutes away from my house. I highly recommend Pearson Honda for people looking to buy a new Honda or for people looking for a great and reliable place to have their Honda serviced at. 5 stars in my book!
