I’ve been bringing my family here for 7 years and we are never disappointed. Service, comfort, amazing grounds, and a chance to hideaway in a quiet mountainside. Magical.

This resort had to move our room and while that was helpful, we were blamed for nearly every piece of wrong info I received before we arrived. This place was also pretty snowed in when we came and was RUNNING out of food. Granted I have dietary restrictions… But a place should never be low on food! Also their rides to different locations are scheduled during specific hours!

This place is the best. Our room felt so luxurious, and we had a great time exploring the resort– we spent a lot of time swimming, playing tennis and horseshoes! We also loved that there fresh baked snacks and water available in the lobby at no extra charge.
The hot tub alone is well worth the stay. It has a full on waterfall running into it. Definitely a must see!
We also LOVED Z’s chophouse. It’s right outside the entrance of the hotel lobby. My husband and I are major foodies and we both agreed it was the best both agreed it was the best steak we have have ever had.
The staff was so helpful when I realized I had left my purse in the room after checkout. They held it in a safe location for me until we could come get it.
This place is by far the best hotel in the area!

My company booked a winterfest gathering here, so my finance and I stayed in a room to cut down on commuting from Salt Lake City.
The staff was incredibly complimentary and nice, even though we were part of a large group that had a tendency to get rowdy. The room was clean and cozy, and I slept like the dead in really comfortable sheets and bedding. The food was delicious and came with a plethora of options. And who doesn’t love a resort styled like a little bit of Bavaria?
A couple coworkers got Spa Treatments, but as I didn’t partake, not sure I can comment on the spa portion of the resort.

Our second stay here wasn’t as good as the first. We were quite shocked and disappointed when we arrived to find the hot apple cider in the lobby was no longer served. I know it may sound petty but it was such a unique and memorable thing. The smell filled the lobby and we always looked forward to it when we returned from skiing all day. The other disappointment was the restaurant which was now a bbq concept. I love bbq but EVERYTHING on the menu was bbq and after 2 nights you need something different. For a resort restaurant you really need to have a varied menu. On the bright side the bakery located just outside the front doors was as excellent as our previous visit.

The best part of the stay was the spa experience. However, the retreat overall was somewhat disappointing. We upgraded to a one-​bedroom villa and found the room to be extremely noisy. We could hear both the neighboring rooms as well as everything happening in the hallway. We dined in the restaurant and while the food was good, the service was poor and the hostess was very unfriendly. I definitely expected more from the Zermatt, especially for the price.

The overall experience was nice. We stayed in a king suite villa which was nice. We ate at the Z steak and chop haus and it was great. My only complaint and reason I gave 3 stars is because the beds are very uncomfortable and for a room of this price I expected better.

My husband and I came here for a weekend honeymoon expecting a lot more than what we received. Most of the staff was friendly but not always very helpful. We had booked a king suite with a jetted tub but were placed in a room without one. We called and they were kind enough to upgrade to one with the right tub, however their «jetted tub» isn’t anything to look forward to. On the first night we went to watch something on tv and found very limited options which I would have expected more in a «resort». In our shower, we went to adjust the shower head and the whole thing just fell off, hit the floor and broke into a few different pieces. We called for that to be fixed and for some more towels. We waited till the next day for the shower to be fixed and when we received a knock at the door expecting more towels, we were given a stack of robes! Me personally think there’s a pretty significant difference between towels and robes!
Moral of the story, this place is crap and if you’re looking for a nice place to stay, look elsewhere because you definitely not bound to find it here.

So I had the facial and the deep tissue massage. The facility was very nice and the staff is very friendly. Quiet room while you wait for your service. That was nice. There were comfy chairs and the fireplace was on.
I started out with my facial. WEAK. It felt like they were rationing the product. My face hardly saw very much product. It was probably one of the weakest facials I’ve ever had. The girl was super nice and was trying to be very accommodating. I’ve gotten plenty of facials and I walked out wondering what was done to my face.
The massage was better. Not as deep as I usually like but she focused on the areas I needed to have attention to.
All in all, for the price, I’d go someplace else. Better bang for my buck.

Had Thanksgiving 2015 dinner for our whole family.
For $ 142 a couple. Food was very poor quality.
Re-​hydrated mashed potatoes. Really?
Very dry and flavorless.
Prime rib was thin and tough.
Turkey was drier than the stuffing.
Gravy was weak and didn’t help.
Crab was very thin. (Skinny)
Shrimp was a little better than OK.
We have been to Zermatt four times and each time it fell a little lower.
At these prices, the quality of the food should be flawless. We will not be back.

This place is a disney styled Swiss chalet for you. A chalet made to look disney awesome heavy on the swiss-​ness. The place is great. Rugged outdoor looking rooms. I guess fancy people stay here during the ski season.

Seemed more like a Howard Johnson’s on the side of the freeway than a «resort» hotel. Well, that might be a little too harsh… here are my complaints
1. The room they gave us was next the house keeping room which has a large door that is out of whack and scraps the floor and makes a god awful, thunderous sound as it shuts and rubs the floor. This sound woke us and disturbed us in other ways. The front desk knew about it when I mentioned it but, more or less, shrugged it off.
2. They didn’t clean the room one of the days — when we called and asked to get it serviced, they did while we were at dinner but they didn’t restock the coffee. Boo… had to wait for it in the morning.
3. Don’t go to the bakery for breakfast! It sucked bad. Pre-​made food was full of hard, stale scrambled eggs.
4. The reservation process was quirky and only available via phone. I had to leave several messages in order to finally get a call back to book the room. Should have been the clue.
5. The room was ok but in the basement, so to speak. The curtain would not close enough so we had to jury rig a way to keep the outdoor security light from blasting through.
6. The internet dropped connection often disrupting some critical work I had do tend to during my stay.
7. The Wild Fire restaurant left us unsatisfied for breakfast, they messed up the order bad enough to take one of the meals off the ticket.
Pluses:
1. Z’s Chop House was really good… but get this. They didn’t put our little dinner pretzels in the to-​go box! They got the bread and butter in but left out the pretzels… weird.
2. The hot spring across the street was really cool — nothing to do with the hotel, however.
3. Lot’s of baked goodies and free news papers at the front desk.
4. Pool and fitness center were fine.

Love, love the place. Sometimes my wife and I need to get away but don’t have enough money to get away. There are fun events always going on at the hotel. Free movies, the bakery had fantastic food. The pool is fun.
If i have a family or work event there is space and a friendly staff to make it all happen. Love the place, pave the space. View is incredible, the staff is so friendly and helpful.
Can’t say enough good things about this page. I stay there a few times a year and feel rejuvenated by the end of the weekend.

the area tout themselves as the switzerland of america… this little resort gives a pleasant taste i haven’t stayed at a themed housing like this since huis tenn bosch… fun for a try~ but go for the real zermatt ;p

My stay at the Zermatt Resort was FANTASTIC!!!
I flew in from San Diego for a cousin’s wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. They really mean it when they say leaving the resort will be the hardest part of your vacation. The picturesque scenery and 4 star service make staying at the Zermatt well worth a trip to Utah on its own. Our time at the indoor/​outdoor pool was made worry free by the attendants who even volunteered to take a group photo at the end of our Sunday Funday.
I tend to be a hard guest to please since I have allergies that require special attention when staying at hotels, but the management team (Kylie, Devin, Matt) made sure that all accommodations were addressed to ensure a seamless stay at the end of the day.
Ohh… and the Key lime tart at the bakery is delicious.
I’ll be back again soon.

Great idea, but needs updating and many more staff to help. Over Memorial Day weekend they had one person manning the front check in desk. Nice pool and hot tubs. The setting is beautiful! We did get a nice upgrade for a mistake on our reservation.

My husband and I stayed here one recent Saturday night for a bit of a mini-​vacation. We got ourselves a sweet deal on Hotel Tonight and were pleased with our selection overall.
Check in was a breeze for us, the wonders of staying here during the shoulder season. Our room was appropriately spacious with a couple of very comfortable beds. (I immediately took a nap to test out the mattress: success!)The wi-​fi was faster than the vast majority of hotel wi-​fi I’ve used, just so you know. It was a rainy day so we couldn’t take advantage of the «executive putting greens,» and we decided to play some pool instead. You have to get the gear from the front desk, which is no problem. Someone had recently stolen the triangle to rack the balls, which was odd, but we managed.
After that, we got a few adult beverages and some nachos at Matty’s to get ready for our dinner at Tarahumara (aka the best reason to come to Midway). It was the only restaurant open for dinner during this time of year, which was not unexpected. Service was great and they actually individually dressed each nacho instead of just dumping cheese and tortilla chips on a plate and calling it good. Bonus.
After our off site dinner, the rain had calmed down enough that we could make extensive use of the pools and hot tubs. (They have an indoor and outdoor version of each.) Then we room serviced some wine (which was expensive, but it’s a vacation!) and watched some horrible infomercials. One note: not that you would ever pay $ 17.99 to watch a movie in your room, but we tried to browse the movies and their movie service is the slowest thing in the entire world, and showed us a Windows XP error message more than once. That could maybe use an upgrade.
Overall, our one night here was great fun. It ain’t the Ritz, but it served us well. (And seriously, there is ALWAYS a deal for this place on Hotel Tonight. You should look if you’re thinking about staying here.)

This was my first time staying at the Zermatt, but I have stayed at their sister property, The Homestead, across the street many times, and have never had a bad experience there. The Homestead has become a bit run down and could definitely use some sprucing up, so I chose to stay at the Zermatt over Valentine’s day with high expectations.
Upon arriving I had intended to valet my car so we could check in and change for our 5:00 dinner reservation. When I pulled up and opened my truck, the valet came up to me and informed me that I couldn’t unload my stuff there. He told me that, if I was checking in, I had to park my car and bring all of my luggage in with me. Instantly pissed me off. Clearly somebody forgot to explain his job to him. So I moved my car and started to drag all of my stuff in. As soon as we walked in, we saw a huge line wrapping back to the hallway of hotel rooms. There was no way we would make our dinner reservation.
After waiting in line for about 25 minutes, we finally got to the counter where I voiced my frustration with being late for our dinner reservation. The representative said, «Next time you can valet your car to get inside faster.» I came unglued and told her what had happened outside. She apologized – confused – and said that she would call the bell staff supervisor to explain what happened. She also called Z’s and notified them that we would be late for our dinner reservation. For the inconvenience, she offered us free breakfast at Matty’s Bistro in the morning. She said that all we had to do was walk in and tell them that the front counter was going to comp our breakfast.
Dinner at Z’s was fantastic. They have great food, our waiter was hilarious and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was relaxing and romantic. After dinner we got a couple’s massage at the spa, which I highly recommend. Their spa experience is incredible! The rest of the evening went very smoothly.
The next morning, after waiting in another long line to check out, we went to Matty’s Bistro for breakfast. When we approached the hostess, another gentleman was in front of us and we overheard him describing a similar situation to ours, in which the front desk had offered to comp his meal. The hostess informed him (us) that we needed some form of coupon from the front desk. Frustrated – again – we got back in line. The Matty’s Bistro Manager came out to tell us that she would just take care of it, which was really nice of her.
Bottom line: Don’t expect too much. Vegas lines, Wendover prices and service.

Oh my God. This is a case study on how NOT to run a hotel.
I have never written a review online, but this has driven me to do so after, not only my experience, but listening to other guests.
I am still imprisoned here at the hotel, and am writing this from my cell, uh, room.
First, my family and I spent thousands of dollars getting here to ski for 3 days. The hotel advertises (quoted from the web site): «Zermatt shuttles will transport resort guests from the front doors of the hotel to any of the four ski resorts in the area».
What they DON’T tell you is that there are a very limited numbers of shuttle runs, you have to book 24 hours in advance, and if you can’t get one of the roughly 48 seats going to the ski areas (out of hundreds of guests in the hotel), you can’t go or have to spend $ 110 dollars on taxis.
We are trapped here: we actually spoke to the manager last night and complained hard enough that he arranged a separate shuttle specifically for us at 10 am. We show up for the shuttle — nothing. Even though it’s clearly noted in the shuttle registry, no-​one bothered to do anything about it. The woman at the front desk was a b**th about it, telling me that there is no such thing as a 10 am shuttle, then shoving a printed shuttle schedule in my face. When I told her that we had arranged it with the manager and to look in the shuttle registry, she opens it and says: «Huh, 10 am shuttle to Deer Valley», shuts it, and tells me she knows nothing about it and she’ll call a bellman to come talk to me. Great service attitude, lady.
Second, we’re on our third day here — no-​one has come to service the room. Room 216 if you «hotel» staff are reading this.
Third, this is supposedly a 4-​star resort. Our shower runs hot, then cold, then hot, then cold, making it hard to dash in and out of the water stream to try and wash. I may bang on a stranger’s door to see if they’ll let me shower there.
Fourth, the front desk staff is rude. I thought I was in WW2 Germany speaking to them. I am always wrong till I show them their own arrangements.
Fifth, last night while waiting for the shuttle to go into Park City for dinner, we were told it would be 15 minutes late. I take my son to the bistro by the front door where there are plenty of open tables and ask if we can wait there till the shuttle comes. The hostess says «Yes! Of course.» and seats us, then appears with menus and tells us that we must each order a drink and an appetizer for the privilege of sitting there for 15 minutes. Ya could a told us BEFORE you seated us, no?
We’ve got 2 more nights here, and I shudder to think of what else I will have to report. I have spoken with other guests on 30 minute shuttle rides, and everyone has similar things to say. One guest even referred to the hotel as an «anti-​fun zone».
As of this writing, my advice is to avoid this place like the plague.

The Zermatt Resort is an interesting place. Although they advertise it as a luxury hotel, it is really more like a Swiss themed Best Western. Seriously. The resort is not well-​maintained and honesty doesn’t look particularly well built. It looks cheap. The pool area for instance showed a lot of wear and damage such as rusty air vents and damaged ceilings. The pseudo-​European charm of the Zermatt is kind of fun at first, but mostly it’s just kind of cheesy.
We had a large room with a king-​sized bed, gas fireplace, small table, sofa and arm chair, and another arm chair by the dresser. The bathroom was kind of small, but was adequate. Decorations had a western feel with cows pictured on the sofa and other decorations were more Europeans, such as some old master-​style paintings on the wall. Overall the décor just seemed kind of tacky.
The mini-​golf outside was one of the worst courses I’ve played. It was WAY too hard. No side bumpers or rails. Very poorly maintained. The greens were super long and overall the course was poorly laid out. I’d avoid it.
We didn’t eat at the restaurants on-​site because they were much too expensive. Instead we drove into Midway for our meals.
The best part about the Zermatt is that it’s in such a beautiful area. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway from Salt Lake or Provo ares, give them a try. Don’t expect luxury. But you can expect to be right in the middle of some beautiful country. Nearby companies offer horseback riding, which is a terrific way to see the area or just go for a hike on the many nearby trails.
