History

Established in 2011.

Kenny Smith’s vision for the Kennydid Gallery formulated over a number of years and through a variety of experiences. He studied music and art at Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands) in Williamsburg, KY. He attributes his photographic sense of design and composition to his art studies. As a traveling professional musician, Kenny visited galleries in many cities throughout the United States and Canada. He absorbed as much knowledge as possible without knowing it would eventually lead to the establishment of his own gallery in Midway. The serious idea of a gallery began to take shape while visiting several of the excellent galleries on Royal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Originally named Kennydid Gallery of Photographic Art when established in a rented storefront on Railroad Street in November of 2011, the gallery was expanded to include art of all genres upon the purchase of the current facility in July 2013. The gallery now exhibits the works o
