Gemini Salon

I hadn’t gotten my hair professionally done in a good year or so because I couldn’t afford it but when I moved here I was determined to do something that made me feel good. I found Gemini Salon and nervously booked an appointment (I had a traumatizing stylist experience once that resulted in a mullet so needless to say new stylists frighten me). I wanted to go from my Sally Beauty Supply California fried bleach blonde to silver with some rootage so the new growth wouldn’t be so gross and obvious.
I got McKel. Let’s talk about McKel. Lucky for me she only works on weekends (which are typically my days off so that’s awfully convenient). Now not only did she seem genuinely excited about doing my hair (she had googled some images and showed me stuff to make sure we were on the same page), she asked me a boatload of questions to make sure she did what I want, and she explained to me WHY she was doing everything she was doing. She also didn’t ask me for my life’s story. I know we are spending hours together so sometimes stylists feel obligated to try to get to know you in a day, but she didn’t get uncomfortable with silence which was awesome. She did an Olaplex treatment (SO WORTH IT-​highly recommend), did some dark in my hair, and lots of grey/​silver. She even texted me later to make sure I was still happy. She went above and beyond and it truly shows that she is passionate about what she does. I am absolutely sold. She made me feel better about myself than I had felt in a long time and that’s something that I will never forget. You can’t teach someone how to be genuine-​they are or they aren’t, and McKel is. Additionally, the attitude in the salon is very positive. Everyone seems professional and kind. The price also wasn’t bad for a cut, color and conditioning treatment. I have paid way more before and never got anywhere near the service or satisfaction that I got here. I will definitely be going back.

I’ve been in Salt lake for 7 years and hadn’t found the right person. After having a baby, my hair cut was LONG OVER DUE! I changed it dramatically! I chopped it off! Whitney was AMAZING! The service she provided, how she handled my hair (and emotions), with care, even gave some extra tips! She was so wonderful! I think I’ve finally found my person. I would recommend her to everyone!

First time coming here (new in town), and I’m happy to say that I won’t be going anywhere else. Whitney did my hair. Highly recommend her. Super friendly and talented. Love my color and cut! Another thing I liked about her is that she wasn’t rough with my hair. That’s important to me because my head is sensitive.
Overall great experience!

Autumn has been doing my hair for 15+ years now and I have NEVER left unhappy! I’m not your typical girl, I don’t know what looks good on my face and don’t have time to «do» my hair every day. I leave it into her hands to make needed changes and I get complimented after each and every time I go by random people. She is loyal, consistent and even came in on her night off to get my hair done tonight since I’m moving! A++++. And yes, I will travel back for her services!

Best salon by far. Jill is absolutely amazing and a genius at color. Amber is amazing as well and super sweet. Prices are very reasonable and fair. I moved out of state and I still come to SL just to have Jill do my hair. She’s just that good.

Haley is the best nail artist! We can take her any design and she will try it. Everything she does turns out great! The atmosphere is fun. The prices are comparable. We love Gemini Salon.
